    Luxury watches are on the breakfast table as Tim Mosso’s “Weekend Watches” brings the top luxury watch brands to the small screen! The Rolex Submariner “Bluesy” stars alongside the landmark Patek Philippe 5970 perpetual calendar chronograph and a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms dive watch in rose gold. Many more world-class preowned watches are ready to whet the appetites of watch buyers, watch collectors, and watch enthusiasts. This is TH-cam’s only curated luxury watch shopping experience!
    Two Rolex watches represent the most famous brand in luxury horology. A Rolex Submariner “Bluesy” in stainless steel and yellow gold impresses with its post-2012 blue metallic sunburst dial. The Rolex Day Date 36mm makes an appearance in platinum with the rarely seen Rolex “myriad dial” with diamond settings. A blanket of brilliant-cut diamonds rings a Rolex blue metallic dial center under hands with original Rolex tritium lume.
    Omega watches are represented by one all-time great: the 2018 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch “Dark Side of the Moon” Apollo 8 special edition. This 44.25mm black ceramic Omega Moonwatch includes a rich laser-ablated dial base, a fully luminescent bezel and crown, and a unique Lemania-based chronograph caliber 1869. The movement’s bridges and plates have been treated with the same laser-tuning as the dial in order to re-create the lunar surface in miniature.
    Patek Philippe, Geneva’s most prestigious watchmaker, fields two gold dress watches with complications to match Patek’s reputation. A 2014 Patek Philippe 5575G World Time Moon combines the romantic moonphase display with a practical world time complication in a unique 39.8mm white gold case built bespoke for this model. The 2007 Patek Philippe 5970G perpetual calendar chronograph is a 40mm rose gold opus with the famous Lemania 2310-based Patek caliber CH 27-70. Built only from 2004 to 2007, the 5970R is a bona fide investment watch that can be worn daily for pleasure.
    Finally, Audemars Piguet’s latest Royal Oak Chronograph arrives in stainless steel with a rare blue grande tapisserie dial. This 41mm Royal Oak features the “20th anniversary dial” that debuted at SIHH 2017, and the condition of this preowned watch is indistinguishable from new.

    I remember being bored in a jewelry store with my parents until I saw this day date. I told my dad that he should buy it then he laughed. Nowadays The day date would not be my first choice.... the PP Perpetual chronograph has my vote. If we consider a reasonable budget I believe the Breguet Marine would make my day amongst today’s selection

    Of course PPs & FPJs allways on the top.
    As I mention many times... Special note for the JLC Duomètre... Mmmm, someone other to compare with one of the best all time Chrono's ??? no way.

    Hi Tim, You folks are missing the boat. I've purchased several watches from WatchBox and have missed out on purchasing several. I would have picked up at least a half dozen more if, when you posted these videos, the watches were listed on the website. I was actually ready with $$$$ to purchase one of the watches you discussed today but it has not yet been put up on WatchBox. So... I ended up doing a Google search & found the watch. Just bought it. Cheers

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think these watches are underrated in the extreme. First, the mechanism is unique. Second, JLC builds hundreds, not thousands of them in the context of total brand output of over 100,00 watches. Then there's the finish, which is executed to a higher level than any JLC priced under $100,000.

      Tim

      It wouldn't select that date by itself. As with many, many perpetual calendars, you can set whatever date you want with the crown or pushers, but it would never select an impossible date when rolling through the calendar under its own power. I've had people ask the same question about the Moser perpetuals.

    I know you aren't a big fan either Tim, but seeing FPJs kinda gets boring after a while to me. I get that they are fantasticly made, but i'd rather look at watches less then half the price if they have something "new" or interesting to me. Or maybe i just don't like the hype cause im some sort of snobby hipster or something, who knows.
