    I wish you'd had this video a couple of months ago! With the change in how the block works, it took me forever to figure out. Once I figured it out, THEN the instructions made sense. It was advertised as a 360 when I purchased it at PetSmart. So I was really confused why it went together differently. Your video would have really helped. Great video, but the way.

      Thanks so much! Once I knew a new one of these was out, I want to get my hands on one to check it out. Still working great for me!

      @@FishyReview I have a 40 gallon breeder with 2 adult Axolotls, who tend to be very messy. Went to clean the filter after a month and the top flossing pad is still white! Color me surprised! Very happy I can extend the time between changes with this filter.

    Just got one. Not sure they really needed to go with larger hoses for an extra 40gph increase. The C360 was only 35W, the 400 is 96W, also have to wonder if the increase in flow is worth the extra power
    consumption. I wanted to hook this up to my Coralife 6X UV but it has 3/4" barbs. I have a 360 on my other tank hooked up to a chiller and UV all with 3/4 fittings. I also put the big Fluval FX5 intake strainer on the original black intake tube. It fits loosely but doesn't fall off. I'll probably just use 3/4 I'd tubing on the 400 anyway. Slides on fine if heated up a little. The valve blocks are prone to leak if the hoses sag or droop down because they put pressure on the o-rings on the nipples where they swivel. If you unscrew the valve block you can disassemble and replace and lube all the o-rings as needed. Should be done once a year and it will prevent leaks from occurring! Marineland doesn't seem to keep parts in stock for these so invest in some o-ring assortment kits!

      I'm glad you mentioned wattage because I was kicking myself for not getting that into the video. I just put a meter on both. My Magniflow 360 draws 20 Watts and the 400 draws 30 watts. That's interesting about how leaks can be caused by sagging hoses. I will keep that in mind for sure.

      @@FishyReview how are those wattage less than it's rated for? You'd think they'd test higher than lower especially once loaded with media.

    I've owned 3 Marineland canisters two 360s and one 220. All three of them leaked in the same place. There is a gasket of some sort under the primer pump I had to seal it with JB WELD as Marineland customer service absolutely was no help. You couldn't give me another one of those piles of junk. I replaced them with FX6 And never looked back so glad I did

    • @FishyReview
      @FishyReview  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm, I never thought about the primer leaking. Mine never leaked there for sure. All the leak complaints seemed to come in the last few years, but I bought my 360 in 2017 and it's been great. Maybe something changed in a bad way and maybe they've got it fixed on this 400. So far, so good on mine.

      @@FishyReview I don't think that's a likely leak point. The valve block is the primary leak source.

      @@razinfishes1918 I've taken 3 of the C360s completely apart and the primer circuit is well sealed. Has a nice double lip seal on the piston. If everything is kept clean and greased it should last for years!

    Nice video. Looks very cheap to me. Packaging too. I wonder if it comes out of the same factory as Sun Sun (All Pond Solutions in the UK). I've seen a few filters that look very similar. With those style trays.
    Anyway. As long as it works.

      I would say it feels pretty solid to me, compared to some others. Packing inside the box could be better for sure.

      I can tell you it’s working perfectly so far and hasn’t needed to be cleaned yet even though it’s on a tank that’s heavily fed and full of large angelfish.

      @FishyReview Set one of them up last night on a 40 gallon It's so powerful for my small tropical fish.I think i'm gonna get rid of all my small fish and get a blood parrot cichlid and I will keep my rainbow shark and my bristlenose plecos 2 of them the filter now has destroyed a lot of my plants in 12 hours but so far I am happy with it though for sure

    I used to be a Marineland filter fanboy from when the first bio wheels came out, but no more. I have the Magniflow 220 I got new just a few years ago and one of the rubber tips on the impeller shaft got misshapen so it started to make a lot of noise. They do not make/sell the impeller anymore. I diyed a solution, but not the point. I thought companies were supposed to make spare parts for 10 years after a product was discontinued. Anyway, I am on the Eheim/Fluval bandwagon now. Too bad cause I liked the Marineland and they were less expensive.

      It sure would be nice to be able to get parts like we used to be able to do. It's a lot harder now for most brands, especially with most local fish stores having gone extinct.
