Just want to add a few viewpoints to the conversation to comments saying “you should spend all your money on ammo”:
Agreed - practice is king. But I would also ask the question - why not both? Why not increasing performance with aftermarket parts AND train? (And this looks different for everybody)
Example: You can be at your personal best at 25yo on your 1990 racing bicycle, but when weekend joe 55y comes by with his 2024 $7K 4.5kg Carbon Fiber Bicycle, he’ll beat you just with his medium effort. Tech CAN make a difference when it comes to performance. That said, I’d rather train AND take the unfair advantage.
What I’d add to that: it should take you years to build out a glock like the one shown in the video. Don’t buy all parts at once. The company pistol in the video took 7 years to look like that. Tweak here, tweak there. Try out things. Ask questions, search forums - figure out if anybody knows more than you - be curious. Accept that some parts don’t work for you. It’s not a black & white question, whether you should increase performance with aftermarket parts OR spend the money on ammo.
Yes train and you'll figure out what you need along the way
@BlackTridentOfficial honestly, 9mm doesn't need all this aftermarket crap. It's a f*&^%×n 9mm? It's hilarious to see people applying 10mm+ technology on a gun that will shoot like a .22 if you just put in the right recoil for the power level? Lmao. .357 sig, 10mm, .40 or 45 super can use the mods you're doing to 9mm. If you have sights you can acquire quickly and are familiar with how your ammo performs? What else can you buy to give you an "unfair" advantage? Lol
if you want to enhance performance, get a caliber that doesn't take 5 hits to get a stop
@@izzyiz810 Yep. I was going to comment on that as well. Plus, for self defense purposes, all that stuff is unnecessary.
Good stuff bud, I know you touched on it in the video about what you can legally have over there, but was curious is it do to round count or overall size? I know you said youd prefer a g17, didnt know if you ever looked into a g45 if you still wanted that full size grip, if that is an option for you.
Glock 19 Gen 2 is my EDC since 1993. Still running great.
How many round thru it ?
This man would out-shoot me with a rubberband gun, but I'll still judge his gun setup 😂

End of the day, Jimmy still just wants that damn Staccato.
Nothing better than to wake up to coffee and a new upload from TFB TV
Love this guy. He’s always fun to watch.
biggest take away that i hope others got from his last few appearances is that jimmy likes what he likes but doesnt think other things are bad because he doesnt use them personally, and that function is all within the context of the current scenario and user
My man has $2000 in the accessories alone and he's worried about the hundred dollar difference between a 4th and 5th gen Glock?
Don’t thrift shame
Still money, 100€ here, 100€ there… in the long run it counts!
I'm still floored a Glock runs 1000 American for a gen 5 at 920 euro

Best Glock upgrades:
1. Ammo & Training / Shooting.
2. Optic & Or Better Irons.
3. Barrel or OEM Barrel
4. Weapon Light
5. Maybe Comp or Ports, Stock = Reliable.
6. A Good or Decent holster & Maybe a gun belt / Mag holster (If you wanna get more fancy).
It’s interesting what he said about the safety problem with dirt in the mag well because the 20 dollar magpul glock mag well has that divot cut into it so you can get your thumb up underneath the lip of the mag. I’ve had to use that a few times at competitions.
Jimmy was one of the best teachers and mentors that ive ever had. It was an honor to serve with and under him. He's a legend in the community
Fun fact about Jimmy. Intel was received that the taliban wouldn't attack patrols in Afghanistan if they found out Jimmy was leading the patrol.
cringe
So Hes basically running a Roland Special 2.0
An underrated Glock accessory is the striker control device from LTT it’s nice to have one if you carry appendix I wish they had them for my P-10
100% agree. I love mine. Even for 4-5 o’clock carry its worth it, especially if you’re reholstering without looking and are worried about a piece of clothing getting caught.
Very good info about the use of a laser.
It actually changed my opinion about them a little bit
Oh yeah, Jimmy's ready. Check Jimmy out. Jimmy's got some new moves.
Always great to hear those with more experience and different perspectives! Thanks TFB TV! Legends! 💯
My favorite upgrades. Light, sights , enclosed red dot (I live in florida, rain, humidity moisture etc). And ammo.
It’s 100% not the gun, it’s the shooter. I’ve seen a prior IDPA shooter with a Staccato get outgunned by a police officer that ran the course with 0 misses and 20 seconds quicker with his standard Glock 17. 😂
More of this guy, he's great
So Jimmy CLEARLY didn’t watch your Stop F*cking Up Your Glock video…
Fan Bois...
Smh.
His barrel and colored extensions are the only things that arent needed but its does not fuck his gun up thats just dumb and so was that video
See, this is how I i learn, straight and to the point. Thank you.
C&H precision makes a new monster optic for pistols that’s impressive…
Great content as always and I run a gen 3 for most events set up almost identical. It was cool to see this badass running it. Thank you gents!
Amazing video James… would love to hear more of you two .
Magwell on a Glock 19 is the truth. It locks the hand in place and helps control recoil remarkably. A very worthwhile upgrade.
A way. Not the way. Truly a wise man.
Glock perfection so let me “upgrade” everything on it now it’s even more perfect!
Haven't heard that one before, good one. Very original.
So you've never customized a car to squeeze out more performance?
@@aaronrd779 Other than a K&N air filter...NO. But my SUV does not claim to be PERFECTION.
@@aaronrd779there’s a difference between customizing a vehicle and ALL the changes he made to his Glock. Poor example.
It is Glock Perfection, upon purchase. But once purchased, it’s on the buyer.

