I can see her respecting Daubeny. A Wolf who became a Lion. A Lion who fled war, to be a coward. A coward who spent many years hiding, until he could stomach his cowardace no more. He fought for his people and lands, and got the respect he deserved. He became a proud Lion once more, with a loud roar. I can see Apollyon respecting him, for the cowardly Lion who found his roar again, and can now fight well again.
This is why Apollyon is my favorite villain in video games. You can summarize her character in one sentence, yet she’s still more complicated than that.
I must have missed that. But either way, her methods of recruitment would not be smiled upon by Apollyon. It ensures that while she may always have strong warriors, she won't have them in abundance, and that means, in the long game, she will be unable to outlast Chimera.
@@RavenKnightYT fair enough, you may have strong warriors who can slaughter hundreds of weakling but what happens when those hundreds of weakling are backed up by strong warriors who can also slaughter hundreds of weaklings aswell.
@@RavenKnightYT While Astrea might be a bit "brute force", Apollyon too makes mistakes. She slaughters the helpless instead of making the useless useful. Targets the weak (in other words don't kill the weak. Only the strong. Push the weak around though. Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z will show this as he changes. Old Vegeta is is basically Astrea). Worse yet, she stabs her own men in the back instead of looking them in the eye. A cowards move. I think Apollyon would respect someone that challenges her. No one ever called her out on it. Apollyon knows it's about accountability. More important then evern war. Peace just blinds people to it. What's fascinating about this is that due to Vegeta having been like Astrea and ending up improving so much it means the same can happen with Astrea. She could eventually end up being even better then Apollyon. Apollyon isn't just looking for a "wolf". She's looking for a "student". Astrea is perfect.
@@Drakkuruif it’s me and how I’ve been playing lately then the answer is FUCK NO Oh sure, I’ll take minion lane? What’s that? You actually expect me to somehow be smart enough to kill the one enemy in Zone C? HAHAHA, oh you think way too highly of me I wish this wasn’t the case, I really, really do
Personally, I believe that Apollyon influenced the Wu Lin to invade Heathmore. I think this happened when she was traveling, as she does say “A monk once told me that true peace is the product of one's mind and body working in perfect harmony. A battlefield, then, is one of the most peaceful places you can be.” I believe this monk to be a Shoulin. Implying that she has meet the Wu Lin and talked with them on the state of war and peace.
One narrative that Ubisoft could use would be a Genghis/Kublai Khan-inspired character who starts by conquering the Wu-lin empire and then ends up taking the war to all of Heathmoor. But I thought about this possibility before Griphon was released
Is it wrong for me to imagine Apollyon chilling somewhere while eating some snacks and just reacting to the various events that have been happening in For Honor so far like a Reaction TH-camr or a Movie Critic? Like, if she were to start her own TH-cam Channel, I think a lot of us might enjoy her golden reactions. LOL
It is actually possible that she did survive. In the cutscene, you don't really see any grievous wounds on her, all we see is her falling to the ground after saying: "My wolves." (Edit: In addition, as referenced in Warmonger's signature and in a mission in the Warden campaign, she was stabbed in the stomach, and casually made off with her wound. She did not care.) What we really need to ask is, is it within Apollyon's personality to actually fake her death in the first place. If we are to go with Raven's interpretation, then her accidentally surviving is possible too. Orochi's attacks don't actually include any stabbing aside from the deflect in the base game, and Apollyon is wearing heavy armor (In fact, it is lawbringer armor that she adapted for herself) which blades don't do very well with. So did Apollyon survive? It is possible. She may very well have died, but I won't say she did, because we are never actually given definitive proof of her death in the game aside from her falling over. But it is entirely possible it was a temporary lapse of strength, and she managed to get herself to her feet later and stagger away to wreak her havoc somewhere else (I.E. Starting the Wu Lin on their own war path).
I honestly believe she did die. It's been well established logic of this game via the executions that armor is really just a formality. Considering the fact that a PK can do her little default kidney stab on a Lawbringer in full, likely very heavy and thick plate armor, then yes, I do think she died. The only question is why she looked pretty much fine in her death scene. Katanas were designed to cut instead of stab, but that doesn't mean they're not deadly in their own right. Death by a Thousand Cuts is still death. So this begs the question; "If armor gives no protection in this world, then why isn't she visibly wounded?"
