Deniz is a funny word! The n in Deniz is actually nasal n Deñiz, and the nasal n in Turkic languages are pronounced like an in between mix sound of "n" and "g" So even tho in Turkey its not pronounced with said nasal n the word is originally "Dengiz" This word is also related to many other words you know in Turkish, and Mongolian too Temujins nickname Genghis also comes from the same root, Çıñız/Çıngıs, you can easily spot the nasal n in Genghis's Turkish version, Cengiz, see how the n and g is together and did not got lost like it did in Dengiz. We use "farewell" more often when we broke up with our gf or bf. The last word of an ending relationship: "Elveda..." It's also so cool word in Turkish but sad at the same time. Also "Veda" means "Farewell" too but it's using for the situation not for speech. For speech "Elveda" for the situation "Veda". And there is also old popular song "Veda Busesi" it's a good song, you should listen.

Tövbe etmek: to repent. I think we use it in many different meanings but it is really hard to explain for what it was used in your experience. I think your explanation is correct and i think we also use it when a bad, or wrong thought occurs to us to kinda say: god , please forgive me for what i have just thought.
Tatbikat doesn't have to be "fire drill". It can be used for non-natural / natural disasters such as earthquake drill. Or It can be used for a military exercise. Tatbikat is to make practice for a possible bad event in order not to be panic or be caught unprepared when It starts.

The way Tövbe was used in your situation is somehow different than what it means. People usually use it for forgiveness but mostly it is used like the way that guy used it. True way to explain what he is doing is showing exhaustion. To explain why, the words are not targeted on anyone at that moment. He is saying it to himself. And reason for that is he is holding curse words in and deep inside he is asking forgiveness from god for making curse words in his mind towards those people. Never thought about it before but now that I do, I feel like it is a naive thing.
"tövbe" is coming from arabic "tauba" and its exact meaning is repentance. if a turkish person uses it because they are angry, it's probably because they were about to say something bad, thought badly about the person, or even wanted to swear, they say "tövbe" instead, because they suddenly remember that it is not their right to despise anyone, nobody is better than one another, they should be humble, and not judge anyone - according to islamic thought of course. that is why we use the word whenever something shocking or annoying happens.
"Canavar" is also slang for "awesome" or "real cool or something in this ballpark. The same can be said for "manyak"...
Canavar bir arabam var = I've got an awesome car.

Deñiz, and the nasal n in Turkic languages are pronounced like an in between mix sound of "n" and "g"
So even tho in Turkey its not pronounced with said nasal n the word is originally "Dengiz"
This word is also related to many other words you know in Turkish, and Mongolian too
Temujins nickname Genghis also comes from the same root, Çıñız/Çıngıs, you can easily spot the nasal n in Genghis's Turkish version, Cengiz, see how the n and g is together and did not got lost like it did in Dengiz.

Engin means vast and deep and immense and extensive, "just like sea" you're thinking right? Answer me this, what is also endlessly vast and immense and everywhere? The answer is God. Now remember what is the word for God in Turkish? It's "Tanrı"
Well that n in Tanrı sure looks suspicious right? Thats our nasal n, you might knew the old version of the word Tanrı was "Tengri", when written like this, its clear to see the nasal n doing its work, the "Tengri" form is currently used by all other Turkic countries like Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, etc etc. Mongolians use it as "Tenger"
Now what if I told you Engin and Tengri are two different versions of the same word, while one directly refers to god the other refers to gods properties. Dengiz and Cengiz being the same word also carries this sub meaning of Engin and God, hence the meaning of "Universal Ruler" in Genghis Khans name is explained. Theyre all interconnected words pointing at the same idea but differentiating within in terms of their references and got separated with time.

Chelsea... "Tövbe" means "repent" in English. But sometimes, in Turkish "Tövbe tövbe" means similar to "God, give me patience" since swearing is not nice and it is a sin in Islam. So, a kind of repent "tövbe tövbe" means.

