I was here since your first day video and still following your content. I’ve picked up on your build and it’s so easy and fun to get into. Also your philosophy is great. It inspires me to make my own builds after getting used to the fundamentals of the system. You’re amazing and look forward to your builds :)
I really admire your persistence, especially your remark on bosses (3'26''). After leaving a comment on your previous full build guide video, I tried an ethical start of your build. Honestly, everything starts smoothly at first, farming 2 crossbows, constantly upgrading them, skillfully pulling the monsters near your frozen target, positioning yourself to get the best shotgunning (Both skills deal no damage if you are not close to the target enough), aiming your fragmentation round (It's like your grenade. If you miss it, you are punished.). I managed to dodge roll skillfully, giving my best shot and roll out safely. (Thanks to my 10% movement speed boots.) To get the best loot, I tried to skip as many white mobs as possible. I only stopped to kill magic and rare mobs while I was the same level or even 1 level lower than the area. Everything was fine. If there is a sticky situation, I still have my grenades. Not until I reached the Ogham Manor. The map is so narrow. The monsters are so tanky and run so fast that I can't aim my permafrost bolts. I am not sure if they have freeze resistance or I can't get a good lvl 10 crossbow, they just don't freeze. My grenades start to cover me more and more often. Finally, I reached the act 1 boss. The "wolves phrase" was a nightmare. GGG wants the wolves to give us flask charges but the wolves just don't freeze/die. They keep on knocking me back and I can't aim any single of my skills. I reloaded Ogham Manor 3 times to reach lvl 16. (Yes, I was underleveled to get better loots.) I refunded my passives to rush to crossbow reload nodes and I got lucky to get 2 level-5 gems and start using gas grenades + lvl-5 explosive grenades. Finally, I killed the act 1 boss and I found that explosive grenade saved the day (The only DPS window was when he was channelling his big AOE skill. I don't think I am foolish enough to shotgunning him at that moment.). Well, this build was terrible. Please don't get me wrong. I was happy with this bad build and how much you tried to 'survive' with this build. To be honest, I restarted my characters a few times. (That's why I could roll all the way out with this terrible build and reached Ogham Manor at level 14.5, dying only 2 times.) I obviously know that explosive grenade and high velocity rounds perform best at early levels with limited resources. After all, you only need one support gem, scattershot, for both mapping and bossing. But shotgunning 5 cold bolts to freeze the boss and landing a heavy shot feels so good. Mathematically, given the same amount of time, you can do MUCH MUCH more damage with high velocity rounds. Yet, resisting the temptation is so hard and you did it. You make all the way to red maps. I feel so bad that TH-cam don't have a double thumbs up button. You deserve more than one like.
If given the chance, honestly, I would do it again. It was a fun and enjoyable first-time experience with PoE 2. No one really had it figured out at league start, and I don't think anyone had an easy time with the campaign either. Consider that this is your first memory of the game that will never be the same. I'm quite happy with the endgame version of the build, and it sucks that HVR doesn't have enough scaling, and GGG should buff it to realize my dream. The Ogham Manor fight was really good, and I had a great time. At that point, I didn't have the whole build figured out and was probably using suboptimal gem as well, but anyway 😊 You had your fairshare with the build and best of luck to your future character!
I have to say, this gemling road you've taken us in is amazing. This is my first time playing any PoE and I tried to follow it, but it was too much for me (found it complicated and couldn't get that unique ring no matter how much I tried in the trade site), but still I followed it closely and I loved watching every second of it. In the end I went for another build but still took some things from this one, since I really like the str stacking and survival that comes from it. Found it at all times very informative. Thank you thank you thank you, and happy hollodays
I recently respecced out of this build to a different one, but following along since the first video was a ton of fun and helped me learn the game a lot, great content.
I have been having a lot of fun with your build, was playing the grenade build before but I did not enjoy it that much, got to tier 10,I am having a bit of a hard time with some stuff, but I think it is mostly a skill issue and the fact that I am not really finding a lot of currency, working towards the belt and higher tier maps. Thank you for all the videos, you are amazing
Thanks for the end summary of your though process in building this mercenary we're all following. I'm currently in T5, going in to T6. Position wise, I'm at the Early Mapping part of your guide. So far it's going smooth, just a little slow on the single target Boss fights. Other than that, mob clearing is just smooth. I'm enjoying this build, it's just your average bombing merc that's all around the internet. It's very fun to play with, and your build is interesting, that's why I've been following it since the beginning. POE 2 is my first time fully diving in POE, it's so much more expansive than Diablo IV ever was. And I'm just having so much fun, thanks for the build guide. And happy holidays. Can't wait to see your other builds in the near future. Thx
agree with your idea of "play what you like, how you like", that's how games should be I watch build videos because the game has so much content and through them you can find about a unique item, or some passives you didn't notice before I play the mercenary permafrost skill, for now, the skill looks very weak, but the kaboom is satisfying 🤩 so ya, play what you like guys 🍻
sanctum is definitely easier. I did the boss with early mapping build in 8 mins, but if that's not your cup of tea, just unspec out of enhance effectiveness and spec into Gem Studded and play the sanctum with the endgame setup. Shockburst Rounds would make it a lot easier, or if you're on trade, you can buy service for 4th ascendancy on TFT discord for like 40 ex
I love love LOVE the FAQ aspect of the video. I wish more people would do this (including myself 👀) because it's so helpful to the players following the guide. You're setting the bar real high for PoE2 build guides, keep it up Lazy 😊 Edit - Also, that thumbnail is chef's kiss 🧑🍳👌
I was literally just watching your 50 minute video on this build when youtube recommended this video to me. I was really struggling to find a good build until I found your videos and I absolutely love this build! I'm only in act 3 so far but I've really been enjoying coralling enemies with glacial bolt and blowing them up with fragmentation rounds. Also, have you ever tried Herald of Ice for the build? I didn't get wind dancer early on but I've been running herald of plague and herald of ice so far, and it feels really nice
Well played, i was following your guide during the pure ailment spreader with that gloves but stop halfway cuz that gloves become 1 div. Lucky later i got the 3 head drop lmao.
Thank you for the well explained video again.. as someone new to poe, I’m learning a lot.. I’m gonna have to reread your guide on how u spawn those lightning balls as I couldn’t recall reading it.. also, how do I pop up the window showing my weapon DPS?
How does this compare to gas and explosion grenade builds when it comes to endgame damage and survivability? Coming back to PoE2 after the starting weekend and trying to decide to respec or go deeper into grenade play.
Gas and explosion is pretty good, but I would say at the same level of investment, the endgame version would have more single target damage. I haven't played a grenade build, though, so I wouldn't know for sure.
You know the funny thing that happened to me? I bought both as I thought the helmet will make the enemy freeze faster, turns out, they cancel each other out. Lightning becomes cold, cold become fire, fire becomes lightning and it just infinite loops🤣
Hi there! I find your build quite interesting and seemingly fun to play! Got a question though, would you swap out your unique belt for ingenuity? And if you do, what kind of rings would you consider? Thank you so much!
I might ended up making a version to fit that in, but to make it works. - You need 2 xbow and gem studded allocated. - You can unspec enhanced effectiveness like I recommended but you really want it for the tankiness it provides, so get your 4th ascendancy ASAP
I'm very happy to have chosen to create a mercenary because that led me to the greatest poe content creator I've ever had the pleasure to watch. Thank you for all the effort you put in and for sharing your vision with us. I share your sentiments on how the current state of these poe 1 style meta builds are, and it was amazing to hear a likeminded opinion. Merry Christmas!