@@isengarde9490...this misses the other point that she's objectively been stabbed 5 or 6 inches into her stomach and just shrugged if off as well Apollyons entire ideal is willpower, power of the body, over fear Willing herself to survive grievous wounds is on brand
@@gurun8071 yeah and that blade she was stabbed with in the warden story did go in pretty deep in the very area of the body she would need immediate medical attention or she would bleed out
Maybe Apollyon to flee unnoticed from the battleground had to strip herself form her armor... and that's how Astrea found it and it may justify how we can equip her armor in multiplayer.
What happened to the Lord Warden? The leader of the Iron Legion? We hear next to nothing of them, the Raider, or the Emperor's Champion. I'd like to get some extra background on what they've been doing this whole time. Did they die in Apollyon's war? Have they grown to be expert leaders and tacticians? Are they amongst the most feared warriors of all the original factions? Questions that need answering in my opinion.
Who else thing a apollyon story dlc would be sick like say she did come back through one of the relics and throught out the dlc it showed flash back of her life and have three outcomes one being that she kills Astra and sow the seeds of war in chimera two has horkos wins and apollyon still kills Astra and horkos tears itself apart and the third show her killing both Gryphon and Astra and the two sides fall apart back into war among factions
If they ever did another story thing with Apollyon, it should be her origin. Getting to play out the events that formed the person who would become Apollyon.
I honestly think Apollyon is one of my favourite villains in any media because she doesn’t follow the same boring formula so many do. Also standing fuckin ovation because I love the deep dive into this theory of what if she returned. Amazing video as always Raven, one love!
Okay probably my last comment. If horkos were to win there may not be huge wars in heathmore, but they would start war with other nations. I mean just look at commander Ravier, she Infiltrated another nation broke their stuff and dipped. Even when the order of horkos is fighting for Domination they are still adding new warriors to the fight whether it's intentional or not. Stoking the flames of war futher.
Funnily enough, I had written a story reguarding this concept. It had been a story I created a while ago. 3 warriors known as The Children of Apollyon are the best of the best of the Black Stone legion, they were sent to do what none else could achieve. To shorten the story however, one of the three children had returned at the end of the battle of the Shard to save Apollyon, unfortunately she was too late and had come to see a defeated Apollyon instead. She would escape the Shard with her body and would nurse her back to health. All three children would reunite with Apollyon and she would order the three to go into hiding until they find a worthy war to return to. I always thought it would be an interesting idea if Apollyon just watched the war from a distance, with her legacy living through these three warriors instead of just going back to a war she has no reason to be in.
I do think you are putting too much stock in Apollyon. She's amazing, but her sway with horkos as a whole might be a bit more smaller than first glance. Many of the order of horkos worship Astrea as some kinda daughter of horkos. There are those who praise Apollyon, but remember horkos isn't just knights, it's samurai, vikings, and wulin. They don't look to Apollyon, the same way some of the knights would. They look to Astrea because it was Astrea who inspired them with her own ideals and ideals of Apollyon that she twisted a bit to fit her own world view. Astrea convinced those who were desperate and casted out of society by those who wanted peace to join her order. Also Astrea just dosen't strike me as Apollyons lap dog. Astrea to me from reading the lore seems like someone who pays respect to Apollyon and what she has did for war, but she has her own goals. Like Astrea said; she wants to start a new era for the truest heroes of this world. It's like having a king who worships God, and pays respect to a former king Bow down and worship said former king. that's not how it's gonna play out. In my opinion. Great video though loved it even if I do have some disagreements with how you interpret some things on this topic, but that's just where the fun discussions happen XD.
I appreicate the points you're making, but I think there's something you said there that proves my overall point: You're right that the followers of Horkos aren't all knights, but as you said, they all follow and respect Astrea. And while you say she just 'respects' Apollyon, according to the lore, she claims she had a vision of Horkos appearing to her telling her to 'finish Apollyon's work' meaning she's not just trying to follow Apollyon's lead, she's trying to live up to the same goals and ideals. Meaning that if Apollyon returned and said 'no...this isn't what I fought for,' then that would shatter Astrea's world view. She believed she was called to finish Apollyon's work, and now here's Apollyon saying that she's got it all wrong. And, because Astrea is the one Horkos looks up to, seeing her bested or admonished by her idol would have them shaken as well. If Astrea is shaken, their faith in her is shaken. And if their faith in her is shaken, then Horkos itself is shaken. That was my overall point.