If you say some bad words, you can say tövbe. This is a request from Allah to forgive you. Sometimes your intension is to say bad words and almost you say but eventually you don't say. In that case also you say tövbe since your intension is bad even if you dont use bad words.

We use "farewell" more often when we broke up with our gf or bf. The last word of an ending relationship: "Elveda..." It's also so cool word in Turkish but sad at the same time. Also "Veda" means "Farewell" too but it's using for the situation not for speech. For speech "Elveda" for the situation "Veda". And there is also old popular song "Veda Busesi" it's a good song, you should listen.

Tövbe etmek: to repent. I think we use it in many different meanings but it is really hard to explain for what it was used in your experience. I think your explanation is correct and i think we also use it when a bad, or wrong thought occurs to us to kinda say: god , please forgive me for what i have just thought.
Tatbikat doesn't have to be "fire drill". It can be used for non-natural / natural disasters such as earthquake drill. Or It can be used for a military exercise. Tatbikat is to make practice for a possible bad event in order not to be panic or be caught unprepared when It starts.
You should know this word.It is "ohoo-o" mean of this word that. For example somebody asked you did you have coffee and you've already had coffee,so you can say ohoo-o 😁 turkish people sometimes don't use word we sometimes use badylanguage or strange words like ohooo-o

Tövbe is Repent, basically asking for repentance in one word. And the usage can also be for when you are surprised and or disbelief .
Actually our grandmothers use 'tövbe" when see somebody is shag or kissing.

Well, actually 'Tatbikat' means just 'Drill'. You can also use this word for military drills or earthquake drills. Correct word for 'Fire Drill' would probably be 'Yangın Tatbikâtı'

Tövbe is something like apologising from god for something bad you told or thougt. For example you got angry with your brother and you wanted to tell him a bad word but you stopped yourself in the last moment,so you say tövbe tövbe. it also using with "estağfurullah" as "tövbe estağfurullah".

The word "tövbe" is actually to ask forgiveness from Allah. But if we have bad thoughts in our minds, if we want to blasphemy, or if we do not like situations we will say.Rough spelling, there is also a polite pronunciation ... "Cancel, delete thought, go away!" I've never thought about the real meaning.

"Tövbe" is actually a religious term which is more or less the equivalent of confessing or remitting. The use of the world originally derives from redemption, purifying yourself from your sins. But nowadays (I mean for the last 150 - 200 years), Turkish people use the word in daily life in context of trying to calm yourself from the person intentionally or unintentionally teasing you. Turkish language is famous for its reduplications, while there is approximately 10-20 reduplication examples in English, Turkish language is full of it, and in this context of the word "Tövbe," the daily life expression is especially stressed when it is reduplicated.

Elveda is like "Goodbye forever. We won't be in touch with you again". That's why Turkish people don't use it usually.

It’s a word which is related Islam: When you make something wrong, you feel guilty or if you are about do or think something bad then again you say: “Tovbe tovbe”
It’s like; “God forgive me/ Forgive God” I am about to do something bad, help me and get me calm. In theory, people must use that to ask for forgiveness and mercy from God; Allah, in which they regret to do sth or they have already done. But then, in practice, they end up in use of judging someone else or a situation 🙈 like “hayret bir şey” as you said

The way Tövbe was used in your situation is somehow different than what it means. People usually use it for forgiveness but mostly it is used like the way that guy used it. True way to explain what he is doing is showing exhaustion.
To explain why, the words are not targeted on anyone at that moment. He is saying it to himself. And reason for that is he is holding curse words in and deep inside he is asking forgiveness from god for making curse words in his mind towards those people. Never thought about it before but now that I do, I feel like it is a naive thing.
Jüpiter in original Turkish is ERENDİZ.
"tövbe" is coming from arabic "tauba" and its exact meaning is repentance. if a turkish person uses it because they are angry, it's probably because they were about to say something bad, thought badly about the person, or even wanted to swear, they say "tövbe" instead, because they suddenly remember that it is not their right to despise anyone, nobody is better than one another, they should be humble, and not judge anyone - according to islamic thought of course. that is why we use the word whenever something shocking or annoying happens.
