Tried several ways to quiet the filter but from the slight egg beater sound, its the impeller. Looked it up on the Marineland site but none are available. Time to replace this unit with a Fluval FX4.
Ya that’s what I experienced when I made the video too. I have Fluval 306s, FX4s and 6s and never have this sort of issue. 1 of my FX6 was last maintenances almost 2 hrs ago and it’s still not clogged yet in my 125. I run it with 2 FX6s. I’m so lazy to open it up 😆
My lfs gave me one of these yesterday but said it leaks. I thought it would be working looking into. I currently have a fob filter that’s been running good for maybe 3-4 years.
That doesn’t work. In 1 of my vids I showed the impeller blades r all shredded creating air bubbles thus it needed a new 1 I could never get. Anyways the canister has been sold for a while already. Thank you.
@@no1draftpickxl897 the tubing is not airtight from where the rubber hoses connects to the black plastic inlet and outlet tubes. The plastic tubing has a manufacturing defect, a line that runs lengthwise relative to the tubing which can break the seal. Others have complaint about that on YT. If that's not it then it's the large o-ring. Try putting lithium or Si grease and close it again.
@@malagabee this helps.. I also agree I reversed the ends of the hose and the sound was not up top. lol I will try electric tape to seal.. scared of using chemicals even on the outside.. (I also thought of using silicone around the outside edges of the tube but still.. the chemicals is a cause for pause)
Wsup. I could not fix it. Needed a new impeller and Marineland could not get it in stock and was not available anywhere unless u buy a new one. No thank you. Never another Marineland.

can you tell me how the Marineland magniflow canister filter water flows through is it from top to bottom
Water enters through the round holes on the trays to fill the bottom of canister then it travels upwards through all the media and exits.

Change all the o-rings
When you close the canister instead of immediately putting it to work let it sit for a day to let it pressurize and let seals close up.
Try re-priming the cannister, and use the pump first to flush out bubbles to the top.

OK.. It worked for me.. took me 2hrs to find that out.. but what do you do for the 1-2sec whistling sound every now and again .... like I hear now?

Probably due to no cleaning
That assumption is simply false.
Same problem. I hate it