@@RavenKnightYT it's basically if you followed a prophet king, but not essentially the God they preached about. If that God comes to you all and tells you to do something that respect kinda carries over.
25:50 I'd imagine Apollyon would do something similar to what Kane did with Brother Maricon. Bring her into the fold and essentially tell her "I'm in charge now, your just my figurehead".
That's somewhat debatable. Firstly, I doubt she's the most physically powerful individual. She was bested by a single champion, and I'm pretty sure current Holden Cross or Astrea would be able to beat her. But if you're talking about influence and standing. Then you gotta compare her to other characters like Holden Cross, whom managed to create an alliance between all the great nations. And Astrea, leader of the Horkos empire, which is likely bigger than the Blackstone legion, and also has the pirates on her side. In terms of power, I'd argue that Holden and Astrea both have a much greater standing than Apollyon ever had. However Apollyon will forever be the most influential figure in the story.
@@pokimanefartcompilation in reality, i was talking about a overall. Her Sword fight, she created it using the styles of several class. for her strength and endurance, she survived being impaled (almost no character has received such a big damage without dying, you have to remember that she is a simple human.) and can single-handedly beat several opponents, while wars are linked without much rest. Her leadership is impeccable, managing to stand up to all nations while using them to sow chaos and war. and don't forget that her defeat is what she wanted. she didn't want to win this war otherwise she would have done it a long time ago. she let herself killed by the champion, during the whole fight it was as if she was having fun, knowing that if she died, she would have succeeded in her goal. But know that she had at her feet, almost all the characters most powerful and the most important of this time (she had all the dayimo at her feet, several Viking leaders, and dominated the knights, even the Iron legion considered as the strongest at this time had been exceeded... well, she wasn't what she was anymore, but still.)
The emperor's champion realizing cutting through plate armor with the katana is impossible and the reverse group stabbing only managed to tire her and she collapsed from exhaustion LOL always check for a pulse dude
I love these videos from you, I feel like I'm sitting in a class watching this on the projector in the dark and I dig it. Her voice actress is fantastic
If she didn't die I can see her slowly gathering a forces in the shadows in the case her endless war is extremely threaten and would have no choice to reveal herself but that's a big if and that if is only cause we never saw any of the original 3 factions do anything with the body after the battle so it's open to theories like this
One thing I've always wanted to know is where do people FIND this lore? Like, everything about Inquisitor, for example. I know they're not pulling all this lore and background stuff out of the blurbs at the bottom. I've always been super interested, but can never find it.
I honestly think Apollyon really could've faked her own death with the emperor's champion. Although the story of Apollyon being dead in for honor right now is understandable, the factions believed and wanted her dead, but I could think of the alternatives of how she could've easily survived. Apollyon vs the emperor's champion, 2 very skilled warriors in their own factions with the power they wield to make a change in who would kill who, but Apollyon (as I believe) wouldn't fall so easily to fighting (for what we know who she fought) 1 very skilled warrior of a different faction as she had faced hundreds in her time beforehand. Depending on her characters size, I wouldn't be surprised if she was completely jacked underneath all that armor. I would imagine in fist to fist combat alone (still with armor) she could possibly disable her own opponents in more ways than 1 based on her knowledge of combat through her countless battles fought with overwhelming amounts of foes around her. She can be resourceful during a fight, strategic in every move she makes, planning her next attack in a second right before executing it in perfect precision. Although as we've seen twice in the games storyline she was indeed defeated by the end and she did miss the peacekeeper lodging a dagger into her torso but she basically brushed that off like it was it nothing. I think she could've easily overpowered the Emperor's champion if she wanted to kill them so badly but she was a person who thought ahead every step of the way and would've thought out every alternative to a solution improving her cause to take into effect. However it is easy to think the Emperor's champion is very maneuverable because of their light armor compared to Apollyon's giving them a lighter edge to the battle but what Apollyon had wasn't movement on her side, it would appear to be pure strength and (like I said) strategy on her side, while the champion only thought of their ability to kill Apollyon and only killing her to supposedly make peace once they did, which afterword nearly worked but never did for long enough. Even if Apollyon did survive I don't think any of the world events that have taken place after her death would've changed at all
Bou Yin: Pfft...Factions...who needs Factions...I got my Crew Also Bou Yin: Alright ima side with Horkos now This is kinda why my Pirate sides with Chimera(Well Kinda) She doesn't necessarily join the Chimera Alliance but she does Aid them from time to time
Still bewildered at the depth and how well written Apollyon is, considering it’s a villain from a very rushed campaign made by a company renowned for their badly-written stories and characters.
