You must be one of the most special people I follow on the internet, I love everything about this video, specially your life lessons. This travel solo thing is amazing, but still "scary" for an introvert... I don't think I could appreciate it the way you do.
Im an introvert too. But after like spending 1 hr in a social event (while hating how im even there), i start to open up and go abit crazy (for me that just means talking to people before they talk to me, or actually keeping a conversation going with a stranger). Maybe youre the same, so after like the first day in a country, you might actually enjoy it.
I admire you for showing the beauty of difficult situations! It really helps in believing that one doesn't have to be afraid of travel, it is all going to be fine :)
You look like one of the Greek muses & that's the GOSPEL TRUTH!! seriously, you are glowwwwwinng ♥️ this is how you look when you live the life you want ⭐️ you glow from within

I'm Greek and omg I just have to say it is really impressive how much effort you put into studying all these languages. Even simple phrases most people don't bother with when they travel so I'm super impressed! Love ya!
So freaking AMAZING how you switch from one language to another. It really shows how much you charm strangers because of it!!! But it does help that you're already charming to begin with. Jo, you're my hero. ❤❤❤
i love that bc you know many languages in your trip you can find people who speak the same language!! it’s so amazing! you really are my inspiration Jo 🥰💗
I’m solo traveling right now in Buenos Aires (I’m Brazilian). And there’s no better felling than that, it’s just something else. Thank u so much for inspiring me to keep my journey 💛 (I think those videos in Greece are my favorites, sorry Damon
Jo I found it so cool that you jut try so speak a new language so much and you don't care about what anyone might think! honestly big inspiration :) and amazing video as always!
Agistri is full of people during summer days! Especially young people, while it's also known for its free-camping spots! Great vibes as always 😍 Extremely happy that you visited my county and had a great time!
When I visited Greece in 2015, the one island I was able to visit was Agistri and it was the right choice! It was so peaceful and beautiful and I miss it so much.
Helllo from Corfu , Greece from a fellow travel girl! I love the way you present my country and most of all , all the love you have for languages and people! You are great in greek btw! You are both welcome in Corfu anytime!
As a native greek that currently lives and studies in Germany, I find it really interesting and funny that Jo ist learning Greek and Damon is learning German at the same time! The two languages that fight in my head all the time! love you guys
I love how you’re dedicating lots of vids to Greece because I feel like people forget about Greece and the Greek language. The people seem so incredible and now I wanna go!!
I want to say thank you so much!! Because of the two of you I was in Norway visiting a friend last weekend and will be in Vienna visiting another friend before Christmas. I was watching your channel and idly looking up places I wanted to go and found super cheap tickets for that very weekend. Normally I'd have just went 'it's too last minute' but instead I called her, asked what she was doing that weekend and when she said I could stay I booked it on the spot! I had an amazing time and as soon as I came back I called my grandparents to ask if they could get me plane tickets to go to Vienna instead of their usual Christmas presents. I can't wait to go! You inspired me to stop putting it off and go travelling! THANK YOU!
I have social anxiety so watching you speak with such confidence and ease with the locals makes me want to work harder on my social skills and be more open like you ❤
My friends and I have been saying 'Malaka' ever since our Greek friend taught it to us last year. We now use it to greet one another, as means of congratulations, for EVERYTHING! Loved hearing you fall in love with it too.
In the future when you’re really old, you’re gonna look back at your life and be so happy that you traveled and did all the things you’re doing. That’s how I’m trying to be too
This video was such a breath of fresh air! The editing was so much fun. Your enthusiasm is a joy to see! Et c'est toujours impressionnant de te voir changer de langue aussi facilement ! Tu es impressionnante ;)
I find it great that the fans you saw were from Romania, because this channel inspired me to learn languages and one of them is Romanian! It put a smile on my face. I'm sure, if you guys learned it, and Catalan, you would know all the Romance languages.
Omg Jo! If you do come someday I would LOVE to meet you! You're such a positive, kind-hearted human being and I look up to you so much! Much love from Cyprus! xx❤
Yes please!!! Just be careful with the videos. Cyprus history is wild and people get offended easily ( which I totally understand!! Don’t get me wrong) but it’s such a beautiful island! I love it here.
Agistri during the summer is beautiful, there are so many great places to eat and go out at night and the beaches are amazing, you should really pay a visit if you're looking for something laid back as well as a solid greek experience
