I did the static test between 1-2, 1-3, 2-3, and got the right resistance value.
But when I do the 1-2-3 to ground I dont have Open Line but 1,50 Ohm instead.
What does it mean when you get values doing the Ground test? Damaged stator or bad connection somewhere? Thanks a lot

6.27.20. A dynamic test is a far better indicator on the condition of your stator windings.....If you do regular testing during your riding season, and you’re windings start shorting together internally, on each phases coils, you will pick it up as a reduced voltage between phases. My 1985 Honda Gold wing GL 1200, has about 70 VAC between phases at 3000 RPM. I test periodically throughout the riding season, so I can keep abreast on the condition of my coil windings of each phase. If I start seeing a variance between phases like say 70 to 60 or 50 VAC, I know it’s not gonna be long and I’m going to have to change out my stator. Being that it’s a Honda Gold wing four-cylinder, the Engine needs to be pulled in order to change out the stator. ⚡️ I do not want to be caught out away from home on a trip with a dead Stator‼️ I also went to a series configured rectifier regulator SH847®️, instead of the stock shunt type❗️

Hello - im really spinning my wheels tryting to find an answer - Ive put in a brand new regulator / rectifier, and done the tests on the stator you describe. They all pass except for one but i think my MultiMeter is not accurate enough - the test between each phase/coil is coiming up as 0.0 between all 3. Otherwise the stator outputs a consistent 28V on each coil at idle and 50+ when revving. The problem im having is that when the bike is running (2003 BMW F650CS) and i measure the voltage between the battery terminals, it fluctuates wildly continually between 30 to 110V.
I just cannot work out what the problem is. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.
Secondly, does it matter which way around i connect the x3 AC wires to the regulator (I had to splice) ?

I'm thinking about spending the money for one on partzilla, any input would be nice.

I need a pro to solve this problem i am having with my honda vtx 1300.
The problem: no voltage out of reg/rec and its wires quickly turn super hot.
-Dynamic test on the stator shows 20-45 volts as i accelerate with no Reg rec connected. As i connect the reg/rec voltage drops to 5 and to 3 as i accelerate.
No shorts to ground from stator leads.
I thought it was the reg /rec so i replaced it 2 times.
Now thinking it could be the stator.
Any pro can help me with this?
    Many thanks!!

Stator is bad. You have to have the resistance values before you start. Remember ambient temperature affects resistance. Standard room temperature is 68-degrees, which resistance values are given. any variation you need to add or subtract 10% of your resistance value.

No, the stator on all motorcycles creates AC current, your rectifer or regulator converts to DC and that might be 6v or 12v depending on the age of the bike

I love the way you explain everything in great detail, but I have a question. I am working on a Suzuki Eiger 400 here the magnets separated from the flywheel, which I am aware is a common problem on these machines. I understand that the stator can be damaged as well as the reg/rectifier. What is the best way for me to test that the trigger was not damaged on this machine. I heard about a procedure where you wave a magnet in front of the trigger to see if you get a reading? I would appreciate any help with this.
    Thank you sir

Honda doesn't supply ohm readings for electrical because ohm tests are not accurate , Honda wants tests done with a peak voltage adapter ... Honda also doesn't want you poking test leads into a wire coupler , that will spread the pin holes causing a poor connection ..

When I started looking for the problem I found the coil wire got disconnected, wasn't off much, enough for the signal to jump to the coil. I've tested the coil and the secondary output was 9000, is that ok, good or bad. I havent tested the stator yet. But next move . Thanks for the video. I have learned valuable information here. When doing a dynamic test on a stator to a motorcycle with 42 yr. old tachometer and the multi voltmeter has a clamp to measure R.P.M.s. Where is the best placement for that clamp to measure true and accurate R.P.M.s? At the coil wire going from the coil or one of each four of the spark plug wires to get a consistent R.P.M. reading from the spark plug wires? Thanks again for the video and look forward to seeing your response, Clayton.

    Hi,
I noticed that my bikes battery is not charging.
I replaced the old battery at about a 100 km ago the old one with a new lithium one.
I checked the charge coming out of the rectifier end and got only a few millivolts.
I checked the current and resistance on the regulator rectifier and it does work according to specs.
I checked the rectifier itself, resistance between coils = 0.5 Ohms , within specs. No Short to body.
Started the bike, rev up to 5000 rpm, multimeter on AC current shows 0.5 volts on each coil of the rectifier - no good.
I checked the wires and connectors - All OK. I was told that the flywheel itself could be faulty, is that even a possibility?
    Any suggestions ?