Thank you! That's what I really aim for in a build guide 😊
As somebody who’s first time playing Poe is poe2 you are helping massively, love your guides and the effort you put it. Thanks
thanks! glad you like them!

the meta of the game right now is stacking rarity, so if you're not getting much currency. Try to have more "increased rarity" stat on your gears
Thanks for the end summary of your though process in building this mercenary we're all following.

You're so good at this game, very impressive. Fun build! Merry Christmas 🎄❤️

Is it possible to get your 4th ascendancy with the early mapping build before switching to shockburst? Which is trial is easier ?
sanctum is definitely easier. I did the boss with early mapping build in 8 mins, but if that's not your cup of tea, just unspec out of enhance effectiveness and spec into Gem Studded and play the sanctum with the endgame setup.

I have tried herald of ice yes! but later in the game it's not neccesary because all of our "cleave" damage come from herald of plague 😊
The thing I love most from this series is : *to learn how to learn* 🤨
Hope I can build my own builds with more Lazy’s sense b4 the full release. 😅
you don't need to go from scratch, you just need to pick what you like and start working toward your own version of the build 😊
Well played, i was following your guide during the pure ailment spreader with that gloves but stop halfway cuz that gloves become 1 div. Lucky later i got the 3 head drop lmao.
now that's a 5head not 3 head 🤣
Thank you for the well explained video again.. as someone new to poe, I’m learning a lot.. I’m gonna have to reread your guide on how u spawn those lightning balls as I couldn’t recall reading it.. also, how do I pop up the window showing my weapon DPS?
You manually cast and use lightning warp on it to create shock ground. That will set up your Shockburst rounds
How does this compare to gas and explosion grenade builds when it comes to endgame damage and survivability? Coming back to PoE2 after the starting weekend and trying to decide to respec or go deeper into grenade play.

Uh oh!
Doesn’t poison scale from hit damage making poison fragmentation weaker than a singular big shot?
the gem said that multiple hit counts as one, so if you're close enough it's all shotgun to do a bigger hit
Hi there! I find your build quite interesting and seemingly fun to play! Got a question though, would you swap out your unique belt for ingenuity? And if you do, what kind of rings would you consider? Thank you so much!
Wouldn't weapon with add lightning dmg affix instead of physical be better?
we're using fragmentation round as well so phys is the best, also we are using heft, and it scales with physical damage
Should I be putting gems into my crossbow shot?? And should I just use the passive nodes to get the dex/int for gear?
no you don't have to put gem into crossbow shot, and yes attributes on tree are there to fix stuff for gear
Hi lazy, the lightning can build for the early game(act1-6)?😢
I might ended up making a version to fit that in, but to make it works.
- You need 2 xbow and gem studded allocated.
- You can unspec enhanced effectiveness like I recommended but you really want it for the tankiness it provides, so get your 4th ascendancy ASAP

Ok looks like i have to replace the ring... Lol
Thanks for the clarity
No problem 👍