The order of Horkos mainly consists of Warmonger leaders and those introduced in season 3, and I believe if Apollion showed herself many Warmongers and Black Priors would join her side cause one things for certain. Not all Warmongers and Black Priors are loyal to Astrea, due to the fact both of them have Chimera armor sets.
Beautiful! Just beautiful raven! I absolutely love this! When I play For Honor I take time , reps and effort to recreate the Blackstone Legion or at least the looks for all factions in for honor and it's because of this exact thing for Apollyon! Her story and her ideals have always taken me back and I've enjoyed the story mode ever since and to be honest I loved every second of this , thank you for further and igniting my passion for this game all over again, every day I see you heroes in history and executions grated and thank you for making me smile
I have always thought that if the vikings didnt' come in like they did on the last mission, then both the samurai and knights WOULD have gone home. Wouldn't be surprised if Apollyon knew the warband was coming and was making sure the fight would take long enough so that once she died and the knights and samurai meet and have the vikings appearded then. Cause we see both sides getting ready for a fight but with the warden and Kensi meeting they calmed the men down. When the vikings showed up neither side knew what was going on and if was a trap or not.
Didn't watch your content a lot. But this was a blast! I loved that. Keep on grinding and building your community. I have been present since 1k subs. And i will be present until it all ends. I am proud how you evolved your channel.
Imagine a series where the main villain is like Apollyon and how the villain makes everyone wolves and keep a constant war going on and is killed till someone like Astrea comes in play and the villain like Apollyon reveals to have been pulling the strings even when the new villain like Astrea thought they pulled the strings.
I think she could possibly return because I thought that's what they were teasing in the fight with Chimera and Horkos, because her helmet was glowing red. I thought she could've possibly been revived through the use of Draconite
I always wondered after Astrea established her order. Did she ever thought of hunting down the champion who killed Apollyon. Or is the Champion dead? If he wasnt dead i wonder what he would think of astrea
i know it's kinda unconnected but imagine if we ever got male variation to warmonger, and made him voiced by sundowner from metal gear rising, like shouting "i'm fuckign invincible" when in revenger or "all we say ... give war a chance!"
Apollyon is such an underrated villain. On the surface level, she may come off as a one note warmonger (lol), but if one took the time, effort and respect to delve into her character, there is more complexity and her ideology is kind of believable. It’s a shame that the story mode is so meh because there’s a lot of potential in the lore to be adapted into comics or as a streaming service.
I'm imaging that one cod scene where richtofen in german garb uses the teleporter to transport a different richtofen to him, to which new new richtofen proceeded to shoot the one in german garb. Astrea:" I've done it! I've have worked to carry your legacy and unleash the wolves!" Apollyon:" You carry nothing but shame and ignorance. You are no successor."
Me and my friend have made a theory about Apollyons return. So here's the deal, There must be a specific reason why Astrea would hire Pirate to get her all the relics/artifacts. So far we got an bowl with Wyvern's blood which makes you unkillable, a Cursed Bracelet which can devour life and flow it into unliving things(that's how Bolthorn revived the yarl of his village), a Cursed Dagger which can capture souls of both living and unliving and at last we have an Arabic Sphere which gives you infinite Knowledge. As it was said earlier Apollyons body was never found and we have Order of Horkos that kinda follow her ideals. So our take is that either Astrea wants to revive Apollyon or put her soul into Apollyon's body to become her fully. All of this will lead to Test Your Metal Event, since haven't got one this year. I really hope that they'll do this and finish the fantasy part of For Honor this way.
