Edit: I did a follow-up video for people that have issues here: th-cam.com/video/iEa5n_x5h3o/w-d-xo.html _________________________________________________________________________________________ For the people that have mana issues/problems that they run out of mana flask before killing bosses, here's the solution: - Upgrade your rings slot with flat damage, flat damage scale very well with this build, and I suggest getting a new ring at around level 28, and at level 44 just before the final act 3 boss - Put Lightning Infusion / Soul Thief / Execute in your melee attack to help finish off the boss if you do run out of mana - Can anoint rings with Price of Freedom (you can use the same build/item on your next character) if you want For people that die a lot/ can't progress: - We do a lot of damage so you can kill the enemy before they kill you - Upgrade your gears if you can't dodge stuff, remember how brutal this game is the first time you play it. Campaign is not easier with twink gears, and this build is no exception. We do damage, we don't tank damage unless you keep your gear up-to-date
Some recommended improvements: Ghostwrithe tattered robe scales VERY well with this build because it gives 50% of your massive health pool to energy shield. Instead of doing the spirit robe which makes the glass cannon factor worse, with 60 spirit you can just quickly disable herald of thunder when fighting bosses as elemental invocation is only super important when bossing, it takes 2 seconds to right click one then the other and 2 seconds to switch back after the boss. This way you can wear ghostwrithe robe and keep your tankiness. This lets you have a SUPER tanky energy shield that gives you a lot more leeway and you don't have to change gear. Also: damage on the staff has to be lightning adding physical sucks. Chaos damage actually seemed to work pretty well, but lightning is definitely the best (which you did recommend). Unfortunately the cost of lightning damage modified staves is like upwards of 20ex right now.
I got to level 50 on my invoked monk and wanted to level an alt. This guide is the best I have seen and it made leveling the new character fun. The step by step levels for gear and gems really made this guide stand out. Cost me around 15 exalted to get all the items. Even for a PoE beginner like me was able to follow along. Keep up the great work, wish I can support you so you keep making these great guides.
Well I found my Tuber for life. Working for me very well. I could not get through act 2. I got some of the gear you suggested and now I am flying. You got a new sub. Awesome vid ty🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤.
@LazyExile the bow and xbow were for my 2nd and 3rd chars respectively (my first and still my main was a Bloodmage). Going melee on the last three should round it out nicely. :) I refuse to believe we'll forever be unable to respec ascendancies so I'm still only making one of each base class.
I feel like it's something that would be easy to change, so they purposely not implementing it means they are really firm on that stands, which is really sad
Hi Lazy, wanted to say thanks again, i've been coming back to this video alot whenever i want to level any characters, and the fact that you done the mobalytics on each character is so much effort, just want to say thanks
I see a lot of haters in the comments, but I just tried this myself and did a merc from 1-65 in less than 9hrs ... it was fantastic. Great build guide, very easy to scale!! You did mention the important bits in the guides, upgrade those rings/gloves if you can, that flat damage make a world of difference. I will say it starts to fall off at the end of the campaign unless you have really great upgrades, but that's expected in a leveling build. Hope to see more guides!
Thanks for trying it out! Unless the hate comment is just pure hate, I usually reply and try to understand what can be improve 😊 I definitely use my own version and play test on my own 100% so it definitely works!
Great vid and guide! Works like a charm -- I am on my 5th character through the campaign and this has been the smoothest strat so far. I did tweak a bit based on my experience with my exploding crit wave monk -- I have a Polcirkeln unique ring -- so I slotted Herald of Ice early. EZPZ explode whole screens when using Ice Strike with its cold damage. For this to work with Charged Staff/ Storm Wave/ Tempest Flurry you need to apply more cold damage to compensate for the loss of Ice Strike. On Monk there are passives you can take (in ascendany and on tree) that give more cold. I solved for this by adding cxold infusion to charged staff to infuse my attacks with more cold damage. So far so good. For bossing I just stick to Storm Wave for charges, Tempest Flurry + Bell for burst.
adding a bit more button for more comfy gameplay sounds ok, but I think you can achieve the same thing building full ice monk as well. I just though storm wave is pretty cool and decided to go with lightning monk 😊
This is amazing. I have done a lot of alt leveling, and I consider fast to be all 6 acts in about 12-14 hours. Sub 10 is definitely speeding through it, and especially if you're not a "speedrunner"
the mana issue usually come from tempest flurry, before unlocking ball lightning and get your invocation setup, you should just use ice strike + bell or just storm wave + charged staff to clear boss
you got another subscriber in me sis. will for sure be using this build for all my alt characters. really loved the build for the gemling mercenary as well. it saved my life, lol. was stuck on level 1 maps with not enough dps. I'm crushing it now. will be looking for updates all the time.
Graeat guide, thanks! Will try it at holidays, got every unique drops on main, wanted to level alt and this banger guide dropped at right time😊 Happy holidays, cheers!
Great video. I might have another option for the setup Gear: I use Pillar of the caged god (same as you) + the Polcirkeln (ring) ...(you can make it stronger with grip of winter -bracers) For spells you can use your setup but only use icestrike + Tempest bell (nother else is needed) for a bit higher lvl i would change icestrike to : icestrike -> concentrated effects + martial tempo + Primal Armament
I have seen a lot of recommendation for the ice strike setup, and apparently is very strong. I think I'll try it out the next time I reroll another character. However, the ring is a bit more expensive so there's that
One small change I've made while running a very similar setup (caged god) is using concentrated effect over crescendo - its a melee ability so the area of effect loss isnt much at all, but it makes it do 40% more damage overall, its insane!

