Hi Robin, great to learn the next stage of this process, the silver reactions look amazing. I really like the different bead shapes as well and to see how you build them. Excellent as always, I’m already looking forward to the next magical bead demo 🤓
Hello Dan! ✨👋🏽 I’m really glad you enjoyed the shape of this one! It is refreshing to get out of the round. I’m excited to share more! These silvered shards are so beautiful and fun to blow out! ✨ ✨I wanted to let you know that I received your email…Thanks so much!! 🤗🌹 I promise to respond! Hoping you’re doing well down under!!👋🏽🌈 Cheers- Robin💫✨
@@scottwoodresearch Another future video topic could be blowing bubbles. I’ve played in hotshops for years too so can manage to get a few bubbles done. However they’re a lot trickier than I was expecting, and I noticed we both super-heated the glass while holding the mandril horizontal. I was wondering about mavering the tip of the bubble, like in the hotshop but seems like there’s not enough glass to maintain the heat. Anyway a demo sometime would be great to see if your ever wondering what else to show us 🤓
@offtheplinth Hi Dan! 🌹✨ I’m glad you noticed that….it is exactly like blowing furnace glass but on a tiny scale! 😂👍🏽 And you are correct…I don’t marver the tip of the bubble because it is so small but holding the pipe horizontally is key!💫 This soft glass does not lend itself well for blowing as much as the Borosilicate is…I’ve tried and failed miserably! But for blowing the shards, it’s perfect! (I say that …but there are ways to work a small bubble of soft glass into vessel form. And I will most certainly share that at some point! ) 💫Thanks for sharing!!🤩✨ Have a wonderful day ahead!! Cheers- Robin 👋🏽🌈✨
I never knew we could support a TH-cam channel like this. Glad to do a little to help. Lovely results. I'll have to try changing my annealing temperature. I'm in Texas for the eclipse so won't be able to play till I get home. Toodles
Thanks so much, Linda!! 😍🙏🏽✨✨✨ We appreciate your generous support!! 🥰🌹🌹 I will be getting oxygen soon and this will definitely help! ✨✨ It’s funny that you mention the annealing temperature…I am going to try the silver glass at a lower temp of 920 to see if it there is a difference! I’ll let you know what I find!!🌹 Have fun in Texas and enjoy the eclipse!….my hometown Arlington & DFW! 🌈💫💫 Big Hugs- Robin 🌈🙏🏽✨✨🌹
I'm so happy that you mention that you do care for support!! ❤❤❤ All the work you put in in every single video is just fantastic and realy should pay off! Can't wait till next time! ❤❤❤❤
Hello Susanne!!😍🌹🌹👋🏽 We do care!!! 🤩🙏🏽 Thank you so much dear friend!! 🥰🌹 These ‘Super Thanks’ tips are the most generous way to show your appreciation and support for what we do here!! Really cool project and results! Thank you so much for everything you do. You are my main source of motivation and inspiration. Your artistry is tremendous. You make it look easy and I know how challenging it all is!

While I wait for my blow pipe to arrive, I dug out some shards I had purchased from an Etsy seller a while ago. They are multi-colored and I decided to try them on very pale transparent beads. I’m really liking the look. Next I want to try having the shards “floating” between two layers of transparent glass.A suggestion for a future demo might be multi-colored shards. In any event I love all your demos and since I’m still quite new at this, I learn a tremendous amount from each one. Thank you so much for all the work you put into each video.
Hi Leslie! 🌹✨Thanks so much! I’m so excited for you to receive your mini blowpipe! 🤗 Making these shards are fun!! I’m glad you had the opportunity to try the ones you purchased. I have been thinking of making some more colorful ones soon….be on the lookout!😃✨ I have nothing for this weekend but hopefully I can make something magical for the next time! Keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks again for sharing…so happy you enjoyed!! 💫🙏🏽✨✨ Cheers- Robin 🌹🌹🌹
Wow the colors are fantastic, really 1000 degrees? I had always heard to put kiln at 940 for silver glass? Thanks for mentioning people who sent money for support. Sorry that it did not dawn on me. I just sent a bit. Hope you got it. My first try at sending money to you tube account. Really thank you so very much I watch every video. Only try a few but I do learn so much you are great at teaching. And great camera angle. Hugs 🥰

