Hi! I'm the creator of this fangame. Thank you so much for playing this! It's still a WIP, but I haven't stopped working and I will have more updates on this game soon.
@@evenmorebetter Sonic R and 3D Blast both sucked, Sonic Jam was only a compilation of the Genesis games, and Saturn overall did very poorly here in the US. (Japan obviously did better.)
this is an interesting concept to be sure but needs more time and love. I would like to see more like this completed working on actual hardware but we'll see. Good work.
I remember a few years ago there was a demo of level 1 sonic 1 on psx, and there was almost perfect physics. Is it related to this project or another development? It seems to me that it would be logical to continue that project, since everything was well done there (Translator)
Not sure I get it, why wouldn't Sonic physics be feasible on PS1 hardware? There shouldn't be limitations on 32bit consoles and later that would pose a problem for such a game.
What? This isn't what Sony wanted for us. Paraphrasing: "We do not want 2D games on our system. 2D is outdated technology and 3D is the future! Anything done in 2D can be done in 3D!" Anyone remember this nonsense coming out of Sony's piehole? I don't remember who said it, but it was someone from Sony at a podium in the late 90's. If anyone can point me in the right direction in finding video of this, I would appreciate it. I know we can't post links in TH-cam comments, but we can post what text to search for. Thank you in advance.

This is super impressive, good job
Great work, now you should implement Sonic’s most beloved sidekick… Omochao.
With this being open sourced, this might inspire a ps1 port of Sonic 1 and maybe Sonic Cd
oR NEW PS1 FANGames
@ That too
I’d rather a recreation of Sonic Mania tbh
or even, *gasp* Classic Sonic Simulator on PS1!
@@Randi_MyManThat wouldnt actually be possible since you cannot make online servers on PS1 so it would only be like a Sonic Maker but without online
It's a shame the slopes aren't implemented fully but the fact this is running is already amazing
So lemme get this straight, GTA ||| got ported to Dreamcast and Sonic semi got ported to PS1 yesterday
Yup, before GTA 6 came out
and there's also sonic robo blast for the 32X!
and theres CS 1.6 being ported to PS2 too
6:27 this would of been a great level concept
I think something similar is in superstars
Actually this level is a recreation of one I made in Sonic Worlds Level Collab many years ago. Same graphics, same concept, almost the same layout. :)
The ahmen breaks and enya music really hints at a time period.
90’s DRUM AND BASS HEAVEN
Aside from the horribly unstable physics, this is a really fresh take, and it looks really cool
Quite fascinating to see Sonic on PS1
Especially when it seemed like it was so difficult to get him on the Saturn 👀
Same
@@evenmorebetter Sonic R and 3D Blast both sucked, Sonic Jam was only a compilation of the Genesis games, and Saturn overall did very poorly here in the US. (Japan obviously did better.)
@@vanniudo kkkkkkkkkk
This made me realize how beautiful ps1 looks
And with this boys... The humanity finally can create.. Sonyc The hedgehog... The true ultimate life for.
So much potential unfolds here if this engine gets even more tweaks.
WE'RE OUTSELLING THE SATURN WITH THIS ONE 🗣🗣🗣
sonic 1 for the playstation is like putting vib-ribbon on the dreamcast
Umm that is actually possible just search "bleem" it was a software from the 90s which you could sort of port ps1 games to the dreamcast
this is an interesting concept to be sure but needs more time and love. I would like to see more like this completed working on actual hardware but we'll see. Good work.
Sonic on the PS1 feels like a whole vibe

Oi! Sou o criador desse fangame.
5:41 Did this fangame reference an obscure SNES bootleg???
Pretty sure "Wood Zone" is an unused level from Sonic 2's prototype.
Unless "Surely Wood Zone" is a reference to something...
The music is straight from that Sonic 4 bootleg on SNES
@Kitsuna_Gacha Surely Wood is a level in the Speedy Gonzales game that was hacked to make the infamous Sonic 4 SNES bootleg.
@electronicecstasy Oh! My b ^^'
Why was I expecting 32-bit 3D Sonic
Fan-game from 200X
Man I can already smell ALL classic Sonic games coming to PS1 also does this work on a real hardware ?
yes, but you have to wait for redhotsonic's video on it for more details.
@ Good then hope we get Sonic Mania tho
The heavy amens bro
Camera is a bit too close in tbh. Would love if it zoomed out a bit. But sonics always felt claustraphobic to me. until recently.
Imagine a Sonic game in Rayman 1 graphics..
So that means we might finally get Sonic Jam for PS1?
Should've shown of different first zone. But very nice !
I love this Proof of concecpt, as soon as i thought about sonic on ps1 this video popped up 0.0
Could use some blast processing on those hills.
Good job and nice nod to Sonic 4 on Snes (Speedy Gonzales hack)

I felt like Sonic XA was inspired by the canceled Sonic 1 PS1 port
Love the Sonic CD inspiration
Looks like it runs better than it would run on the Sega cd
Bro this is dope
Welp, with this and PSXFunkin', i might need to pick the ps1 language back up and try to learn it again
Oof. The Sonic CD jump sound. 😩
Ta em desovolvimeto ainda as fase ?
the song at 3:06 ?
Let Mom Sleep (from Jet Set Radio)
@@dj-sx4710 absolute legend thank you
is there a Super Mario engine for the Sega Saturn?
This is amazing
What’s the first song?
We now should make Sonic.ISO game clearly like Sonic.EXE
O god it's SO COOL!
Sonic on plaything?!?!?
This is so cool. Can you play it on a real PlayStation? The music is so good
Not sure I get it, why wouldn't Sonic physics be feasible on PS1 hardware? There shouldn't be limitations on 32bit consoles and later that would pose a problem for such a game.
El ROM para descargar?
Sonic CD^2 i guess
nice, i can even play on my ps3
Was it in error that dithering is turned on for the background?
nice effort, ps1 is well suited to these graphics
Can this be used to make a Sonic game for PSX?
Yeah obviously
well, its open-source,but there is some social media about him at the game page if u wanna talk to him
DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hooraaaah
Cool

🎉wow
the title is an amenbreak
10/10
Well...I wait sonic engine for atari Jaguar
Sonic SNES anyone?
Port it Saturn
Why on Playstation and not on Saturn?
Saturn is hard as hell to develop for compared to the ps1 and n64 these days.
Saturn already has them in Sonic Jam, it'd be pointless to port them over again but without the 3D world option.
30th anniversary PlayStation 😅
Quem É Brasileiro?
Eu
@Evolution_BR811 Finalmente
I approve the copious use of the Amen Break.
Why do they *_always_* use the Sonic CD sound fx?!
