Good video mate! Cheer’s
Good work mate, would you suggest a bigger top mount ? ( if it's an option ) I've ordered one and plan to do the water pump as wel
Hey mate. Sorry for the late reply.
Yes based on my research I’d definitely go a larger top mount if you’re chasing any decent power. 👍
not very informative.. wahts the difference in w/pumps.. why,,do they get hot.. please explain.. never had any probs with yank 4x4rs.. the nissan engine is in too a confined space, for what it was built for.?.why dont toyotas o/heat..??.. just bought a gu. drove 8 mins, gauge at half.. sorry, but jap 4x4rs are crap.. & why the frigin jeep content.??..@@outdoorantix
Good video, I'm curios about the tach sensor, did you use the zd30 tach sensor in the TD42? really appreciate if you can help me out with!! I did this same swap, but I'm having issues with my tach, I installed the TD42 sensor, but does not work properly
@@wizard1385 no I just used the tach sensor listed for td42. I don’t know if the ZD30 one fits sorry.
Question, what’s the difference why u buy the eBay snorkel from the one from patrolapart
Hey mate that snorkel we fitted is one on a jeep xj that was just part of the work we were doing.
PSA; I never once saw my patrol run hot. I replaced the OEM fan blade (due cracking) with an eBay online auto parts copy. Then it runs hotter and hotter at 115 empty! Not even towing!
On closer inspection the outer edges of the new fan blade have a negative pitch angle. Online auto parts and other eBay sellers admit they have sold thousands of these.
How many GU patrols become hot boxes because of poorly manufactured fans?????
I have after market turbo, big lift, Bull bar, driving lights and winch. Never had the air dam. Seals are well gone. And I’m ONLY overheating (just doing 115 on the highway) after replacing the fan. Go figure
Changes the fan to an OEM fan and problem is gone. How many people have fucked around changing literally everything and this is the problem.
What an amazing peice if insight! Thank you. First point of call!
mate if it overheated on the highway its not the fan.. sure it helps but even without a fan highway speeds give enough airflow. something else is causing it to get warm
Shouldn't need a 1.1. Matthew craig at ufi has done heaps of real world testing and if you're cooling system is top notch it shouldn't need it
1.1 Just raises the pressure that the coolant needs to reach to be able to touch atmospheric temperature to boil. Just added security that if you for whatever reason do hit 110 Degrees for example you have a better chance at saving it from absolutely boiling the water out of it.
I run a 2.0 on mine in a gu. Because that was all I could get to fit it at the time when I replaced all the cooling system. I have Never changed it and never had a heating issue so far.
Yeah I agree but kind of over engineering a bit based on recommendations. Still waiting for a 35+ degree day to really test it. Will probably do a top mount inter cooler, high flow thermostat and oil cooler next and see how that goes if it continues to get hot.
@@outdoorantix mine got a bit warmer then normal the other day towing but I know it’s time to take to the dyno and re tune taking a bit longer to start sometimes. It’s not much but the pump is just a little out as the engine is bedding in 15000kms of a performance rebuild 310 flywheel horse off 24 pound boost.
1.1, is 14 psi.. most of mine run 16 psi.. sit on 180.. why is jap stuff so fkt up.. buy american.. old american,,. my 4.2 tdi. s/duty, 700nm, no computer.. sits just over the blue, never moves.. bronco, less than 1/4.. f250 75 same.. never o/heat..
Its been a year, hows it running?
Hasn’t missed a beat mate and have been driving it daily in the qld heat.
Only one really hot day where I went hard on it up a steep hill and it got to 3/4 on the gauge. That said I’m pretty sure it’s over fueling which I’m going to fix very soon.
blew up rolled, guy died,, still hot siezed... he never explained anything in the vid.. useless.. never showed difference in w/pump, just fitted it..
What.model radiator cap was it?
Genuine Nissan mate but I think adrad and tridon do them as well.
So shoe off that plastic shit that attaches under the radiator?
No. Absolutely keep it.
