James, if you rope in some friends who are good with TH-cam video creation and production, you can really gain a big audience here. And you can still muck about at will without any watch dog looming over everything you do.
There is something wonderfully pleasing and soothing about watching James May make Shepherd's Pie. I particularly enjoyed the cut to his drill. Also that James drops things while cooking as much as I do.
he lives alone.. with a cat.. in an (i presume from watching the kitchen) average house, and he's around fifty.. Looking at him you'd just think he's lonely, bored and sad.. And he's not.. He just utterly enjoys this sort of life.. So awesome!

i think its the randomness of it all that i find most entertaining. The same reason James was so funny to watch on Top Gear even the simplest of tasks can turn into a 5 part drama about making a shepherds pie. The onion skin wouldn't come off, the potato masher was missing for a minute, the cat interrupted, the camera falls over occasionally, telling himself to shut up, and the transitions i want to use him playing the recording for every transition in my videos.

I think everyone would think it was lovely how a nice old man had discovered modern technology and had decided that his contribution would be to film himself cooking dinner, so he could teach the youngsters how to cook a proper English meal (with an Indian twist - maybe he was stationed in India for his national service and got a taste for the local cuisine). I think it would be wonderfully endearing to see.