If I may add, using a mist whisper makeshift crossbow(unique) slotted with 2 cold damage runes allows you to easily breeze through act 1 and portions of act 2 as well, it is very comfy to run when you lack aoe early on in the game
got all the uniques, followed the guide to a tee, got the best mana pots i could get and was all going ok until i hit the dreadnought part. was having to port back after every enemy encounter to fill my mana pots up. After so many deaths i finally made it to the dreadnought boss and couldnt even dent his health.
Yes, this build is really bad. Hits like a wet noodle, and has 0 survive, I guess if you have someone else carrying you thru everything then its fine, but if you playing this solo, its a rough time after about 3/4 thru act 2.
sorry about that, I didn't stressed the fact that you should upgrade your ring with flat damage enough, but if you have problem. Make sure you grab 2 cheap rings from trade site for 1 ex each with flat damage
@bakes82 Works great-just need a couple of exalts (thanks, inflation) for flat damage rings with % Strength, % Lightning Damage, and flat Lightning Damage. I went with Lightning + flat damage. Currently cruising through Act 3 with no issues; most packs die in one shot. Way smoother than the 'intended' Sorc Spark leveling build. Every build needs tweaking depending on gear and tree choices-YMMV. As you level past the starter framework, consider what nodes to pick up. I’m on a Sorc, so I grabbed Lightning Quick, Branching Bolts, and am pathing to Alternating Currents for mana regen QoL. With Kitoko's Current gloves and shock nodes stacked, everything (including bosses) gets stunned for 5 seconds, making it easy to drop a bell and go to town. It’s an almost-glass cannon build but holds up fine for the campaign. Just play the boss mechanics, and you’ll be golden. Good luck!
Ah that's great! Yeah personally I think sometimes we forget how brutal the campaign was xD I finish the 1st playthrough the campaign with like 100 deaths
you can turn it off after socket in Electrocute and start using Charged Staff. I didn't do it until way later at level 40, and replace it with Overwhelming Presence. I think with Kitoko's, you can use normal storm wave without Electrocute? I haven't tried that gloves out yet
So I have cold runes socketed in my staff instead of lighting. Will that work fine, or is it worth getting another staff for and adding lighting runes? This is the best guide I’ve seen yet for this game. Keep it up!
@@LazyExile Thank you. Makes sense, just rushed through the guide. For survivability, I see most of our resistances are negative with very little armor. Which pieces are ok to replace to add some max health, armor, res, etc... Thanks!
Ok, tell me if I'm missing something. Leveling up with Ranger, the guide says to, at lvl 26 get elemental invocation and socket it with ball lightining. Except ball light is a lvl 41 spell with 95 int. So I change nothing until lvl 41 and respect to int? Thanks
yea the written guide is a bit cooked, I changed it though. In the video, I mentioned you'll get it in act 3, so at level 41 when ball lightning is unlocked yes. You should, and can also fix int with gear
Been playing this on my alt and it's great! Found a way to improve it though, with the 3 Dragons Solid Mask (cheap to buy) + Ice Herald. This will make it easier to build energy for Elemental Invocation, gives you an additional CC with freeze while keeping electrocute, and gives even better AoE damage for clearing with ice herald. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
@@LazyExile I had trouble sustaining mana on act 2 final boss too. What I did was change the gloves, rings and amulet to have my mana up from ~190 to ~300 and also I went with ice strike instead of Tempest Flurry. TF costs 16 vs IS cost of 12 and IS has a hundred more DPS compared to TF even with zero support gems and that skyrockets once you add support gems. I think mana problem comes from the belt 50% increased charges used. It's unnoticeable during regular fight but very much an issue during boss fight where you have no or very little means to fill your mana flask. But all in all - a very fun build especially in the begining, thank you )
I actually didn't recommended tempest flurry until we get the invocation and ball lightning combo setup, which is around level 41, maybe I need to write that down in the note section. Thanks!
@@LazyExile oh? Makes sense. Though your 1-30 guide section on mobalytics does show TF. Actually the whole rotation section in the end of 1-30 part is a bit confusing.
Ice Strike Pillar str stacking is better for Leveling. Ice strike + shattering palm both allow for inherited teleport to nearby mobs allowing for quicker movement through zones thus leveling faster. and also the DPS is insane with or without bell through the leveling process. no need to kill every mob in each zone. just go go go
Great explanation, although it would be good to get a bit more of a walkthrough with another class, e.g is there a specific node to path to first on the passive tree if I’m going monk? Great vid regardless s
I briefly touch on the passive skill trees, everything is pretty much beeline to Resonance, and pickup other damage nodes in the area. Resonance at level 31 when you pick up Charged Staff is the only thing you need to worry about on the passive skills tree
Firstrly thank you. The guide and videos are amazing and have helped my partner and I level a Sorc to Act 3 in no time. We are however struggling with one element. We have the Resonance node, we have slotted Electrocute in the Storm Wave skill and we have Combat Frenzy with Profusion activated and we are getting NO Tempest Bell charges at all!!! What are we doing wrong?