The issue i see with this is the fact that Shattered Fates clearly seems to hint that Horkos is about to make a huge leap forward Id honestly prefer Apollyon to return, she was a much better written character than Astrea was
In one of the Weekly marching fire quests you have to fight through the Wu-Lin breach map (Basically the great wall) to go and steal Zhanhu's fire At the beginning of it I 100% remember it saying you were there on behalf of the Blackstone Legion, but I can't 100% say if it Mentioned Apollyon sent you, though I'm certain it did Either way, Apparently at least the Blackstone's were aware of the Wu-Lin. I think it's reasonable that Apollyon knew aswell Edit: Fuck, 10:50 you mention something I didn't even know happened, the Invasion. They might be related, in hindsight
I'm not sure if anyone's said this, but I'll pitch it regardless.. What if everything you've said could be the entire plot of the final year of For Honor. The game at its core is a fighting game, so even if there's a chance lore wise at peace.. It'll never work, you don't do anything in for honor but fight others in a never ending conflict. The war is constant, literally. Peace never sticks, though. We've seen that with the arrival of Horkos. A year of Apollyon's slow return up until the final season would be the perfect end of the story for the game, if it managed to ride ten years strong. Maybe both factions would be crushed, with the moshpit of veteran warriors or wolves fighting for the scraps. Those people would be us, the players. Now I doubt you'll read this, I'll be another commenter for the pile. But I'd love to see some type video on this possibility, the end of For Honor. Despite it being far away, again, I'd love it to see it. I love this channel, mainly because it reminds that the game is much more than just swinging Swords and getting cool executions. Thank you for that, I've been with this game since the beginning so having somebody bring back the nostalgic vibes with theories and lore is awesome. Anyway, long comment but seriously.. Keep it up.
I read EVERY comment, my man. And I wish that Ubisoft WOULD adopt this idea. But...they won't. They don't like me for some reason. Thank you so much for sticking with this channel too! I'm thrilled to have a dedicated fan!
honestly, lore I wrote for my warmonger is that they are trying to promote trade, prosperity, just so people get jealous of eachother. A leader envious of another leader leads to war, and is actively trying to get horkos infighting so they stop being "dogs, bloated by gorging themselves on innocent lambs"
I do want Apollyon to return, black stone legion return as the perfect 3rd party. Wolves seeking war, not tyranny. Warriors seeking the end of the corruption Astrea spreads, but not the end of war. Call em something else even, The Blades of War, The Wolves, a perfect 3rd party to join the fray and even give a refresh to the war map
She doesn't really. Ubermencsh is a single person. The idea that one person can exceed established values of a culture and lead them to their own. The ultimate leader essentially. Apollyon doesn't really even want to lead. Astrea does, Apollyon doesn't. Apollyon just wants people to return to what she believes is their best selves. She wants people to be strong. To be wolves. To fight. Thats basically it. While other people could see her as an ubermencsh figure, its not really what she believes. The fact that she becomes a single figure to rally AGAINST, on purpose even, just to die so the rest would keep fighting is almost opposite of what an ubermench would do.
@@smugreptile6695 I’m more saying Apollyon wants everyone else to become Ubermenshes (idk the plurality). I think her mantra of wolves vs sheep is comparable to Nietzsche’s idea of master vs slave morality. She also believes that civilization is unnatural and exists to protect the weak. We also know that Apollyon believes that power is the only truth which is why she wants everyone to fight. You’re probably right that it’s not an exact 1-1 to Nietzsche but it seems like the best comparison to me. That’s just what I’ve noticed though
Good video. Sorry that this comment is coming a bit late ^^ Hope you had good holidays! Just wanted to share some of my views: I think Astrea and Horkos keep Apollyon's promise of letting only the strong rule. War is not only masses of people fighting on battlefields. It is a state a nation is finding itself in. Constant martial law and fights for power between warriors within the Regime is keeping that ideal but refines it by asserting just enough control to ensure no "hypocrite" can start taking over through politics or wealth ever again (something Astrea has a big issue with where Apollyon just didn't like it much but tolerated if it brings war). What should not be underestimated is that Horkos is a cult with the intend to overwrite and corrupt existing beliefs, traditions and cultures. So that only the violent aspects of the factions remain. Cultist minds do not work the same as a normal person's mind. They are ready to give up everything for their cause and do not question their leader. And that imo makes them way more dangerous than Alliance fighters who might be more in numbers but still cling to their different faction ideals. Instead of the organic/natural war Apollyon wanted to create, it will be an artificially created war wanted and "played out" by the cultists participating in it. And that, if controlled well, will be a truly never ending war. In a way Horkos corrupted even that ideal without destroying it. Horkos also keeps people alive so they serve them but at any point they can try to fight their way out of that low position. The big difference between Apollyon's and Astrea's war is that Astrea controls it where Apollyon didn't. And I also honestly think that Astrea never intended to be like Apollyon or even look up to her in that way. I think she sees herself more as an equal or even greater than her. If she wanted to step in Apollyon's footprints she would have worn her armor and called herself Apollyon. But that did not fit her so she chose a different path. She chose the name of a goddess instead of a demon. I don't even think she started as a Blackstone. I think the vision of Horkos truly was where her ideals stem from. And that she used the Blackstone Legion and Apollyon's style simply as tool to start her thingy. And a little fun fact about Draconite is that Apollyon already had an alchemist studying it. It was hinted at that this was why the Black Priors came to Eitrivatnen Harbor. To get the Grimoire before anyone else but the Horkos allies could find it. The Harbingers as they appeared in Y3 were already allied with Astrea. They were not Harbingers of a cataclysm but of the Order of Horkos.
