- I thought I make this video to answer a number of questions about the ice maker to address a number of questions including how the ice maker works to how long to get ice.
Once you set up the fridge, you'll want to connect the water line to the fridge and turn on the water to the fridge. Make sure the water line is tight without leaks before pushing the fridge into the wall. If there are kinks in the waterline, the water pressure can be reduced. So check for those items while installing the fridge water line.
It can take up to 24 hours to get ice but I found it was more like around 12 hours for us.
In order to change any of the ice maker settings, you'll need to unlock the panel first. The panel is designed to be child-proof so the kid wouldn't be able to change the temperature and spoil the food in the fridge.
If you don't plan to use the ice maker for long periods of time, it's best to empty out the ice from the ice maker box. I'll show you how to open the icebox in this video.
I'll show how easy it is to unlock the panel and change the Ice Maker settings.

Yes, I was told when I received my refrigerator that it was best to run at least 3 gallons of water through it before drinking and dumping ice 3 times or something like that ; ) Something to do with cleaning the lines or filter out.

Very helpful. I couldn’t figure out the controls either and was unaware of the Hold lock for 3 seconds. My drawer ice maker has stopped producing ice. We’ve had the same model as this video for less than 1 month. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thanks, check if the ice feature is enabled. Check the water line. Is there water going your way the fridge? Is the ice box clogged? Please see if you pull it out to look.
I just bought a 3 door model and my freezer ice tray has yet to produce ice. The top one is producing ice though it’s been about 48 hours since install

I recall we setup our fridge around 7pm and we woke up the next day around 8-10am and it was making ice.
If I don’t have it connected to a water valve can I just pour water in the ice maker myself ? Or will that mess it up ?

My ice maker only makes a small amount of ice and then stops. I have hit the reset button in the ice maker and heard one chime and I just changed the filter. Water pressure is good. Any suggestions
Some fridge models have an adjustment for to change the ice size.
Where is the latch located? Do I pull it towards me or down? I have pulled, pushed and nothing budges. Can you post a picture of the latch. Thank you?
See the video at 1:19-1:20. I'm unable to post picture. Once you put the finger there you can feel it. If it's not frozen, you can click it and open the ice tray.
Ice maker is jammed and will not dispense ice. Ice drawer will not come out even after pulling with considerable force in same manner as you did. Therefore I assume ice has also jammed the drawer, and I need to defrost the entire unit to remove the drawer and clear the jam. I "turned off" Ice maker using the control panel on the right side. Will that initiate a defrost of the Ice maker?
Turn it off to see if it's better the next day. The MAX drawer should come out when you unlatch the trigger on the bottom of the MAX drawer then pull it out.

This is what I’m going thru the ice thing is stuck I used a knife as well hammer and still nothing so I just turned it off as well with the ice maker- did you have any luck
@@carlahunter2758 No luck. My repairman said these ice making units are failing in huge numbers. He said he could replace the maker with a $500 replacement, but it might not work. Today we are making ice in trays!!

Those are water, cubed ice, crushed ice and lock water functions.
My ice make is working but it only making cubed ice not Ice bites.I also have selection for both on.Any idea on how to fix issue?
There are only crushed or cubed ice. Probably try emptying the ice maker out and let it make new ice. Hard to tell remotely.

I have that same model I was having problems. With the filter , I replaced it , but the light on the panel are turned off so I won’t let me change it to icec crushed or water. It’s locked into one thing , how do I make it work again ?
If you hold that button for 3 seconds, it should unlock that ice/water one.
@@netman88 oh yeah but I’m talking about the one at the left door , is not beeping when I click or having the steady blue light on top of water /cubed/crushed , it’s so weird

@@netman88 it looks like we have the same fridge but I don’t see a latch to pull the ice out .. just the hole where the ice come out of 😭😭😭 I don’t want to break it
All the Ice options say ON. It stopped making ice right after we completely emptied in to fill a cooler. The water lines look connected. I’ve done a freezer reset but it said it may take 24 hours to start producing ice again.

you know i wonder if the majority of ice complaints are because people don't use it very often, or as often as they should since samsung says clean out the ice bin if you do not use it regularly.
In my 12 year old Samsung fridge, the ice maker got plenty of use, but the trays cracked in various ways, causing water to just drain and freeze into the freezer. Old fridge I know, but replaced the tray twice. Easy swap, but still makes you wonder :P

If you have the water line connected to the fridge, it should be able to make ice. No other water is needed.
Can I add water manually ? Without connecting to the pipe ?

I've tried everything to troubleshoot why I am not getting ice. I recently replaced the filter, hoping that was the issue. But to no avail. Any suggestions?
Did you get water first out of the water dispenser? If so, try to slide the ice box out (latch on the bottom of the unit) to see if the ice are stuck together. If not, see if the water line is clogged or there's a bent on the water line.

Is the water working? If not, check the water line if it's bended or the water is turned on.
What are the three symbols for where it says icemaker on it shows like a cup with one ice cube two and three and then a lock button

I bought a 3 door samsung fridge with two ice makers, one in the fridge and another in the freezer, the top one works fine but the bottom hasn't made any ice since I plugged it in 3days ago...can anyone help me with this??

Yes I can get water and ice from the top...I came to give an update tho, I held the test switch down for a couple of seconds and it turned on sort of lol...ice came out but not much, I will give it some time and see how it works

Check the water line for bends that lowers the water flow. Are you getting good water pressure?
How do you defrost the ice maker
There's no defrost mode I learned, need to unplug to defrost.
How do you turn on the freezer ice maker on the bottom?

If you could please help me out I have two issues. The first one is the water dispenser is too slow there’s barely any water coming out and then second one is the pitcher is not filling up completely It fills up less than half way
Check the water line to the fridge. The water pressure maybe weak or clogged. I don't think the pitcher fill works correctly on my fridge, not sure if supported for that feature.
What if my ice maker is on but water and ice is not working from my fridge ?

Sounds like a different model. Maybe try unplugging fridge for a 2 mins and pull back in, maybe it would help.

Is it stuck? see if you can open the freezer tray to remove the stuck piece. I ran into that issue and fixed it

@@N8tSpits Check if no ice cube is stuck on the ice maker. If not, probably need to call appliance repair to see it in person and troubleshoot further.
I have the same fridge and the ice it makes is awful for the price of the fridge. Kind of disappointing
Mine fridge ice maker works fine. It’s not a good as dedicated ice machine though.