Early game, just use the staff melee hit, it clears fast and doesn't use any mana at all, you can use this untill ice strike. this is how i leveled my gemlin legionnaire
This did not work for me I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it was going very smooth until the end of act 3 normal where it fell off like crazy I couldn't sustain Manna at all the damage was abysmal and I couldn't get past the forge master I had it set up exactly like in the guide my gear was well rolled and my gloves and jewelry all had stats on them I honestly cannot tell what went wrong
Same about 3/4 thru act2 it becomes really rough, Im not in a3 thru the time portal and its basically unplayable, Ive basically had to ask for help for every boss since act 2 it seems.
hey there, sorry I didn't stress the fact that you just need to upgrade 2 of your rings with flat damage, the cheapest 1 ex you can find, and it'll boost your damage my miles
Would the physical damage iron runes be better to put in the quaterstaff? Since the skills scales off physical damage. Or does it scale the lightning runes damage up as well?
Great video and guide, but I've hit a wall on the final Act 2 boss. My damage is so lacking. Will level 33 flat damage rings really make a huge difference? That's all I'm missing from your guide right now. I basically run out of health pots before I get him below 30%.
flat is justice! those small numbers make a big difference. I went from not getting Viper below 50% to completely wiping the floor with her thanks to 2 1ex rings. just fish for 2 flat rolls and some life and you are set for most of the campaign.
there's not too much options for the jewels slot, but it's where you can grab some mana regen, quarterstaff attack speed, attack damage. There are certain area on the tree where you can socketed in the radius jewel, but that's about it. If you really want to juice it up, here's my suggestion: - Grab a corrupted lightning damage pillar with 2 lightning runes socketed - Grab good triple, or double flat damage rings (phys, lightning, +1) at level 30, 40, 50, 60 and you should be good The build itself does not requires a lot of juice items to make it good. If you want to go for tanky options, check out Ghostwrithe to get energy shield and will help you breeze through the campaign with 0 death probably.
Hi Im following this and just got to act 1 in cruel playing as a sorc but i feel a little weak tbh... str at 234, dex at 122, and int at 106.. any idea how to make it better? i have all the mandatory uniques and followed the guide exactly! also struggling with mana a bit
you should swap to black sun crest, and around act 1 cruel, you should have charged staff setup with storm wave. That should really clear everything in 1 or 2 sweep
yes, tempest flurry is only meant for single target, and you should kill anything within 2-3 bell rotation and mana flask should help with that. Otherwise, just storm wave should be fine
I would do this but I find it fun to experiment with each class weapon/skills. I would be bored to play same build for leveling over and over. No rush getting to endgame anyways.
Also do not get it twisted you can only electrocute if you have support in it or charged staff active meaning you cant use flurry late game it wont generate frenze / power charges shock is not electrocute
@@LazyExile both are there but wasn't working at all for me. I swapped everything to ice strike/cold/freeze and now im blazin through everything. Thanks for the reply though!
mana issue comes in 2 parts, you're not killing things fast enough, and you don't have enough mana regen. Which I'll tell you from my own experience is that I don't run any mana regen jewel, don't take/have any mana recover on kill or anything like that, and just kill things fast with more damage. You can get more damage from upgrading rings/gloves with more flat damage
It might just be me , but Sorc can't use Elemental Invocation (60) before mid act 3 when we kill the Witch and we must chose between that and Herald of Thunder (30) and Combat Frenzy (30). Unless we change weapons and put a wand and scepter combo which put the Quaterstaff build useless if we do that. :(
we can, elemental invocation is available at 26, but you need to wait for 41 to get ball lightning to pair with it anyway... and you're right, if you get unlucky with spirit gem drop, it might be a while til the next spirit gem drop from boss, which will delay your elemental invocation setup. I had to wait til level 46 because I couldn't get a spirit gem to drop with the last character I played xD
@@LazyExile Thanks for the reply, but it wasn't an issue of uncut spirit gems , I have severals , it was more of a Spirit ( Mana like ) since Sorc start with 0 Spirit , Freythorn gives 30 and the Witch in Act 3 as well, so it's 60 Spirit around level 40 or so. Appreciate the reply and the tips , love the build so far. Thanks
if you're lacking spirit, you can use Enfolding Dawn to helps. The body armour gives 100 spirit by itself. I just level a Sorc and didn't run into any issues similar to yours
@@LazyExilei just finished a level with this setup. The unique ring is decently expensive but it def lets you do some super satisfying clear. Especially on tight maps like dreadnought it literally can clear multiple screens of enemies with one shatter chain explosion.
jewels for stat stacker while leveling doesn't have a lot of options because later on they are using again the darkness. However, if you are leveling, you can just look for any useful mods like attack speed on quarterstaff, attack damage, elemental damage, global phys damage, etc.
Hey I followed your pathing for mercenary leveling with POTCG, Im in act 3 right now (lvl 41) and its brutal. I have the 15%str helm too, and spirit chest. Im super squishy and my dps is shit lol. Any tips?
hey, if you have any problem, just upgrade your ring with flat damage. I'll address this in my next video for better clarity. For now, you can check out this trade site link: www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Standard/avjjMnpfe
@@LazyExile uhhh, yeah flat ele dmg on ring made literal 1k+ dmg boost at lvl 41. Def huge help but the build is swallowing mana within like 5 hits. I dont have str belt or gloves so maybe that matters alot too?
