While the 780M is quite fast and I guess impressive from an APU perspective it's still very disappointing when you compare to dGPUs like the 1050Ti which despite being geriatric at almost 8 years old are still similar in performance. With people defending such mediocre showings of performance we are never going to see truly competitive AMD APU silicon.

@@BonusCrook Depends on the game. In DX12 (new) games the 780M is consistently faster than the 1050 Ti. In older DX11 games the 1050 Ti can be faster. 1050 Ti's actual advantage is it goes in any PCI slot, good luck finding a 780M in anything other than a Mini PC or laptop. Also 1050 Ti: 70W, 780M: 35W, half the power.

The Ryzen 5 5560U has Radeon RX Vega 6 graphics, which is capped at 2gb of vram. If you're ever unsure of the integrated graphics you can refer to the CPU Monkey site.
a Ryzen 7 5700G with PBO Enabled and its RX Vega 8CUs and DDR4 4000MHz+ RAM would have had much better performance, like +50~60% compared to the RX Vega 6CUs and DDR4 3200MHz RAM we saw here.

640 x 480 is still a resolution today because that's VGA standard, with 320 x 200 being the minimum and depreciated now/DOS games are usually in this res. It's still used today for CRT lovers, people from countries still rocking 4:3 and obv since it's the second lowest resolution you can render in a game with the various methods of display interfaces/outputs we have.
I feel like with an undervolt, a higher end (still quite cheap) cooler like the peerless assassin and a PTM7950 thermal pad you could push this up a notch. Add to that my biggest beef with AM5 lapping (more like shaving) or delidding that thick heat spreader. There's genuinely room for improvement.

If you are using a "K" CPU you can easily overclock the GPU by almost factor of 2 depending on the silicon lottery, it's just that it rarely makes sense for a high-end system
And fsr 3.0 would usually be the best option for getting the best fps-quality but without a GPU I think using Intel's upscaled would be the best option with the right applications to run it

I noticed that the reported vram for the 780m is at 2gb I would be curious if you set 8gb to be vram if you’d get better frame times or slightly better average fps just seeing how you have 32gb of system ram to play with

AMD'S newer apus are far better than the mistakes they made back in the day where they not only couldn't do dual channel memory, but limited the igp memory bus to 32bit! Can't wait to get a 890m powered mini pc!

Not RGinHD here but someone with a 780M in a 70W MiniPC (Ryzen 7 7840HS) and also full gaming PCs. If you already have a 1660 Super then use that, it'll be better than the 780M in every way (kid has one in their gaming PC). Get the Ryzen 5 7500f or 7600 and pair it with the 1660S.
No, there is no point to take a 8700G if you already have a 1660super, the IGP from the 8700 is weaker, any ryzen 7000 gonna be a better gaming cpu than the 8700

But relatively you should see 15% to 30% increase depending on frame gen type, and upscaling. But note input latency, ghosting, frame skips and stutters.
Seems like Intel don't really care about iGPU's, they'd rather you just bought one of their CPUs and paired it with either an Arc GPU, or (on the other extreme) something like a 4080/4090.
The 780M at minimum settings didn’t look great compared to a discreet graphics card but look at your own video, compared to the other 2 APU’s the 780M look great!

Yes, this will roughly match the performance you just saw with the Radeon 780M in the Ryzen 7 8700G you just saw here, so it will be perfectly playable in 1080p Basic.
Of course anyone buying a 14900K is not buying it to play with the graphics on it they will probably use a RTX 4080 or 4090 or 7900xt or 7900xtx you don't buy a 14900k for a 6600xt in other words.
You should because the graphics are horrible in this game and they're even releasing it on last gen consoles but they'll develop specific codes that won't allow so on purpose and demand high end gpu's.

i remember finishing tomb raider 2013 and doom 2016 on my i5 6500 igpu with no issues and smooth fps over 60+ with tweaked settings ofc .

It's playable. I played with far worse back in the day. At least it works if you can't afford the high end graphics cards of today.
My 6900XT only gets like 100 fps on 1440p ultra with FSR. Very upsetting.

The UHD 770 would work with GeForce Now though. I myself have an i3 12100f and RTX 3050 8GB in my build.