I'm glad he's enjoying his Glock and mods. Heavily modded out pistols are not my cup of tea as I am more of a whiskey man. I'm just here because I like both James and this guy and to help the algos.
You can drink shit swill whiskey or great whiskey so this is kind of moot.

I still like the Trijicon HD, best of both worlds of SRO and RMR.
As a holosun owner, sell me on the HD. Jimmy has me looking at the SRO anyway.
My buddy has had that exact 19 build for 2 years he just swapped to a holosun vulcan and zev v2 comp and agency barrel almost the exact same and it rocks
I have the same mag well. Once you put it on it's really hard to part with. It gives you a really good and repeatable grip on the gun.
Here in Texas, the price of the Glock gen 5 is EQUAL to the gen 4. At least it is, at my local sporting goods store. Academy. Priced 539.99 rn
In France it's a bit pricy. A gen 3 is about 615euros i think, the gen 5 is about 750euros. The glock of the french army specs (basicaly a gen 5 half tan half black) is about 800euros.
As a lawman i can have price for standard glock, but saddly not for the army one
Whether you love or hate Glock you have to admit that Jimmy's or is it James, his setup is sweet.
What part of your Glock is still a Glock? the serial number!
😂😂love this one haha
Nah he changed that too 😂😂😂
Theseus’ glock
@@jtlegionnaire6310Nice.
There's an even bigger pistol dot, and I use it on my concealed carry guns. The Cyelee Bull Pro (also available in X flavor, which allows you to change the reticle).
And yes, I said concealed carry. I have one on both my full size carry guns, which I carry AIWB. A heavily modified P320 and a Tisas Night Stalker. Both are compensated as well, and I have several friends which carry compensated pistols. My smaller carry is a P365 with a compensator.
As I often tell people, if it gives me any kind of edge or advantage, I am going to utilize it.
AWESOME video, thank you!
The video I have been waiting for 💪❤
Did you not know how to "upgrade" a Glock before a Green Beret told you how?
@@jdmb03 As a former LEO I relied on my range personnel to advise what they felt was reliable. Getting a former military expert's POV is also instructive. Especially hearing him re-affirm that my optic is also his favorite.
Ah, I remember the Roland Special
Jimmy needs to get introduced to the Steiner or the L&S or the RCR. The Acro contains a beyond obselete feature/design set now.