I think ther's something wrong with the warrior one, lv 31 here but getting charge is so slow, also it consume a lot of mana. Alr have resonance and combat frenzy but can't even get charge
@@LazyExile in the sorceress variant, it's not mentioned in the act levelling guide under Act 3 section. It's in the gem links however. might want to update the description
man what a nice video and build i just got to act 2 dreadnaught with this, i dont know what im doing wrong but im not generating frenzy charges i have combat frenzy and resonance
you need electrocute on storm wave for your skill to electrocute, and that will give you frenzy charge via combat frenzy, and resonance will turn that into power charge
Isn't widowhail with the highest possible roll on the unique the best ? Like 305% bonus from quiver ? Even if you don't get a 305% anything that's 250% or above still carries you through right ? Then you just gotta spec into Lightning arrow and Rod.
technically, it's very tanky, and if you don't rush and upgrade your gears like normal hardcore gameplay, then it's good. This is because strength stack gives a lot of hp
So I did STR stack Gemling using this staff and skills. I got to Tier 3 maps deathless . YMMV since gemling is just OP when stat stacking and i used Ice Strike for the freeze. Gemling STR stacking has so much HP that it trivializes the campaign if you spend a few Ex getting flat damage on rings/gloves and res capping.
it was a breeze, I die a few time by going into a pack carelessly, but innately it's very tank so you just play safe in hardcore and you'll be fine. And what @TranceEmotion said pretty much, at least for the campaign you'll be fine!
there's not a lot of options for attribute stackers during leveling, just use anything that give damage like attack speed for quarterstaff, attack damage, global phys, etc.
pretty good so far, but dmg seems to fall off a ton by late act3 (not cruel). tried upgrading rings and gloves for flat dmg but mobs are still taking forever to die. tooltip dps is around 1700...idk if that's normals?
you might want to look for a decent flat damage rings, I show my 2 rings that I swap at level 52 and 55 in this video to clear cruel act 3, and you can see the damage I have in the clear. You might also miss out that I have 2 lightning damage rune socketed in my Pillar of the Cage God. Generally, flat damage is really good for this build
yea this setup won't come online til late act 3, I just mentioned that Elemental Invocation will be available, but you won't get to have the full single target skills until later
So for level 8 elemental Invocation to work, you need to be level 41 to use ball lightning, which you need to use as a support gem in order for elemental to even work... lol. Any way around this? Guide fails to mention this.
before getting ball lightning, you can just use tempest flurry and bell. for bosses: 1. use storm wave to electrocute boss and activate charged staff 2. nuke boss with just tempest flurry and bell or... just use storm wave
Quick edit, it does mention this, but the early part of the guide, 1-30 calls for elemental invocation as well, and does not mention that this will not work until 41 due to the ball lightning requirement. Thank you.
One other question, I noticed my charged staff no longer works. Im level 39, every skill socketed as per the guide, only thing Im missing is ball lightning for invocation. I noticed that since I enabled my herald of thunder my tempest flurry no longer generates charges, and neither does stormwave, whether i hit the bell or not. combat frenzy is there, resonance is there, all good, just no longer generating charges. Thanks!
PoE 2 is weird, but the clutch of your problem boil down to 2 issues: - Innate mana regen is 0, so you can try to grab some jewels with mana regen stats to help (also clarity support gem helps) - Get more damage (in this case, flat damage on rings and glove should help). Use my tips on the other video to search for a ring upgrade
you should upgrade your damage a bit with flat damage ring + weapon flat lightning rune so you kill enemy faster, and therefore no mana problem. If you want, you can path to the node "Siphon" earlier
Edit: I did a follow-up video for people that have issues here: th-cam.com/video/iEa5n_x5h3o/w-d-xo.html
_________________________________________________________________________________________
For the people that have mana issues/problems that they run out of mana flask before killing bosses, here's the solution:
- Upgrade your rings slot with flat damage, flat damage scale very well with this build, and I suggest getting a new ring at around level 28, and at level 44 just before the final act 3 boss
- Put Lightning Infusion / Soul Thief / Execute in your melee attack to help finish off the boss if you do run out of mana
- Can anoint rings with Price of Freedom (you can use the same build/item on your next character) if you want
For people that die a lot/ can't progress:
- We do a lot of damage so you can kill the enemy before they kill you
- Upgrade your gears if you can't dodge stuff, remember how brutal this game is the first time you play it. Campaign is not easier with twink gears, and this build is no exception. We do damage, we don't tank damage unless you keep your gear up-to-date
Some recommended improvements:
Ghostwrithe tattered robe scales VERY well with this build because it gives 50% of your massive health pool to energy shield.
@@e0478 this is a good suggestions for people that want to be tankier for sure!

Wow, thanks! 😆
@ you’re more than welcome and thank YOU!
I got to level 50 on my invoked monk and wanted to level an alt. This guide is the best I have seen and it made leveling the new character fun. Thanks LE!
soon, you'll be sick of the melee leveling experience as well, but honestly storm wave is satisfying af 🤣
@LazyExile the bow and xbow were for my 2nd and 3rd chars respectively (my first and still my main was a Bloodmage). Going melee on the last three should round it out nicely. :)

adding a bit more button for more comfy gameplay sounds ok, but I think you can achieve the same thing building full ice monk as well. I just though storm wave is pretty cool and decided to go with lightning monk 😊
I just got that staff as a drop yesterday. TH-cam algorithm has brought me here for a reason. Thanks for the video!
Welcome!
My monk was slogging thru act 1/2...after grab these items and following the build, game is fun again! Thanks for the twink build, I'm an alt-aholic.
hey let's go!
