That car was the best car I've ever had. The one I had was a 1978, a station wagon (Brava Wagon 4-door). It had a 5-speed manual stick. The chairs were supremely comfortable. Very *wide* chair. It could corner in turns tabletop flat with absolutely no leaning. It had the most comfortable, interesting ambiance interior and cabin. My stick shift was not angled; it was straight down into the center console. It got about 30mpg. I bought it for 500 bucks (over 2 1/2 decades ago) and it started and ran without needing anything. I didn't even change the oil for 3 months, drive to work everyday as a tradesman, and drive it Saturday and Sunday too. 7 day a week daily driver. I was into buying a different 300-500 dollar used car every 12-15 months back then. I've owned 77 used cars in my life so far (since 15 years old) and 1 new car that has zero miles on the odometer, once.
I grew up in one of this as a kid in Italy and later became mine when I turned 18yo and dad bought another vehicle. It was a bit slow even for the time (the mk1, no twin cam but a 1.6 pushrods instead, with 75hp. Even a 65 hp 1.3 existed...) and when became mine I managed to make it even slower with a cng tank, which in Italy could travel almost for free (cng 5 times less expensive than gas). Once, I traveled from central Italy to Paris with two friends, >1000km in winter on snowy alpine roads to save on tolls. Despite lack of power it was great on road and superfast in curves (faster on the same curves than the Alfa Romeo 116 I bought few years later), particularly after the weight balancing caused by the cng tank and suspension stiffening to support it. I could write a book on this car.
I had a 1978 superbrava. After 3 years I had to sell it to pay for my college tuition. That car was my first love of my life. Two door. Light blue metallic with light blue leather seating, brown trims and automatic. It was a head turner. I
My mother had a I think 1976 Mirafiori sport, revcounter, 5 shifts and all, bought it used for 10k sek, I used it a lot. And it was pretty fast fpr that time, I think I was 170 km/h + sometimes. And when it broke, waterpump, I just lifted to the nearest city (Borås, and well I did know someone there and he took me to a spare part store) 400 sek later and an hour or so at the roadside I had it fixed, easy repairs, low on fuel, like 4 to 6 litres per 100 km. In retrospekt best car ever, though, every car rusted quickly in those years. This one less than most.
Without needing to depress the accelerator pedal overly exaggerated, just normal steady pressure through 2nd to 4th gears, it had a very pronounced beautiful rapidly crisp responsive acceleration behavior.
I own the only other 4 door in the US. Mine is a California car. Totally restored. Mine is Bright Green 76’ 1800 with dual carbs and 5 speed. Mine is for sale if anyone needs one. Also comes with extra grill and 2 crates of parts and can throw in a 2L complete fuel injected motor.
My family owned two of these. A 1978 4 door and a 1981 2 door, which was my hand me down car after graduating from college. It got hit and totaled. I have been trying to find the 2 door version for years. Very hard to find. Love them and they were fun car to drive. Handled fantastic.
Loving the 131! In the event you plan on selling this, hit me up. I am looking for a 131 4 door with AC to clean up for myself. I own 5 vintage Fiats and know them well.
My first car! Since then I have had many others. Corvettes, some other very high-performance European cars, and currently driving a 500 hp S class. Out of all of these, I really wish I had my Fiat back. Thanks for the memories. Someday I suspect I’ll try to buy another one.

I adore this car. We had one in Connecticut from 1979 to 1983 it had a weber carb. Lucky indeed to find it in such conditions. Yes, restoration.
