    I just did mine this past weekend. This video was very helpful so thank you.
    I struggled to get the old lines out so what I did was basically disassemble the lines on the truck. I took off all the clips, and clamps that held them together and separated into individual lines. I then dropped the sway bar and they slid right out. I did the same to the new line set and slid each one in separately. They went in with ease.

    My 2015 is at the stealership right now for this job. Going to cost me about $800. I'm getting "hosed" for sure. This includes new trans filter, seal & refill though. I just don't have time and am getting too old to fight under trucks. I still change my oil but even that sometimes makes the old muscles sore.
    Good days work young man.

    Good video sir.
    For most I would replace those 2 lines that connect up front as well. Those are also prone to failure and are not very much $ and you also dont need the tool mentioned if you do so.
    A real shame that it appears so many f150 have the potential to destroy there transmissions because of this. I caught mine between oil changes before it leaked but it would have been a complete failure not just a drip. Those lines will dump it all out real quick when they break.

    • @YouTubeCert
      @YouTubeCert  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yessir, I stumbled across a few posts where ppl did dump it all without noticing and bricked their trannys.

    Same here, seen small leak. Closer inspection the pressed metal shoulder going from disconnect to hose had split. Well I changed everything. Lines, all of them. Cooler, mount stud. What was your trick to feed the lines through to the front? The front motor mount bracket I lightly bent it towards the back of the truck. That's heavy stainless a little fudging didn't hurt it and went right through! I ended up refilling with mercon lv almost 10 quarts.

    • @YouTubeCert
      @YouTubeCert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I took the plastic clips off of it and ended up turning the opposite way it installs to feed it thru to the front then I turned it back around & installed. Mine took about 4 quarts to get it back to full.

  • @SergioLopez-rw8uo
    @SergioLopez-rw8uo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This will not work for a 2 . 7 ecoboost. I had to disassemble the 2 lines completely. At the end that connects to the trans with the bracket, I had to break the lock ring/washer to take the 2 lines apart. I replaced it with a retaining ring from local hardware store. For me The line was impossible to feed through when both lines were connected.

    Wow this was great, thanks so much for sharing. My 07 Expedition is the same, no leak yet but wanting to do this job. One question - you ended up both removing the lines and reinstalling from the trans side (pulling them out from the back side, and re-installing from the back side) right? With the 'twist' and removal of front clip making that easier... Correct? Thanks again

    • @YouTubeCert
      @YouTubeCert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is all correct. I found it easier to pull them from the trans side of the truck. Removing the clips and it easier to maneuver them to the front of the truck.

  • @russell-hj6kp

    I just changed out my transmission lines, I'd advise to change out all 3 lines, mine looked ok, until I pulled them out, and in one section there was a rust spot, which is a weak point, I couldn't see it until I removed the original lines running into the radiator, just saying, might as well change all 3 lines, and the lead valve plate panel inside the 6R80 transmission has issues, going down the highway, suddenly drops down into low gear ,which can cause a accident or destroy the transmission, another FORD PROBLEM IDENTIFIED. 😮

The "special" tools are a very bad design, no matter the company they come from. Two tiny screwdrivers did the job, like I said, in a few seconds. I returned the "special" tools, btw.