Thank you so much for the comment, and I do hope that the video was enjoyable for you. I'm a fan of your work and enjoy seeing your craft! As to your points, I fear I must disagree to some extent. To your first point about Apollyon tolerating the hypocrites who rise to power as long as it brings war? I see no evidnece of that. She made it clear quite frequently she detested sheep who pretended to be wolves. I can't think of a single moment where she implied she was tolerant of the hypocritical leaders who took over through politics or wealth. To your second point about the cult being different from allied fighters, you are 100% right about that, but that takes away from their ability to thrive and sustain themselves, and while perhaps they will stay ultimately loyal to Astrea in the end, it does not mean they will be able to thrive without her or when the war ends. To your third point about how this 'controlled war' if 'controlled well' will be a truly never ending war. I see problems with that. While I agree this is an artificial war, how on earth will it be endless? The Horkos order has made it clear they seek victory in this war, which implies they want to defeat Chimera ultimately. With this brand new season with Ravier now holding knowledge of the future, she even says that the path to victory has been made clear. I think that's the difference I notice: Horkos is seeking victory and dominion. Apollyon saught neither. The part about Astrea not looking up to Apollyon I just don't agree with. Even in the Warmonger reveal trailer, it opens with us seeing her kneeling in fealty and respect to a statue of Apollyon. According to her lore, she saw a vision of the god Horkos telling her specifically to 'Carry on Apollyon's work.' Even if she doesn't necessarily worship the ground Apollyon walks on, I have to think she respects her ideals and looks up to her as a guide or ideal to live up to. As for her not starting as a blackstone, I might agree with that, but there's no question she USED the Blackstones to attack Qing Pass to steal from Sun Da. So whether she was one or not, she had sway over them. Perhaps because they saw something of Apollyon in her. And finally the part about the Harbingers...while I do agree the harbingers do ally with Horkos, the game lore itself implied that there were signs of a cataclysm coming and so each side brought forward their darkest warriors to gain an edge and end the war quickly. Plus that wouldn't account for Sun Da and the Zhan Hu who were attacked by the Blackstone Legion who were working under Astrea's orders, when it would have been easier for Astrea to just ask him for his research or alchemy craft.
@@RavenKnightYT Ah yes, you are absolutely right there. Sun Da was assimilated into the Order after Qiang Pass. I apologize, I knew that but forgot him being called a Harbinger for a moment there. That Astrea used the Blackstones I agreed with. I'm sorry if I made that unclear. I didn't mean that Astrea dislikes Apollyon but that she simply saw her as a precursor to herself. From my perception of her she thinks she was chosen by Horkos and that Apollyon before her was chosen for the same cause as her. While she respects Apollyon massively for her achievements I still believe she is not misguided or tries to live up to Apollyon since it was stated multiple times that right from Astrea's vision of Horkos, the Order strives for way more than just common war Apollyon wanted. They are not the same and I think to always compare these two and say Astrea is just an Apollyon fangirl is not giving the character enough credit. Astrea and Apollyon to me are more like "co-workers" who wouldn't agree on the methods of how to run their business. Similar to the relationship between Sauron and Morgoth in LotR. Both are very different but are still great Dark Lords respectively. Also just want to say that I try not to say Astrea is way better or anything. As villains I love Apollyon and Astrea equally for their differences and, like in real life, beliefs shift over time and with the generations. I guess I'm just sad to see a lot of distaste toward Astrea when she is a great character just because she is constantly compared to Apollyon and players trying to frame her only as an Apollyon follower when she is just her own person. Regarding the "eternal war": As mentioned I think the word "war" in FH is used to describe the state of a people under constant martial law and violence as way to reach higher ranks. After Chimera is defeated they would just do what they do right now in their spare time. A perfectly run continent wide cult or religion. Never changing due to absolute control. It is not a war of great battles but a constant internal struggle for survival while suppressing any form of diplomacy or other political standpoints.