We are so grateful and fortunate to have such wonderful supporters and subscribers!! 😍🌹🌹🌹 We stand by our free information policy….but tips are always appreciated!!😂 you know, I set my annealer at that temperature and never thought about it again! 😅 I will have to play with these colors again and anneal at a lower temperature to see if there is any difference…..hmmmm?💫✨✨ Thanks so much my friend- 🌹🌹Cheers to you- Robin 🙏🏽🌈
Yippee it has been many years since my last shard so this was fun. I made the ivory with silver foil , then put it onto a black lentil shape bead and a few dots with DH happy, trying to search for more shard recipes, can’t seem to find any. I guess they are held tight. Thanks again. Quite fun
Hi Maria! 🤗🌹 Yea!! 💫 I’m so happy you had good results with this one!! 🤩💫 I will also do a bit of research and experimenting with more combinations and let you know what I find! 🌹🌹 Thanks so much for sharing!✨✨ Big Hugs- Robin 🌈👋🏽

Atlas is one of my favourite DH colours, but I had never thought to add more silver to it. In southern hemisphere news... summer is just about done! I heard my first currawong yesterday (they migrate here through the cooler weather).
Hello Jirup! 🌹✨ It’s fun playing with these DH silver rods ….and anytime I get a chance to use silver foil makes it even better! 🤩✨✨ I’m so happy to hear that the Currawong are coming back around! Fall is just around the corner for you!! 💫🌹🌹 Hope you can get on your torch soon! 💫 Cheers- Robin 🌈🌹
The colour reactions with the black are gorgeous. The way it turned a rich blue was unexpected. I love it when you show more examples at the end of the video. I love them all but my favourite is the longer bulbous one. So what are you going to do next with shards? Looking forward to seeing your creations. Have a great day Robin 😁
Hi Shelley! ✨🌈 The combination of black and silver is always so magical and unique! The one you like was my first attempt, so I kept it simple. I am I love with this way of adding silver glass in thin shard layers!! Needless to say, Im sitting on a ton of shards now….😂😆✨ I will definitely have to figure out some fun ways to keep incorporating them into the demos! Glad you enjoyed!!🌹🌹✨ Thanks so much! Have a great weekend! 👋🏽💫Cheers- Robin ✨✨🌹
Well I had always been taught and read to set at 960 for soft glass and silver lower at 940. Never heard anyone using 1000 for soft. Yes do try lower and if you get great or different results please let me know. There is a very good silver bead maker/ teacher named Hayley Tsang Sather and she teaches using a lower temp. Hope it works. Second- so you have tanked O2 so that is how you can do Boro so well your torch can get way hotter. Using a concentrator I have less heat. Such is life. Again thanks and look forward to next creation you share. Such a joy 💐🔥
Hi Maria! ✨🌹 You are correct! I’ve annealed work between 920 and 1000 degrees… My temperature is for both Boro and soft glass. (It also doubles as a pick up oven) However as soon as I run my program it holds at 950 for an hour. It works great for me, but I’m still going to explore a lower temp for the silvers! 😍👍🏽 I tried an oxygen concentrator once and I just needed more pressure!😂🌹 …we do have to haul the tanks to get filled every month. It’s a pain in the ass but worth it! 😅 Thanks so much for the input my friend!! 🌹🌹🌹Cheers- Robin 🙏🏽🌈

Hello Margaret!✨🌹 Thanks so much!! I’m glad you are enjoying the demos!😆🤗🙏🏽 When the silver foil gets really hot it pulls together into tiny balls and spreads onto the glass but never burns. I don’t think it can get too hot. 🧐 So much fun to play with!!💫🌹🌹 Have a wonderful week ahead! Cheers- Robin 🙏🏽✨✨🌈
