Thanks for the amazing review. My Nilfisk c120.3 died last week. Had it for over 10 years and I thought my next is gonna be Nilfisk again, however. I don't like the new design of Nilfisk core line. So I was gonna get Karcher obviously. Tried K4, K5 and it felt cheap and even though more powerful on the paper than my nilfisk. My old Nilfisk was far superior IMO. In the end I've decided to go with AVA. The only dilemma right now is whether to go with Easy P57 or Smart P60 🤔. Both are on offer at around £220 now

Personally I'd get the Easy, because you get the longer hose and the premium foam lance, which are far better. You can also upgrade the hose the steel reinforced one on the Easy at a later date of you chose to, but out of the box it is better equipped.
As a tip, use my link in the description and buy through Amazon so you've got their customer service, as opposed to Ava - Ava is fine but it's taking a bit longer to respond and resolve issues at the moment, where as Amazon is near instant; so if you've got any issues soon after purchasing then you'll get them resolved more quickly.
I don't think you will have any issues by the way, but it's worth making your life easier and the price is the same.

I bought a P57 a couple of weeks ago and I am more than happy with it. It is light and easy to set up. The 12m hose is excellent. I also bought the premium foam cannon set and with my last wash I used Autoglym Polar Blast, Polar Wash and Polar Seal. The three bottles allowed me to mix each product before I used them. My old stubby gun and MJJC foam cannon are now redundant!

Glad to hear that! I really like the ease of it all, and then to find that the bundled foam cannon is so good as well, it's fantastic! And of course now you've got two cannons, so you can use one just for the sealant, which is a good thing.

Without doubt one of the fairest ( I'm not shoving it down your throat ) reviewers on TH-cam. One of only a handful of channels I genuinely find informative and watch with interest. The AVA looks a decent machine for the price with it's very user friendly accessories. The DH Grey7 is serving me well and hopefully should last a good few years with a yearly oil change, it's permanently set up in the garage on it's own bracket. Next purchase will be a better quality stubby gun and some nozzles.

    • @SuperchargedLlama

Thank you (as always). It's a long old video this one so I appreciate people sticking around and the commenting too!
That Grey 7 is a fantastic bit of kit, it's just the DH customer service that puts me off. Of course, being local, you've got the ability to doorstep them and that makes a huge difference!
I wonder if there's a way of having the hose you've got, but with a Nilfisk end? Then you'd be able to have the Ava accessories without an adapter...and it's those accessories that properly swing it for me towards the Ava. I'm very curious to see what Nilfisk have done with their new ones, as they look different.

Excellent comparison. My Nilfisk is 5 years old now and has been very reliable. This year it played up after being stored away for winter, most likely I didn’t get all the water out. Been thinking about upgrading it with a stubby gun and new 10m hose from hoses direct.
I have also considered replacing it with a AVA. So it’s eirther a £70 upgrade on my 5 year old system vs £300ish for a new system. So your comparison has come along at the right time, thank you.

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I absolutely get that. Can I just say that you shouldn't buy from direct hoses; I've purchased from them twice, two years apart, and both times I've had problems. The customer service is abysmal - I had to raise a dispute with PayPal (luckily I used that payment method) to get some money back in the end.
Plenty of other places sell hoses and stubby guns, Clean Your Ride being one I'd definitely recommend. The concern I have for you is that if you've got it playing up already, you'll likely have to replace it at some point in the not too distant future?
Buuuuuut I also understand that the hose and gun is far cheaper!

Good job Adrian, like the person below said, a more objective view of the AvA, and less pushing it as an influencer, thank you. What i also appreciated was you confirning that it's a relatively new brand, at least to the UK, and therefore it's impossible to look at the brand without years of use, I may be wrong but no one else has had the good grace to do that. Im my world, my little K3 is 6m old and shouldn't need replacing for a good while and, it does a perfectly good job. @@SuperchargedLlama You did a great job and I was so impressed, I was on the cusp of pulling the trigger on a purchase of the Easy P40 (the P57 is unfortunately "out of stock" but I suspect the P40 is all I really need in reality) when, just out of curiosity, I had a quick look into the availability of warranty / service kits on AVA's UK website... and disappointingly, it immediately became apparent that most of these kits are also "out of stock" which is worrying for a direct to public sales business... especially for a new brand that you'd think hasn't seen to much consumption of service kits yet.
I loved all the blurb about AVA's "right to repair" ethos and cheap access to spare parts but this only creates tangible value when a level of certainty can actually be assumed around reliable availability of said parts in the future.
Any idea what's up with their manufacturing / supply chain? They don't seem to be "walking the walk"... but maybe there is a valid reason and this is only a temporary blip?
I wrote to customer support expressing my concern and got an automated email back:
"Unfortunately our response time is longer than usual, approx 14 days. We will answer your inquiry as soon as possible. May 17 and May 18 are Bank Holidays in Norway."
A 14 day response time is pretty abysmal.... and they haven't even bothered to update the (now past) Norway Bank Holiday dates.

Thanks for the video. I'm debating which to buy, AVA or Nilfisk. Had a Nilfisk C range for 6 months from Costco and it started pulsing, sent it back for a full refund as Nilfisk didn't want to fix it, either refurb or refund.
Costco have the E160 HX TRA for £350, but it does show up with a discount sometimes, may go for that.
Ava look great but as you say, the company is new so the 10 and 20 year warranty doesn't have the same weight as Nilfisk offering 5 years. Also seen some detailers say there are quality issues and microswitch issues with some Ava's.
    Difficult choice!

    • @SuperchargedLlama

I am with you there tough choices!
I feel like any issues with the Ava's should be okay for now, as the company is operating and doing well, but that doesn't mean a whole lot does it. It's the accessories that swings it for me, they are just much better with Ava.
I'll be interested to see what this new Nilfisk Excellent 160 is like, it's got the sort of design language of the new Core series, but the internals of the E line.
The sweet spot is the Ava accessories fit the Nilfisk hose....the onboard storage won't work, but then you've get an amazing setup.

As a thought with the snow foam issue of the feed tube, could you swap out the MJJC weighted bottle feed tube to it. It should work on the smaller one but not sure for the milkshake bottle. Could that work? are the specs similar enough to work.

@@SuperchargedLlama I'm from Portugal so buying from the UK is not viable nor they send it to my country. Ideally it would have to be from Amazon since it's the only place that gives free shipping.

How much autofoam did you put into your Ava snow foam canon?

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  ปีที่แล้ว

Enough for 4% PIR (panel impact ratio) - that varies from machine to machine, but in this case I believe it was 200ml in 500ml of total solution.

So what pressure washer do u use

This one now, unless I'm having to run off my generator, then I use my Nilfisk C135 is it draws less power and doesn't stress the generator as much. The P57's draw is a bit marginal for it, so it trips out sometimes.
Unless I'm reviewing something else, I'll generally use the Ava. Mainly for the lance and foam cannon tbh, love them!

@SuperchargedLlama does the ava have plenty of flow rate compared to your nilfisk ihave a core 140 but when I looked at actual bar
Pressure it only runs at 100 bar

@@leighrowberry61 funnily enough I was looking at the sticker on the back of it yesterday, as I've got a Nilfisk P200 to review at the moment as well. I'll need to check again for the flow rate, but I think the standard operating pressure was more like 100bar (peak being 150bar or something) - let me check this morning and confirm.
If feels fine in use btw