This is amazing. I have done a lot of alt leveling, and I consider fast to be all 6 acts in about 12-14 hours. Sub 10 is definitely speeding through it, and especially if you're not a "speedrunner"
if you're a speedrunner, you can probably do it much faster than me, I spend time afk fixing gem and shopping in town xD
I did 11 hours as a ranger but as the monk I was about 18 hours
@@PureFlabsthis build consume a lot of mana , how can i fix this prob?
the mana issue usually come from tempest flurry, before unlocking ball lightning and get your invocation setup, you should just use ice strike + bell or just storm wave + charged staff to clear boss
I know havoc did it in 6 hours, but that's Havoc... That's not normal for us mortals 😂 Thanks for making this video! Amazing stuff @@LazyExile
The best guides for noobs like me and others! Well written and very thoughtfully put together. Keep up the good work!
Much appreciated!
thank you for this guide, i got the unique weapon myself recently and going gemling legionare
great! gemling legionnaires can pick it up and transition into the end game as well
Exactly what I needed. thanks yo, this was pretty helpful
*Edit* yeesh, you weren't kidding about melting bosses. Damage is disgusting.
No problem!
you got another subscriber in me sis. will for sure be using this build for all my alt characters. really loved the build for the gemling mercenary as well. it saved my life, lol. was stuck on level 1 maps with not enough dps. I'm crushing it now. will be looking for updates all the time.
thanks a lot 😊
omg my lazy princess if doing poe2 content. blessed be my day =)
thanks 😊
Thank you, sweetie. You make my next reroll less tough! ♥
You got this!
Graeat guide, thanks! Will try it at holidays, got every unique drops on main, wanted to level alt and this banger guide dropped at right time😊
Happy holidays, cheers!
have fun! enjoy your holiday leveling!
Great video. I might have another option for the setup
Gear: I use Pillar of the caged god (same as you) + the Polcirkeln (ring) ...(you can make it stronger with grip of winter -bracers)
For spells you can use your setup but only use icestrike + Tempest bell (nother else is needed)
for a bit higher lvl i would change icestrike to :
icestrike -> concentrated effects + martial tempo + Primal Armament
I have seen a lot of recommendation for the ice strike setup, and apparently is very strong. I think I'll try it out the next time I reroll another character. However, the ring is a bit more expensive so there's that
@@LazyExile yeah i got lucky with only 5 exalted...now it's like 20 :(
nice one, just swichting to this doubled my power made the leveling a breeze
I just tried your variant and it's so stroooong! Thank you for sharing!
@ ofcourse :)
One small change I've made while running a very similar setup (caged god) is using concentrated effect over crescendo - its a melee ability so the area of effect loss isnt much at all, but it makes it do 40% more damage overall, its insane!
sounds great for single target!

as usual! thanks 😊
Amazing guides thank you!
Sick build 😮
.
You still broke me. Keep it up. 🔥
😅 lets goo!
If I may add, using a mist whisper makeshift crossbow(unique) slotted with 2 cold damage runes allows you to easily breeze through act 1 and portions of act 2 as well, it is very comfy to run when you lack aoe early on in the game
I am still using this Crossbow but i got unlucy with Vaal and it added lightning dmg.
yes but you can also do this from level 1 xD I'm lazy to change weapon
this build is beautiful tysm
You are the best guide maker for poe2. Criminally underrated.
thanks! I really appreciated it 😆
got all the uniques, followed the guide to a tee, got the best mana pots i could get and was all going ok until i hit the dreadnought part. was having to port back after every enemy encounter to fill my mana pots up.
After adding Electrocute to Storm Wave, what triggers Herald of Thunder? Another question, do Kitoko's Gloves help with anything?
you can turn it off after socket in Electrocute and start using Charged Staff. I didn't do it until way later at level 40, and replace it with Overwhelming Presence.
I think with Kitoko's, you can use normal storm wave without Electrocute? I haven't tried that gloves out yet
This is gold, thank you so much
cool! thanks for watching 😊
This is Gonna Help a lot of ppl
and also help me 🤣
Just the right vid on the right time Pog
just in time for holiday grind! 😆
U can also use JARNGREIPR GLOVES from lvl 6 and just stack strenght if u use melee skills and weapon
looks like decent option
So I have cold runes socketed in my staff instead of lighting. Will that work fine, or is it worth getting another staff for and adding lighting runes? This is the best guide I’ve seen yet for this game. Keep it up!
It should be fine and thanks!😊
patch incoming that allows you to replace the runes
@@neorics that will help a ton, thanks for the heads up!
in the builder you have martial tempo in falling thunder, ice strike, and stormwave, idgi??
you'll replace them one by one, please check the note right below the skill gem section
@@LazyExile Thank you. Makes sense, just rushed through the guide. For survivability, I see most of our resistances are negative with very little armor. Which pieces are ok to replace to add some max health, armor, res, etc... Thanks!
all the optional unique are replaceable, but mainly I would say boots, rings, gloves, amulet are all okay!
this is fantastic. OMG my Warrior/Monk twinks will be fun to level up
have fun! 😊
Oh nice! Can you let me know if you scale enough single target damage without the Black Sun Crest for Doryani in Act 3 Cruel though?
@@LazyExile Sure I'll let you know, I'm in act3 cruel atm :)
@@LazyExile I just beat Doryani in a3 cruel with 3 dragons helm instead of black sun crest and had no problems at all! Thanks again for the build!
that's awesome! thanks for the feedback. I'll try it out and make it into a variant if possible 😊
Thank you for the build and explanation! But its imposible to use this build as I take a few hits and mana runs out. Even worse on bosses.
I actually don't think the mana issue is that bad, you just need to upgrade your mana flask during leveling
I'll fix the written guide a bit, thanks!
