    Okay, I've never seen this method for implosion mushrooms. All the others are so complicated. This is simple and looks marvelous. And the big mushroom cap is darling. Thank you for such a clear, easy to see demonstration. Wild applause 🎉👏

    These are very sweet. We do shrooms in my classes almost every semester. I teach mixed classes of beginners and more intermediate. This version would be a sweet way to give the more advanced students another option if you don’t mind my sharing. I of course, ALWAYS give you credit and recommend your channel to my students.

      Hello Linda!👋🏽🌹 I would be honored for you to share this with your students!!🤗✨✨ As simple as this technique is, there are many lessons to be learned from it. Heat control, adding components, working off mandrel and ways to make loops! I only wish I had a place to teach here in a classroom setting…. great to hear from another teacher! 🤩🌹🌹 Thanks so much for sharing and enjoying!!

    Hi Robin, nice idea, a mushroom in a mushroom ! And thanks a lot for the good tips, I will know now how not to trap a bubble in the clear around the stem👍 ! Today, I did a similar black and white fish and coral that you did in a previous video, so double thanks ! Cheers, 🌺Sonia

    Robin these are so cool!
    I have made so many of these and never thought of turning them into the stem of another mushroom.
    Also this made me feel so much better about doing almost all of my pendant bails like that. If I try to freehand a bail in soft glass my pendants will almost always crack.

      @@scottwoodresearch Thanks so much for your kind comment 🥰. I love showing people what glass can do and all the things that you can make with it. I've never worked with anything other than boro and some fuseable glass. Is there a big learning curve to learn 104?

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @FusingShop Hello Sim! ✨🌹 I love that we have TH-cam to share the amazing possibilities of glass! I also use Boro…but it depends on what I’m doing. I’m much more comfortable with the soft glass though …and I think the learning curve would be easier for a Boro worker than the other way around. The 104 is so soft! When I started playing with the Boro Glass, it felt like I was starting all over again… Like I didn’t even know what I was doing!😂 🌹✨ Cheers- Robin 👋🏽✨✨

    • @FusingShop
      @FusingShop 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@scottwoodresearch Lol Robin. I've seen people work with 104 and it looks like it flows so smoothly. Then I look at my boro vids and I'm like "why is this taking sooo long." Hope you have an awesome day! Sim

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @FusingShop Hey Sim! 😂👍🏽 That is so true! I have also seen a lot of people use a very small flame with the 104. (I tend to work with a larger flame on a bigger scale.) The one thing I am still aiming for, is to be able to use the thinnest stringer….It is so hard for me! 😅 I have seen people use it with the skill of a surgeon…like magic!… lol…one of these days I will make it work!! 🤩✨✨ Cheers- Robin🌈🌹

      @@scottwoodresearch my friend does find glass very intriguing and a very magical property but is still not ready to go anywhere near a torch and keeps telling me she never will be lol but I don’t believe it haha. Hi Robin, great technique, and easy to see lots of different opens to adjust the design and add more elements. Super cool as always, thanks 😊
    Also continuing on from a previous chat (sorry can’t find where it was) Good point about working with boro uses up a lot more oxygen, this makes soft glass very tempting to stick with. And I noticed you use the tip of your Hellcat torch as a marver occasionally and since I’ve got a Hellcat too, it looks like a handy tip but wanted to check if this causes any issues and do you have to clean the torch face often? Thanks for a amazing lessons and wisdom 🤓👌

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Dan! 😃✨ Thanks so much!! There are a lot of ideas to pull from this one….Happy that you enjoyed! 💫 I do like to use the front of my torch to marver on every now and then….and It has never affected the torch itself. Patrick bought the Hellcat for me around 2010. I’ve never had to clean it or get it serviced….its been great! 👍🏽💫 I Hope yours also gives you many years of maintenance free play! 🤗🌹 I do recommend having a torch marver on top….i love using it, but usually not when I’m filming because I can’t get it all in my GoPro view. 😅 Thanks for sharing!!
      Cheers- Robin 💫

      @offtheplinth 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@scottwoodresearchHi Robin, that’s amazing to hear you haven’t had to clean your torch. I didn’t think about adding the GoPro as another thing you’re dealing with while teaching us 🤓 I bought Hellcat secondhand so thought I’d better give it a good clean. Some of the torch manuals suggest cleaning to torch face every time including inside the tubes! I thought this sounded over the top but it’s tricky to find any other information so big thanks as always for the info and inspiration 😁

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @danbowran6684 hey Dan! When I was teaching flameworking at the museum we always had to clean the torches. New students would always get glass on the torch tips, clogging up the ports. Having a port reamer is great for that…I hope you have one on hand just in case! I have always been good to my torch, yet accidents can happen, and it’s good to know what to do if they occur! 😅
