@macandcheese306 Yes you're right, originally the butler said "...then I'm Jesse Owens". Owens was a black athlete who won four gold medals in the 1936 Olympics which took place in Berlin. Hitler wanted these games to be the showcase of the aryan power so here's the point. Later, someone thought the audience wouldn't know who was Jesse Owens and the line was dubbed "...then I'm Mickey Mouse" which probably is better known and makes the joke too.

If you read his lips then he actually says 'Jesse Owens', but the line was redubbed in post production because it was thought that the audience wouldn't know who Jesse Owens was

Mickey Mouse was angry about the fact that this video shows Indy punching the human version of Mickey Mouse.
If we look at butler's mouth, he didn't say "Mickey Mouse" but "Jesse Owens". Shame that this line was changed. "If you are the Scottish lord then I am Jesse Owens" would be much better line than "If you are the Scottish lord then I am Mickey Mouse".

Yeah, Steven changed it because many modern audiences probably wouldn't have known who Jesse Owens was and changed it to Mae West who was changed because of the same problem to eventually Mickey Mouse.

The standard Skywalker Sound punch, where sound effects aren't just heard..they're felt.
Indiana Jones Trilogy had the best sound production of all time. I’d recognize those “punches” in a heartbeat.

In an article it was said that Harrison Ford improvised when pulled her alongside. She wasn't expecting that and really did slide.
I always found the “I AM MICKEY MOUSE” line so amusing
Ford's Scottish accent and the beret makes him look and sound Italian in the end.
I love this scene since I was a kid. I still do, how the butler sees through Indy's lie and "I AM MICKEY MOUSE" makes me laugh but now I can tell that part sounds dubbed.
It WAS dubbed! What the butler really said was “If you are Scottish Lord, then I am Jesse Owens!” Mr. Spielberg felt the audience never knew who Jesse Owens was.

I wonder if the name Clarence MacDonald is a reference to both Donald Duck and his original voice actor, Clarence Nash since the butler's final response was Mickey Mouse.

It seems the actress slipped and the other actors reacted worriedly.
Something happened in between and was removed from the movie. And the sound effect was added as a Fowley effect.

One little tiny thing I’m just noticing that might be nothing.
At 0:54 between “this is a castle” and “and we have many tapestries” you can see the man shift kind of awkwardly to be more in front of the camera.
It is my uneducated opinion that this was him moving into the necessary position to obscure what would be the “hit” when Indiana Jones punches him.
For those punches to work, they can’t be seen from the sides otherwise you’d know they’re just faking it by missing. But if the punch is hidden or overlaps with the body of the person being punched, you can hide it and play a sound effect so it feels real.
So there ya go, a completely unfounded speculation based off a tiny bit of awkward blocking that may have ended up teaching you something you didn’t know. Have a nice today.