I love watching these greek videos because I'm about to go to greece in the summer and what better way to educate yourself than here! Also I loved the solo eating part because I honestly enjoy my meal better than when I'm with a bunch if people! #introvertmeals
You and your friend struggling to climb back to the top of the mountain reminded me of when I had a bad cough and cold and struggled for what seemed like forever to climb Masada and also not die. Worth it though 😅
Can you do a video on why and how you’re able to stay so open to everyone you meet during your travels and how you don’t let stranger danger stop you (especially on solo trips)? I’m from Florida, the land of the weird and crazies, so it’s hard for me to easily open up to locals during my own travels, even though i really want to! PLEASE and THANK YOU!!
I wish I had friends like Damon and Jo. Their videos make me laugh all the time and I have never met them or hung out with them ever. Keep up the good work guys.
agapame Agistri, it's the perfect island for free camping near Athens in the summer ,especially in Dragonera ! You should visit Agistri again in June !
A Greek island with very beatiful beaches, generally really beautiful natural surroundings and not that pricey food is Skopelos (Panormos, Kastani and others but it has a lot of tourism in the summer, make sure you book early) and if you want no crowds of tourists around , you can go to Alonissos which is one hour away with the ferry. Volos, a city in central greece with a port has ferries for those islands (3 and 4 hours away are those islands) and it's a pretty nice city too to visit for some days too, because it too has beaches that look like the ones you'd see in islands just an hour away from it. Also, there is a mountain called Pelio surrounding Volos and there are some exquisite beaches there too like Fakistra and Milopotamos. Food is pretty cheap regarding athens and santorini and it's a small town with every road leading to the port so it's safe and easy to learn.
Agh, I’m Greek and I have to admit I love what you are doing Jo! You should 100% check out an island right next to Santorini called anafi! It has an amazing coastline with incredible beaches and only 150 residents! I visit anafi every summer since I was like 5 so you should toootaly ask me whatever you want to know about it and I’ll tell you all the juicy stuff 😉❤️🇬🇷
I like to picture myself having their life in the future but I also know that I'm too shy to talk to strangers and too scared of disappointing my parents if I don't go to university but then if I do go to university I'll just feel like I'm throwing my youth away to conform with society but I also can't travel bc I'm not fun so I won't make friends and like I don't even know what to do with my life hElp
Kast Yuty my thing is that you don’t need to go to college unless your trying to be something like a doctor or lawyer(because you want to not because your parents want you too) after HS I wanna travel so I think just finding a way to get money is important.I feel like since you said you aren’t fun ,you actually are but you don’t think that.I heard that in a lot of countries people like you a lot of you speak the language spoken their
you can either get a job after high school and get enough money and then travel or go to college, get a side hustle on the run, get a job during the holidays and after college is done, continue to work for a bit before going on trips. DamonAndJo have enough money to travel because they have a flexible job in which they are in control of and can get money on even while travelling and that there are smart with their money. So, you can also try to get a job that you can do while travelling.
You should visit Rhodos and Kalymnos. Both extremely beautiful islands. Rhodos is the true village life while Kalymnos is more small city feel and there is a lot to do there. I think you would really enjoy both islands!
I absolutely love Santorini! Perissa is such an underrated part of the island in my opinion. My husband and I stayed at Hostel Anna and one of our favorite places was the Cafe Atlas across the street and the 24 hour bakery. I can't wait to go there again
i've visited a part of greece with my family and somehow something always happened, like the weather was really bad, or we'd never have enough time, or we'd fight with some locals :DD or a bunch of little annoying things that stood in the way of really enjoying and admiring the beauty of this country. and now, watching this video, i really wanna go back there and wander around by myself and not let aaany little worry get in the way of having a great time. thank you, Jo for giving me this wanna-travel-alone-and-be-chill vibe:)))))
Your joy just really uplifted my spirit tonight. It’s been so grey, rainy, and cold here so I’m living vicariously through you right now. I can’t wait until I’m able to travel and make memories.
I travel alone a lot, and I always thought I was pretty good at making friends until I watched your videos. I wish I was able to talk to people as easily as you. Guess I should start learning another language!

"It's a slippery slope folks... Looks like our TH-cam stats" - I am laughing and crying at the same time

So many years in a Greek school learning Greek mythology and this is the best summary of it that I've ever heard.

It allllllll worked out! Like no phone, no boat, no plans, and it all worked out
How does Damon and jo not have more subscribers? Hands down the best travel/ linguistics account
