Samsung Refrigerator in 2021: How to Find Error Codes, Troubleshooting, Forced Defrost and More!

- I was fortunate enough to be able to get a brand new Samsung French Door refrigerator with the newest style interface that seems to be very common. In this video, I want to show you how perform Samsung Refrigerator Diagnostics, reveal and delete Samsung Refrigerator Error Codes, and deal with some Samsung Refrigerator Troubleshooting and repair.
I also have the Service Manual available for this particular refrigerator. I believe most of the content in this will be relevant for your Samsung Refrigerator Service Manual.

Excellent video! I was able to diagnose the fan went took a poop. It was an easy swap. However, in doing the swap my ice maker quit working. Puzzling any thoughts?

Hey ben i have a new bespoke rf29bb. The top fridge section wont cool right. The rest wotks great aka freezer dual ice makers flex zone. My temp set to 34 but ink bird 3 probes wont go below 41. Normally 41-45 degree f. If i force cool it goes down to 35. Any suggestions.

I called Samsung and they told me it was the ice maker. We do have problems with it but the fridge is supe loud and now wont cool.

Thanks for this video. Nothing else I’ve seen addresses this Samsung interface.
My RF28R6201SR works correctly except for 2 problems.
1 - it cheerfully chirps at random times, though mainly when we’re nearby. If I open the door quickly at these times it’s displaying the codes “on” followed by “Ar” in the fridge area of the display.
2 - I’m unable to do anything using the interface panel. I can’t change temperature, unlock the panel, run diagnostics etc.
Samsung customer service said I must be mistaken but gave me the local service agents info. The agent said the codes are impossible and that I didn’t know how to read the display. After I sent them a video of the problem they said they could come out and look at it but it might be a long process of trial and error.
Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Ben, help please! I cleaned the refrigerator today and the light went off, I assume because had the doors open for about 20 mins. Now, a few hours later, no interior lights at ref or freezer go on and the side interior control panel has no digital display. Please help me out!
I have no ice buildup and a 39 c code. So would a tech just replace the ice maker? TY in advance. Reset didn't work. Unplugged didn't work.

I have this refrigerator I cannot get the freezer temperature to stay @ 0 it defaults back to 70 with an indication light next to it. Also the refrigerator was just moved and the doors had to be removed is there something small I may have missed

I have another question about my Samsung refrigerator. Iam not getting any ice made it’s not frozen up. I was told it was a water valve in the ice maker because it’s not getting water . My question is , is the water valve in the ice maker or is it outside the ice maker? I was told the problem is the valve isn’t sending a signal to the circuit board that’s why Iam not getting ice. Refrigerator part lights will not shut off. I have to put it in sabbath mode to stay cool. I have replaced all 3 magnets and sensors that are suppose to shut off the top lights. Please Help with an advise if possible.

Thanks for the video. I have the 2022 model. Just replaced the the filter but the damned filter light still keeps flashing. I don't know how to stop it from flashing.

What would cause this fridge to not go below 41° and also drip water in the drip tray under the fridge . If you are looking at the back of the fridge it's the left drain that is dripping. Thank you
I have this exact Samsung .
It is working but seems to be stuck in sabbath mode. No lights inside and the control panel is not lit up. Any secret to fix this. I tried to turn off using the 2 bottom buttons on the panel. The manual says 85 hrs once it activates. Any suggestions?

If ice maker makes ice but won’t dispense it through door (yet water dispenser does work), is it more likely a bad auger motor assembly or the in-door dispenser switch at fault?
Check temperature in cabinet. Sometimes it won't run automatically if it's too warm
Is it work for a 25 e error?
What if it won't go into manual test / self diag mode no matter how long you hold down Fridge+Flexzone?

Quick question. I only want to defrost my ice maker. If I put my refrigerator in fd mode will it also defrost and melt everything in my bottom freezer along with ice maker?? I don’t want to to defrost my freezer at the bottom.
Its not going to melt anything. Each system has a thermostat that will turn the heater off when it reaches a temperature that could warm up the cabinet beyond your evaporator coils. Otherwise, the fresh food option should just to top fridge/icemaker and not freezer.

Hi, I want to see the error codes if any, my control panel do not have flex zone button to press simultaneously with Fridge button. My display panel is above water panel on front side
is there a way to only force defrost the ice maker? otherwise this a very helpful video
A few models do have that but most don't. You just want to use the full system defrost. If the other compartments don't need defrosted, the sensors will shut them off pretty fast.
The temperature in freeze part is showing 3 degrees instead of 4 degrees

So my ice maker won’t come out and it’s probably froze up and needs defrosted. I held in fridge and flexzone and got it in fd. It’s now beeping. How long do I need to wait? Does this sound correct to defrost the ice maker? Thanks.
Let it run for 20-30min. it SHOULD unthaw the icemaker. If it doesn't, try the other forced defrost mode as well.

@@adamwoerner5567 yes, if its in really awful shape. If it doesnt work after 3-4 tries, you'd want to try a garmet steamer to blow steam in to rip the ice out.

Yeah I have the same problem. I am getting c13 & c40. But I can't reset because the buttons don't work. I call Samsung and I have to get someone to come fix it. I changed the humidity sensor and the code still pops up. I had a power outage & the c40 came when the power came back on. This sucks

This is my problem
No codes ever show but condenser fan (one in the back, by the compressor) never runs. Voltage across the fan is 0.4V. Replaced control board but no change in behavior. Anybody have any ideas?
I've learned something about my problem on a Samsung refrigerator that won't reliably cool but the freezer works fine. Something with the ambient temperature / humidity sensor!

Funny my fridge looks identical, same inside panel, same door panel, same water dispenser, same thermostat control panel, but my rear main panel board looks NOTHING like this one, not even remotely close.
I just replaced the fan and the sensor the goes with it. Our fan wasn't working now it is. But now same issues. Fridge only gets down to 40 and freezer is at 28. Now I have codes that say , 40 ca, 63 c3, and e5 e8. What's this crap going on now. Thanks

I'm at 42° at the top fridge and the freezer is at -4 , the flex zone is at 28° . This is an empty fridge also.
Could it be that there isn't enough refridgerant in the system? My freezer is now at 19 fridge at 48.

My water pitcher won't fill but the water dispenser works
I don't know if you ever fixed this issue, but I had the same problem, and found a video to fix it, you just need to clean the pitcher every time you use it, it drips water and that triggers the sensor and stops the water from working, hope it helps

Samsung refrigerators are junk I will never buy another one, ever since I bought it I've been repairing it,ice maker, twin cooling fan assembly that's mounted on the back of the refrigerator just constantly working on this piece of junk. I finally found the fix for this junk box, throw it out and buy a different brand.
