I had a backyard repair place with a good reputation replace my stator. It seemed fine at first but it I wanted it fixed so I could sell it. Well something is wrong. When I shift the wolverine it feels like the motor doesn't totally shift from one gear to the next. It herks hard when it shifts or it just doesn't shift. Could it be the shift linkage is out of time! I mean should I adjust the linkage a few notches on the shift spline?
There may lie a nut you could turn on the opposing side of the engine (opposite side of the magneto) that may adjust this.. I've yet to test it on mine but I believe I seen it in another video so take this with a grain of salt but it may be worth a shot. Edit: I meant to add. There's various things you could test to try and solve this.. it also may be a shift lever issue or even not enough gas for all I know.. I'd have to see a video to try and better guage a solution to your issue. However It kind of sounds like the repair may have gotten botched and your shift lever may be missing something or ... along those lines..