Dang, too late. I leveled my alt Warrior....even with leveling gear it was painful lol.
Thank you!
no worries! good luck 😊
Did the ring Who shattered ennemi is S tier for the leveling please ?
I havent tried it out, but I have heard good things about it
Ice Strike Pillar str stacking is better for Leveling. Ice strike + shattering palm both allow for inherited teleport to nearby mobs allowing for quicker movement through zones thus leveling faster. and also the DPS is insane with or without bell through the leveling process. no need to kill every mob in each zone. just go go go
True, was lvl like that, you can call it flicker strike at home.
that's sounds nice! I'll test it out and the next character, thanks!
S-tier content, lady. Don't stop.
can't stop won't stop! 🍵
Early Christmas gang!
happy holidays! probably last video of the year 😆
@@LazyExilethanks for the uploads. It has been fun watching your journey with this character
thanks 😊
Great explanation, although it would be good to get a bit more of a walkthrough with another class, e.g is there a specific node to path to first on the passive tree if I’m going monk?
Great vid regardless s
I briefly touch on the passive skill trees, everything is pretty much beeline to Resonance, and pickup other damage nodes in the area. Resonance at level 31 when you pick up Charged Staff is the only thing you need to worry about on the passive skills tree
Awesome video, but how do you get the sounds when orbs drop and different colour names for items?
I'm using loot filter, you can find them online, or I also share them in my discord
Me: magic is my passion
Also me: picks quarterstaff and melees all enemies.
we do what we gotta do to get through the campaign xD
Firstrly thank you. The guide and videos are amazing and have helped my partner and I level a Sorc to Act 3 in no time. We are however struggling with one element. We have the Resonance node, we have slotted Electrocute in the Storm Wave skill and we have Combat Frenzy with Profusion activated and we are getting NO Tempest Bell charges at all!!! What are we doing wrong?
I'm not sure, do you mean power charges? You get power charges, and activate charged staff to get the buff
@@LazyExile No I mean charges for the Tempest Bell.
for tempest bell, you use tempest flurry to build up charge. Yo check out my latest video, I have the whole rotation breakdown in there 😄
@@LazyExile thank you!
The greymake brimmed helm seems expensive. Any alternative?
make sure you search the helm by exalt, not relative because trade site is bad
Early game, just use the staff melee hit, it clears fast and doesn't use any mana at all, you can use this untill ice strike. this is how i leveled my gemlin legionnaire
yea but you see falling thunder can do the same thing but faster, also mana is no issue for me at least
Or does it scale the lightning runes damage up as well?
more lightning = straight up more electrocution, overall, I find lightning damage is good, but phys should be fine as well? any flat damage work
Fuck yeah, finally I can drop my Bow + Igniting helmet/gas arrow leveling combo.
hell yea, time for a change 😊
Great video and guide, but I've hit a wall on the final Act 2 boss. My damage is so lacking. Will level 33 flat damage rings really make a huge difference? That's all I'm missing from your guide right now. I basically run out of health pots before I get him below 30%.
flat is justice!
those small numbers make a big difference. I went from not getting Viper below 50% to completely wiping the floor with her thanks to 2 1ex rings. just fish for 2 flat rolls and some life and you are set for most of the campaign.
yeah sorry I didn't stress that enough, but you want to replace the blackheart ring, or upgrade your rings with flat damage. It really helps
This is just what I needed for my monk alt. Any suggestions for jewels in passive ? I got enough currency to give it even more juice
there's not too much options for the jewels slot, but it's where you can grab some mana regen, quarterstaff attack speed, attack damage. There are certain area on the tree where you can socketed in the radius jewel, but that's about it.
If you really want to juice it up, here's my suggestion:
- Grab a corrupted lightning damage pillar with 2 lightning runes socketed
- Grab good triple, or double flat damage rings (phys, lightning, +1) at level 30, 40, 50, 60 and you should be good
The build itself does not requires a lot of juice items to make it good. If you want to go for tanky options, check out Ghostwrithe to get energy shield and will help you breeze through the campaign with 0 death probably.
@ thanks a lot! Really appreciate all the work you put into this. Means more than you know ❤️
@ i got two rings and I’m legit blasting. This guide is 10/10
there you go xD
Another BANGER!
bang bang 🤣
Can u talk about the runes you inserting into your gear please?
I use x2 lightning runes, I briefly mentioned it somewhere in the video
have problem with mana and hp (i play sorceres) what should i do? Which item must use or can change?
for generic leveling, I don't really run into mana or issues with mana flask, and storm wave just kinda destroy everything
Watching Falling Thunder gameplay while I try to level in the campaign using Boneshatter makes my soul hurt 🥺
Really great guide though!!
You can do it! is it your first character?