It's sad that Mr Glock passed away. The good part is that now Glock can actually get the company up to speed with the market.
Let's just hope that they don't go the way of Colt...
@@ThePoorBoy True
I don't like to customize. I would replace the factory sights with some night sights, and that's it. It's a free country though, so you do you.
Same. As soon as you start adding aftermarket parts, you risk reliability
@@tjames525 At this day and age, mods like optics are more reliable than irons.
@@carmichaelreeif you want to argue that adding an optic doesn't make a tangible difference in reliability, sure. If you are genuinely claiming that milling/affixing an optic of varying weight/height to a gun IMPROVES the reliability over the stock gun, that's delusional and absurd
Jimmy sounds like a rockstar🎉! Will you do a shooting block with using cover and without with Jimmy the next time you're over there?
Most ppl dont need any of that except maybe better iron sights, red dot and flashlight
When I was a teenager we spoke exactly like this about our cars, Holley tripple pumpers, Eldelbrock intakes Hurst shifters, cragger wheels ect ect.
Now Im old and guys speak like that about their pistols.
Holley Double Pumpers
Edelbrock intakes
Cragar wheels.
@@hk45c62 I was thinking of the old six pack carburator. Mopar made them. I could be wrong about whether Holley made an aftermarket version. I haven't been keeping up since I let my Hot Rod magazine subscription expire in the 90's. But you're right, I misspelled a couple of things. Thanks for the corrections. 👍
@@mountainman8602 , the Mopar "Six Pack" is actually 3 Holley 2 barrel carburetors.
@@hk45c62 OK. Thank you for sharing your superior knowledge.
Green Beret justifies not using an enclosed emitter as well as using a laser; absolutely based.
gen 3 g19c w/ a cheapie mag well and night sights is good enough for me will do the same as a gucci glock
I have the SRO on my G19 gen5 mos. On my G34 gen 4 I have the RCR on it and I'm really like it. For closed emitter's I'm liking the RCR Trijicon the best.
Swap them like Christ intended.
Benelli Nova or SuperNova are also great choices.
When is black trident coming to the US?!
Also the reason people kit out their glocks is because you can.
Cz p10c gang.
ooof... imagine
I run a PRP pro or Canik METE tp9 with that Salient threaded barrel and EPS with TLR1. I conceal or use with my range belt. 500-600 doll hair handguns that need no extra work done to them. Canik triggers are phenomenal
This is a 2024 Roland Special.
I love the look of this Glock 19. It's just a Roland special, but it looks great. I like the Gen 5 Afterburner combo, and the Roland Specials comps are always huge.
Sick setup 🔥
When I saw his pistol the first time, I really thought it was a Roland Special!
The safari land holsters have a rain cover for your optic. I think it costs a little extra
What about the middle ground, the Glock 45? Full length grip but you can keep it close to the Glock 17 length with the comp on the end.
I have a G19 and the large window optic I would go for would be the Leupold Delta Point Pro. 350 bucks cheaper than the SRO and similar reliability.
With any firearm, you should think about what function(s) will it fit, and can it do multiple ones without modifications. For example, regardless of the manufacturer can You use it for USPSA, IDPA, conceal carry as well as home defense? There are many that will all those needs without spending a butt load of money.
I use to waste time trying to find out how yo mount a red dot on a non optic ready slide. Then a light came on. All I need is a WML/Laser combo. Just as good and I keep my rear sight.
Bottom line is that we all have our opinions on Glocks and that is great. The most important one is how you feel about your firearm.
Gen 3 G19. After market extended slide release and mag release with custom mag extensions to accommodate the pinky finger.
That’s it.
Great stuff, James. Thanks to Jimmy for sharing his thoughts on what works for him in his use of a G19.
So it’s a Green Beret Gucci Glock😂
I think it’s funny that everyone is swinging back around from micro to compact again
I got on the micro bandwagon for a year with the hellcat. The one thing that was great about it was its size as far as comfortable and extremely concealable. Everything else sucked. Couldn’t get my paws on it for a good draw. And shooting accurately was way too much work. Finally had a reality check and went back to Glock 19. Should have never left the compact size.
@@coreybrady3192 I carry the 17 or 26 and rarely my P229 now. Same thing. The old school P229 feels like a boat anchor now. Lol. Admittedly, I probably shoot the best with the P365, but I actually think the thickness of the Glock and Walthers are perfect.
And here I am still using the stock ball in a cup Glock sights.
They worked for Elijah Dicken
That’s all you need to know
@@scottkelly7051okay, and there are documented instances of 22lrs dropping people. You have the Trooper Mark Coates shooting where he put four 38spl +Ps center-mass into a perp at 15 or so feet, he took a 22lr through the armpit. Trooper collapsed and died on the side of the road, driver with four speedholes in his chest got back into his car and drove off. I'm sure some stakeout squad cop has dropped a bad guy at 50+ yards with a snubby, does that mean you should expect the same and/or train for that scenario? What a bizarre train of thought.
@JJ_SDWR You missed the point, JJ.
The point is that you have to practice with what you have. For many people, the purchase of the pistol eats up all of their disposable income. There's simply not enough in the budget for aftermarket sights.
Essentially, what you're saying is that you shouldn't practice with and master the equipment you already have.
What a bizarre train of thought.
@@scottkelly7051 no, you should absolutely train with what you have, nobody has ever disputed that. The point of contention is the idea that if a 20 year old was able to hit a target with a stock gun then that's proof there is no need for anything beyond that. By that logic, if someone has stopped an assailant with a NAA 22lr single-shot boot-gun, then that's all you need to be prepared.
To each their own, I don't use as my base case a scenario where a guy was not in a two-way shootout or under direct attack, he was able to take an aimed shot(s) at a mass-shooter who wasn't actively shooting at him. That is not even remotely similar to what 99.99% of defensive gun uses by citizens look like, training to that standard is absurd.
do you have a vid on the AR setup as seen here within?
I’ve had my Glock 19 Gen 4 since 2016 and the only thing I’ve upgraded(this year) were the sights.
I would love a half size or a third size supressor rather than a compensator. Mitigating sound and easier for the shooter. There is also a lot of complaints from the nearest residents from shooting ranges everywhere. I personnally are happy everytime I hear gun training, but people are different and some are scared when they hear it.
Slide stop/release debate over: “slide lever”
The cue to point with your thumb really helped me, cross eye dominant also helped to look straight if you know what I mean

Put a red spring on the Glock, a black NY Trigger Spring, ditch the stupid laser on the gun and get a Streamlight TLR-7X or a Surefire X300 Turbo. If you need a duty gun - get rid off open red dot sights. An Aimpoint Acro will do the job. Good luck with Trijicon and Eotech support if something happens to it (and it will).

Part of the “perfection” aspect is it’s customization possibilities. You can make it yours. It can be perfect for “you”Especially if you know exactly what you need to be fast & accurate with your pistol.
People always railed on the plastic sights. They know that everyone knows what sights they prefer, so why not put some cost efficient sights that actually work till you can put on your own.
Even after trying some custom 2011s and upper end Glock clones, I always find myself going back to Glock
Get you a star firestar. Can't go wrong there
I get the idea that a bigger gun feels more secure but after 9 years patrol with the Glock 17, im picking Glock 19 ten times outta ten.
The 19 is easier for me to control under recoil. I think it’s due to slide mass. I had a 34 for a couple years and I got rid out of it because it offered no advantage over the 17.
The reduced grip length makes sitting in a car easier too.
