I can't be the only person that feels like Warden should've been the one to fight Apollyon. Honestly I would've loved to see that. A man with that had his oath broken by a Warlord that promised something good.

Raider probably would have tried to kill warden, since it was the knights who atatcked them. Warden would defend himself and one-shot raider (IRL, at least) and then Orochi would join end. Back to square one.

Even up to the moment she spoke her last, Apollyon never lost the aura of total control she exudes throughout the whole campaign. And now, years after the release of the game and more than a decade after her death in the story, Apollyon is still the master puppeteer. She never lost control. And that's why she's easily my all-time favorite video game villain.
And she was right when she said that she was immortal, her power intoxicating

An interesting, if delusional villain. Even Hitler and Stalin didn't want war forever. She has a lot to learn about wolves, too. They have strong social structure. They can be harsh, but they're still kind to the young, old, and even the omegas. That's why they got along with humans and became dogs.

I kept thinking she'd either remove or lose her helmet by the end of the story. In some ways though, I'm glad she didn't. Just makes us continuously wonder what she really looked like under that mask.

I mean they just saw her 1v2 a PK and Conqueror. You know, heroes so strong that they can now down guys like them by themselves. They also just saw her take a dagger to the gut and just shrug it off.
And yet they STILL thought "she won't be expecting us, we can take her" and fuckin went for it.

I think the game would've overstayed their welcome. Having more would inevitably cause the story to be of lower quality. I think the Apollyon's time frame within the story was really well done she is long enough for you to understand key aspects of her as a person and an idea she represents but short enough to leave you guessing about her goals and motivation.

I love all her fight scenes, so brutal. I just wish we had some exposition how she's so strong and survive a dagger to the gut like it's an annoyance.
She's just that badass, no questions asked. It's not like it's inconsistent either, with her lifting people with one hand and throwing them around like it's nothing or stabbing through people covered in armor.

She would probably be in a guardsman regiment or part of the inquisition with her longsword being a power sword. Instead of fighting the enemy directly she manipulates other factions into fighting each other and taking care of the scraps.

gotta be totally honest, this is probably my favorite female character in the gaming industry. It’s a shame woman aren’t commonly depicted like her, i really wanted some more of this kind, she is just too perfectly designed.

I am constantly impressed by just how well the campaign holds up. I’ve come back to it maybe 5 times since launch and each time I still wind up enjoying it as much as the first time. Surprisingly good story and some memorable characters despite how vague and generic it all seems at first glance.

Apollyon should've either beaten the Orochi, or someone on around the same level as her in strength and prowess like Holden Cross should've been the one to kill her

That's one of my favorite scenes, because the two commanders tried to stop fighting but were forced to.
As needless as her desire for war had seemed, she knew Strength.

Well if you do read the backstory, her motivations arnt weak but interesting, shes been through the hardships of war as a civilian and through that she realized that the only way to survive is to harden yourself to war itself

When I first played through the game and got to this scene (19:08) it pulled on my heartstrings a bit. That Warden and Kensei saw peace was so close...but they were powerless when the tide turned against them. To see something so precious torn from your hands, and to know there was not a thing you could have possibly done to stop it. And even worse, to fight again...knowing your duty to your king/emperor supersedes that of any 'superficial' belief as that of peace; to propagate such senseless slaughter in the name of honor or pride, or just simply because a single human can only accomplish so much.
This is what the world is; a careless presence, devoid of humanity or care. A hundred million humans will die, and the world will not move its unblinking gaze. And in our desperation to give our lives purpose and meaning, we give up our humanity...we seethe amongst the filth and hide our disgusting nature in the garbs of intelligence or unbending morality. That which we feared...we become. And so we kill. Kill in the name of our kings. Kill in the name of glory. Kill in the name of honor.

I have never encountered a character written as well as she is. It’s amazing how she commands respect from the very beginning, and you immediately know how powerful and professional she is. I want to know more about her backstory, how she became so good at fighting and her philosophy. Brilliant writing.

Perhaps if she goes for an execution where she cuts the arm off but the person being executed attempts to dodge, so it nearly cuts their arm off and as they’re wailing in pain, she drops her sword then rips off the arm after it’s been softened then begins to wail on them with it.
Same with her underhand decapitation she did in the first scene you meet her. That would be an instant buy for me

@@daboiringtaildfuzwar7291 When they're besieging the fortress, you see her pick up an Orochi by the throat and stab him, which is very similar to one Warden has now, and a lot of his executions take hints from her more barbaric attacks, like stabbing someone in the gut, throwing them to the floor by swinging the blade, and then decapitating them when they look up, she did something similar in the first fight.

One of the few physically dangerous female characters in recent media who isn't a girl boss stereotype or unnecessarily sexed up, but is actually intimidating and believable in her role.
In her last words Apollyon said “ all I want is to you to admit what you really are, all of you...my wolves” she knew that not matter what happened even if she died nothing would change there were will not be peace, there will be still only war, and we will still be her weapons of destruction , we will still being wolves killing each other
I loved this villain and this campaign, it’s story and characters, all of it was my favorite part of the game and I sincerely wish that they make other campaign, maybe a continuation it would be awsome

I haven't seen anyone talk or realize about what happened from 1:40 onwards. So basically Apollyon always talks about sheep waiting for their own slaughter and that's exactly what happened at this scene, she only killed the deserters(SHEEP) that didn't try to kill her but those few deserters(WOLVES) that attacked her were spared. She released the ''wolves'' among the ''sheep'' Apollyon didn't kill her would be killers but the ones who were waiting for their own slaughter. Further in the story this also happens several times (Sparing Ragnar and Seijuro from their execution)
Now that's some impressive visual storytelling.
And the Warden is recruited because he fought to the death against multiple blackstone legionaries in CERTAIN DOOM

Let's be honest, you came here after seeing Warmonger be released as the new hero. And, lets be honest, the ending here is pretty cool, but it could be better. Now, hear me out. What if, the ending, the Orochi follows Apollyon up the stairs in an intense duel, left with no choice but to fight. As Apollyon is choking out the Orochi, the campaign's Raider slams the falling debris to the side, as they charge into Apollyon head first, in the name of glory in the face of Odin. I would have preferred to fight Apollyon as the Warden. The orochi barely knows her but the warden was forced to break his oath because of her.
@@Hadras7094 I would have preferred if Apollyon had 3 phases, in phase 1 you fight as the Orochi, phase 2 you fight as the Raider, and in the final phase you get to fight as the Warden, finishing her off. Even though the vikings only arrived after Apollyon died, it still would've been pretty cool.

She only lets those live who fight both with skill and determination. She kills her enemies who await death without struggle because they were too passive to even try. Those who spit in her face, fight to the last and struggle are fit to survive longer to prove themselves.
It's actually quite clever in the sense that when she lets them live they feel compelled to join her for it, which in turn means she has all the strongest warriors in the land under her employ.
It's also not so clever when you have an army of disloyal warriors that will try to kill her at any given opportunity.

sadly they still put in the most meh execution possible for this very brutal and cool character in the latest update.
Props to the Officer and Soldier who had the balls to run up and try to kill Apollyon even after seeing her murder an entire squad of them.
I like how we see clearly she isn't a God, she isn't invincible, but it's what drives her and makes her far more terrifying. When she got stabbed she just pushed on and it shows she's human, but it's not stopping her. It's so badass
I just love the officer who doesnt give a fuck when Apollyon murders someone and sits in the chair chilling. The biggest chad in the entire game