@@LazyExile First Melee™ playthrough, I'm being pushed around all over the place haha 🙃
sounds like a cozy way to spend the holidays lol
Hi Im following this and just got to act 1 in cruel playing as a sorc but i feel a little weak tbh... str at 234, dex at 122, and int at 106.. any idea how to make it better? i have all the mandatory uniques and followed the guide exactly! also struggling with mana a bit
you should swap to black sun crest, and around act 1 cruel, you should have charged staff setup with storm wave. That should really clear everything in 1 or 2 sweep
@@LazyExile i did that but it takes like 4-5 storm waves and mana run out when i do tempest flurry combo super fast
yes, tempest flurry is only meant for single target, and you should kill anything within 2-3 bell rotation and mana flask should help with that. Otherwise, just storm wave should be fine
perfect build for monk i died every pack act 3 very weak
now that's not really true unless you purposely running into packs without attacking
Is there a reason to not go with Kitoko's for electrocute on all skills?
it's expensive, and not necessary imo
I would do this but I find it fun to experiment with each class weapon/skills. I would be bored to play same build for leveling over and over. No rush getting to endgame anyways.
it's true, some people just enjoy trying things out in the campaign. No need to rush things in EA
ok how are you getting so much mana regen?? this build is so mana starved i had spec life cost for storm wave and that doesnt work against bosses
you can just smash your mana potion to solve your mana issue 🤣
What stat do you prioritize outside of gem and gear requirements?
literally in the campaign, I did not upgrade/change any gears beside getting better rings with flat damage and attribute stats
@ yea I get that, on the passive tree are you getting strength dev or int?
I'm getting as much strength as I can, dex and int are there only for/if/when I need it for attribute requirements
Is the written guide already up?
it should be up, I'll need to keep updating it ^^
Ok thx, couldn’t find it in the description as mentioned in the video. I’ll search mobalytics for it.
the mobalytics link should be in the description, you need to scroll down a little bit. I have it for all classes
Do I need to keep leveling up skill gem level? Also, how did you get mana so high since the unique armor cut all mana from Int?
I find having some mana on ring and glove helps, but overall, just keep your mana flask upgraded and you should be fine with mana related stuff
how do you get any charges ? since we are allocating Resonance and what amulet to use ?
for amulet, you can use: Carnage Heart Amber Amulet.
Resonance should be allocate whenever you get Combat Frenzy and Charged Staff
Also do not get it twisted you can only electrocute if you have support in it or charged staff active meaning you cant use flurry late game it wont generate frenze / power charges shock is not electrocute
i have electrocute in storm wave?
@@LazyExile not in written guide any of this information is updated just saying thanks
I'll do a follow up and update all these guide properly
hi am i beeing silly but in the builder the skill tree stops at lvl 30? where is the rest of them?
there's a tab to switch variant at the top, for level 31-65
Hi I have big mana problems when I use enfolding dawn , and great job ☺️
updated the guide for mana issue related!
@@LazyExilethanks you 😊
Following your build exactly, but I can't build up any of the charges. Any idea why?
you need 2 things:
- Electrocute support gem on Storm Wave
- Resonance keystone allocated + Combat Frenzy turned on
@@LazyExile both are there but wasn't working at all for me. I swapped everything to ice strike/cold/freeze and now im blazin through everything. Thanks for the reply though!
glad it works out for you though, literally same gears and ice strike setup is very strong I heard
why is my combat frenzy not giving any powerchages? Im lv 40 and have all the supports
ok it was because the written guide says conduction in storm wave when in fact its supposed to be electrocution.
must be an oversight on my part, but in the video I did mention electrocution. I'll check the guide again, sorry
@@LazyExile yeah I watched the video and then it worked :D no problem
In case I missed, which attributes are good for Jewel in the Passive Tree?
not much options here, but if you want to buy, I suggest getting mana regen on all your jewels, and maybe some attack speed for quarterstaff
@@LazyExile Thank for the fast respond. And yes I'm having mana issue. Will work on that.
mana issue comes in 2 parts, you're not killing things fast enough, and you don't have enough mana regen.
I just level a Sorc and didn't run into any issues similar to yours
what about using the same archetype but instead going the ice strike with shatter ring and herald of ice?
I've seen in a comment that shattering palm and ice strike seems to be zoomy as well, I might have to test it out
@@LazyExilei just finished a level with this setup. The unique ring is decently expensive but it def lets you do some super satisfying clear. Especially on tight maps like dreadnought it literally can clear multiple screens of enemies with one shatter chain explosion.
@@Zavex-r3p but what is the level requirement for that ring? Can we use it for leveling?
@@lukasbrauneruv 12
I didnt see anything about the jewels what thats are we looking for ? projectile dmg ? melee dmg ? spell dmg ? or something else
jewels for stat stacker while leveling doesn't have a lot of options because later on they are using again the darkness. However, if you are leveling, you can just look for any useful mods like attack speed on quarterstaff, attack damage, elemental damage, global phys damage, etc.
% Mana/life on kill with corruped res helps I still have some equipped end game lol
those are quite fancy stats! nice
How does this compare to the lightning arrow ligntning rod orb of storms twink lvling?
it's different playstyle, if you like bow and arrow go for it, if you wanna try out melee, try this one
Filter , songs and layout plz?
songs are all from PoE 1 sounds track, the beginning song was Maven's theme. My filter is available in my discord for free, and what is layout?
I dont have str belt or gloves so maybe that matters alot too?
idk about swallowing mana in 5 hits, but maybe you can try to allocate "Siphon" node to helps with mana problem?
I think ther's something wrong with the warrior one, lv 31 here but getting charge is so slow, also it consume a lot of mana. Alr have resonance and combat frenzy but can't even get charge
You need electrocute support on your storm wave, and then that should give you charges
@@LazyExile in the sorceress variant, it's not mentioned in the act levelling guide under Act 3 section. It's in the gem links however. might want to update the description
yep thanks!
man what a nice video and build i just got to act 2 dreadnaught with this, i dont know what im doing wrong but im not generating frenzy charges
i have combat frenzy and resonance
you need electrocute on storm wave for your skill to electrocute, and that will give you frenzy charge via combat frenzy, and resonance will turn that into power charge
@@LazyExile thank you I don't know how I missed that, thank you so much
no problem!