"War. I AM war" -Apollyon, probably
Not just a sentence, but a word, "War."
I have a sentence for you then.
"You have nothing to fear but your own weakness and inability."
Astrea did say there were wolves among chimera, but that they were blinded.
@@mal1362 yea its the idea of 1 person can clear a minion lane but can he cap a zone

In the grimdarkness of the far future, there is only war. What purpose is there for someone like Apollyon where there is already endless war?

"Somehow, Apollyon returned"
- Holden Cross (probably...)
She did not care.)
What we really need to ask is, is it within Apollyon's personality to actually fake her death in the first place.
@@isengarde9490...this misses the other point that she's objectively been stabbed 5 or 6 inches into her stomach and just shrugged if off as well
Apollyons entire ideal is willpower, power of the body, over fear
Willing herself to survive grievous wounds is on brand
@@gurun8071 yeah and that blade she was stabbed with in the warden story did go in pretty deep in the very area of the body she would need immediate medical attention or she would bleed out

Dude shes definitely dead
Maybe Apollyon to flee unnoticed from the battleground had to strip herself form her armor... and that's how Astrea found it and it may justify how we can equip her armor in multiplayer.
This would also imply that the alt version of her armor looks how it does. Repaired with new parts and old ones removed
@@bladeguardkraken9741 true! haven't thought about that
What happened to the Lord Warden?
The problem with that is the relics aren’t actually magical, they’re just items attached to legends. Their stories are not meant to be taken literally
If they ever did another story thing with Apollyon, it should be her origin. Getting to play out the events that formed the person who would become Apollyon.
@@redwolf7424 say that about Y6S4 relic. Commander ravier literally seen the future.

I honestly think Apollyon is one of my favourite villains in any media because she doesn’t follow the same boring formula so many do. Also standing fuckin ovation because I love the deep dive into this theory of what if she returned. Amazing video as always Raven, one love!
As luke skywalker once said "noone is really gone" apollyon lives on with astrea
"No one's ever really gone."
*Apollyon Laughs*
I see more of Apollyon in Holden than Astrea. Astrea is a pretender.
The Devs need to make this a season and an actual plot point. This is amazing
This type of stuff revitalizes my love of for honor again. Awesome vid my dude!
Apollyon is for me, and in the Lore, the most powerful character.
What I would like is a story update or DLC
That ending man, chills! ❤
And an overall Awesome video
I love these. I could see this going exactly this way and how Apollyon would love how her war's never truly ended.
I love these videos from you, I feel like I'm sitting in a class watching this on the projector in the dark and I dig it. Her voice actress is fantastic
If she didn't die I can see her slowly gathering a forces in the shadows in the case her endless war is extremely threaten and would have no choice to reveal herself but that's a big if and that if is only cause we never saw any of the original 3 factions do anything with the body after the battle so it's open to theories like this
I wonder, what happened to the Lord Warden? And what would apollyon think of him?
I would assume the Lord Warden would be in the castle in Ashfeld on the War map in multiplayer
Even if Apollyon did survive I don't think any of the world events that have taken place after her death would've changed at all
This man single handedly made me believe that apollyon is actually a really intresting character yet the for honor devs executed it horribly.
They really flopped
I'm curious how would Apollyon react to the yokai and Meiko with the dagger and the jorogumo?

