I just went and bought a new carb to end up having the same problem. I'm going to go do the very same thing and pray it fixes the problem. Great video n thanks for the tip.
It's not my warrior, lol. I still got her and won't get rid of it. Was a good friend's quad that unfortunately passed away and was lucky enough to get it.
i have a 2002 yamaha 350 wolverine and yeah the rope kicks back hard!. also we had troubles with our carb so we switched to a warrior carb and it does better then the dumb diaphragm ones
Any ideas why this effects throttle?? This is a parking brake switch.. arcing or something is the only I can think of.. same issue and this video solved it.. odd fix but thanks a ton!
@@scrgarage1530 I did realize a few days after this fix, I replaced the entire rear caliper. Some sort of safety for the system does make sense now. Thanks again
Hey do you know how to fix a problem on these carbs?. I give it full throttle and its rideable but the slide doesn't move. It's vacuum operated and do you how to fix it
It's a parking switch that limits the engine rev while the parking brake is engaged. They mess up quite a bit and then the bike thinks that the parking brake is on and causes it to limit the engine rev while riding.
Having some issues on mine as well, I have eliminated the parking brake as the issue, the engine will rev high under minimal load, but not when under a load. I think the main jet isn't opening like it should and was wondering if you knew of a good rebuild kit for the carb?
If you wanted to save a few bucks, you could run a piece of wire through the jets to make sure they are opened. But if you want a rebuild kit. The ones I like to use is outlaw racing and tusk.
@@scrgarage1530 Thanks, I took apart the carb apart and the jets are all clear. I suspect the upper diaphram isn't air tight and its not allowing the needle to lift to open the jet. I ran it today without a filter to see if the Needle/gate would lift when reved but it didnt.
Yep! this is the problem I had with my 99. Your video helped me out. I wouldn't have tried to unplug the switch til I seen this video.
I'm glad my video was able to help you out. That's my goal with the videos for entertainment and to be helpful.

I believe what is happening is that the parking brake switch messes up and then the bike thinks that the parking brake is on and limits the rev.

Do you have any videos on how to fix the parking brake?

Thanks for the info. Had the exact problem and unplugging the connector fixed it! Do you know what the switch is for?

Make sure your vacuum slide is working properly. I had mine not seal properly when I rebuilt it.
Good video
nice job
Same issue that mine had, mine is identical, color and all.
How much to fix mine Where are you located?
If you try and run it with the parking brake set, it'll do this. Just release the parking brake, and you're good to go...
This was my problem, I appreciate you.
Just picked one up.
ebrake choke disconnect...
Sounds like the e brake sensor :Edit it was the e brake sensor
yeah
That exhaust also has no bafle in it
What year is this???
Do believe it's a 2001.
disconnect parking brake switch
Why my lights want cut on
Do they want to cut out while driving? If so the bulb could be bad or you could have a bad connection or fuse.
Would this cause it to not turn over as well? I have power to lights and winch but nothing when trying to start.
I don't believe that it would cause the bike not to start. I'm thinking that the starter solenoid might be the culprit.