Isn't widowhail with the highest possible roll on the unique the best ? Like 305% bonus from quiver ? Even if you don't get a 305% anything that's 250% or above still carries you through right ? Then you just gotta spec into Lightning arrow and Rod.
there are many options, however, I think this style suit me the best, it's pretty strong and str stack is a bit more "beefy" during campaign
How squishy is this build? I'm on HC is this viable or too rippy?
technically, it's very tanky, and if you don't rush and upgrade your gears like normal hardcore gameplay, then it's good. This is because strength stack gives a lot of hp
problems with act 2 boss, running out of pots
I'm going to add some recommendation in the build for people that have mana problem.
Price of Freedom anointment on amulet is cheap and very useful
@@LazyExile thank you, I was taking the mana reg and skills cost less wheel because being OoM is not fun, gladly sacrificing a bit of damage for it.
amazing video
Thanks! 😊
How well would Hardcore be? with this setup . you died fiew times? or was a breeze
And what @TranceEmotion said pretty much, at least for the campaign you'll be fine!
what Jewels should you use for this?
there's not a lot of options for attribute stackers during leveling, just use anything that give damage like attack speed for quarterstaff, attack damage, global phys, etc.
I can’t find not one of them damn long quarter staff on my monk and now on my Gemling it’s so annoying
You can find them on trade, just filter by exalted orb
The mandatory unique staff now sells for 1x Divine at levels
So is the greymake helm
you should go on trade site and filter by Exalted Orb instead of Relative at the bottom, and you'll find them cheaper than 1 divine
pretty good so far, but dmg seems to fall off a ton by late act3 (not cruel). tried upgrading rings and gloves for flat dmg but mobs are still taking forever to die. tooltip dps is around 1700...idk if that's normals?
you might want to look for a decent flat damage rings, I show my 2 rings that I swap at level 52 and 55 in this video to clear cruel act 3, and you can see the damage I have in the clear. You might also miss out that I have 2 lightning damage rune socketed in my Pillar of the Cage God. Generally, flat damage is really good for this build
@@LazyExile yup, that was it. picked up a couple rings and pumped damage through the roof. did it again around lvl 48 as well
perfect! good luck!
How are u adding ball lightning at lvl 26 if it’s a lvl 41 skill?
yea this setup won't come online til late act 3, I just mentioned that Elemental Invocation will be available, but you won't get to have the full single target skills until later
you're correct, I'll adjust the written guide. Thanks for pointing that out!
@@LazyExilelove the speed of lvling tho its fast
yea just storm wave is satisfying
how u solve mana problem?
i play sorc i might take some node mana regen
I also level with a witch and I don't have mana problem, you just need to upgrade your mana flask and it should be fine
@@LazyExile oh ok
@@LazyExile im a witch too but the flurry strike absorbs mana so fast, any ideas beside upgrading the mana flask?
don't do flurry strike for aoe clear, just storm wave in general should be fine for 90% of the content
@@LazyExile btw how u gain power charge? mine didnt get any power charge from combat frenzy , and i did take resonance
Great build and guide but I can't get a Pillar of the Caged God on trade!
What happened? It's an incredibly common weapon
@@LazyExile Well Im on the trade site right now. The items are posted but no one is online to trade. It sucks.
www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Standard/vqJMpzzIE this should be the link
@@LazyExile Yes...Im on the site but I never get a reply back.
keep spamming people xD it's what happen
So for level 8 elemental Invocation to work, you need to be level 41 to use ball lightning, which you need to use as a support gem in order for elemental to even work... lol. Any way around this? Guide fails to mention this.
before getting ball lightning, you can just use tempest flurry and bell.
for bosses:
1. use storm wave to electrocute boss and activate charged staff
2. nuke boss with just tempest flurry and bell
or...
just use storm wave
Quick edit, it does mention this, but the early part of the guide, 1-30 calls for elemental invocation as well, and does not mention that this will not work until 41 due to the ball lightning requirement. Thank you.
yea, I'll have to edit that out to not confuse people since that's a discrepancy with my video, thanks!
@@LazyExile all good, not trying to nitpick. This guide is awesome and you did a great job!
Thanks!
I have th.e problem that I can't kill the act 2 boss because I run out of mana
PoE 2 is weird, but the clutch of your problem boil down to 2 issues:
- Innate mana regen is 0, so you can try to grab some jewels with mana regen stats to help (also clarity support gem helps)
- Get more damage (in this case, flat damage on rings and glove should help). Use my tips on the other video to search for a ring upgrade
@@LazyExile Thank you
np :D
act 1 and act 2 is cheese but act 3 and cruel I am using it now and it usually gets out of mana any solution?
you should upgrade your damage a bit with flat damage ring + weapon flat lightning rune so you kill enemy faster, and therefore no mana problem. If you want, you can path to the node "Siphon" earlier
Not sure about best ,it’s not true, best lvling atm is widowhail with dps quiver and lightning arrow/rod,oneshotting all bosses
I never claim it's the best, but it's fun and fast for me. I guess i just hate arrows xD
It's not gonna be the best leveling on bows when not every single player tryna play a ranged build 😂
ultimately, we just pick our poison right 😊
The staff has a base crit of 10% so the gloves are only for the crit bonus and extra physical damage modifier. Still decent I guess.
yea flat damage is king (in the campaign)