I really like this video! I can really see the effort put. Apart for one immersion breaking sentence about cars it's really good. :)

Not going to lie if you made a audio book of this like for honor and glore I would watch it all
I think she could possibly return because I thought that's what they were teasing in the fight with Chimera and Horkos, because her helmet was glowing red. I thought she could've possibly been revived through the use of Draconite
I always wondered after Astrea established her order. Did she ever thought of hunting down the champion who killed Apollyon. Or is the Champion dead? If he wasnt dead i wonder what he would think of astrea
No, they’d let him live because he or she was a wolf in their eyes. They would be a cog in a rotation of a grand machine, an idea of war.
I wonder what other faction exists in the for honor world? Korea, Aztecs, Greece, or maybe something more ancient or late middle ages?
i know it's kinda unconnected but imagine if we ever got male variation to warmonger, and made him voiced by sundowner from metal gear rising, like shouting "i'm fuckign invincible" when in revenger or "all we say ... give war a chance!"
hell yeah
Apollyon is such an underrated villain. On the surface level, she may come off as a one note warmonger (lol), but if one took the time, effort and respect to delve into her character, there is more complexity and her ideology is kind of believable. It’s a shame that the story mode is so meh because there’s a lot of potential in the lore to be adapted into comics or as a streaming service.

Astrea:" I've done it! I've have worked to carry your legacy and unleash the wolves!"
Apollyon:" You carry nothing but shame and ignorance.
I really hope the event comes back.
I would love if she came back

Who thinks for honor needs a new game mode or ranked dominion
The issue i see with this is the fact that Shattered Fates clearly seems to hint that Horkos is about to make a huge leap forward
Id honestly prefer Apollyon to return, she was a much better written character than Astrea was
If Apollon came back today, and would see what Astea did to this place, her first words would probably be

In one of the Weekly marching fire quests you have to fight through the Wu-Lin breach map (Basically the great wall) to go and steal Zhanhu's fire
At the beginning of it I 100% remember it saying you were there on behalf of the Blackstone Legion, but I can't 100% say if it Mentioned Apollyon sent you, though I'm certain it did
Either way, Apparently at least the Blackstone's were aware of the Wu-Lin. I think it's reasonable that Apollyon knew aswell

wao man, great video, I enjoyed it very much, thank you PS: every time Apollyon says sheep, it reminds me of JCVD in expendables
I love the ending. Apollyon need not return. She was never gone, to begin with. That is the war we know.
Awesome video. I love my Apollymom!
If a polygon did return I would picture a letter being sent to the emperor's Champion, Griffin, raider, and warden saying" my wolf's"

Apollyon basically believes in Nietzsche’s Ubermench if that puts her ideology into some perspective

Good video. Sorry that this comment is coming a bit late ^^
Hope you had good holidays!
Just wanted to share some of my views:
I think Astrea and Horkos keep Apollyon's promise of letting only the strong rule.

Ah yes, you are absolutely right there.
Im at the verry begining of the video and my first reaction when i imagine What if Apollyon Returned was : She standing in middle of eclyps battle and she say whit the deapest facepalm " WHAT THE ACTUAL SH*T ?! What ? magic stones , pirates , GUNS ? DRAGONS?!! im out of here..."
Imagine if they added a second campaign that we play through as Appolyon.
I see her unintentionally surviving the Emperor's Champion.
I noticed you took down the video about apollyon's background could you re-uploaded please I loved it
I didn’t take it down. TH-cam blocked it internationally.
@@RavenKnightYT NOOOO can you get it back up? my friends and I used those videos to inspire us to play for honor (we are a bunch of edgy bastards) and i used it because i used Apollyon as a base for my DND character (We are BBEG villians) and i used the video to immerse myself in the mindset ;.; i hope you can get it back up ASAP also i love your videos, you single handed brought my perspective on astrea to change so much i no longer ran a astrea Warmonger, other then all my yammering i love your vids and i hope you keep up the good work
@@RavenKnightYT Then we must wage war on youtube. Cowards have to be hunted. Why did they take it down?
Imagine if Apollyon didn't actually die in that last battle. She just collapsed in exhaustion. 😂
Apollyon would love the Orks fro warhammer 40k
nice gameplay my man
If apollyon returned
The game would actually be good again
26:57 That cracked me up because I’ve actually memed that!🤣
Apolion would probably like the lore accurate rogal dorn and imperial fists
I think it would be dope as fuck if they brought Apollyon back. We never see her actually die, we just see her collapse in exhaustion. The champion never confirms the kill, so there’s still a chance.
