What you should take away from this video is how to build an effective team so that you are hiring the resources you need to hit your company's target. Often times when starting a home care company, we get ahead of ourselves and hit the ground running without identifying what type of company we want to be or who we want as partners. Entrepreneurs forget that employees are not founders and often don't take the time to be self critical.
What I suggest you do is
Step 1 - Take a personality test
Step 2 - Identify your strength and weakness
Step 3 - Define your mission vision and values
Step 4 - Design an organizational chart
Step 5 - Define the skills and competencies for each position on that chart
Step 6 - Interview objectively
Step 7 - Hire the best candidates ensuring they also have skills you lack
Step 8 - Orient
Step 9 - Set Goals
Step 10 - Evaluate

@@Karl__Pierre Florida but I just wonder Do you have any idea regarding the owner do I needing to be a reside in Florida for a minimum of 2 years to be approved for the state license or insurance providers? Do the state require or not?

Karl, I appreciate the information you are providing. You mentioned that to train your staff you use training videos as well as face-to-face. Did you create the training videos, for example, for skills training or use a 3rd party company? If a 3rd party company, what is the company you use or recommend?
Yes I do! We create our own videos. And do our skills training in person. When we are covering a new topic we film it.
New nurse, previous landlord. Michigan. I’m looking into travel nursing to build my capitol, but should I contract myself out instead in my area? Also, how do I contract myself out?
It's possible but as a travel assignment will have to be greater than 50 miles from your home. If you're looking to start one of these businesses I advise that you book a consultation or check out my course for guidance.

Hi again Karl! I had a thought or idea. Since I’m a nurse practitioner, can’t I just go to patients home and provide care that way and Bill their insurance? I can save and reinvest in my home health care to build. I’m trying to think of ways to leverage what I already have/ what I am.
That's a clever idea, I am not sure what your states department of health position is on that. If physicians can make house calls why not you. The only thing that I see being somewhat of an issue here is on medical bills. The location of service must be entered. Will the payers authorize in home care without you being registered as an in home provider. Another thing is what about your referral flow. I have another suggestion. Why not find someone with a home-care license that inst doing much with their practice. Offer to partner with them. As an NP you have a unique advantage in that you can work as a hospitalist and build a referral chain back to your home care agency if that isn't a violation of stark laws. If you go about it that way you don't have the capital outlay of getting started.
