Even in disguise, Indiana (Harrison Ford) takes his job as a ticket checker very seriously.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The third installment in the widely beloved Spielberg/Lucas Indiana Jones saga begins with an introduction to a younger Indy (played by the late River Phoenix), who, through a fast-paced prologue, gives the audience insight into the roots of his taste for adventure, fear of snakes, and dogged determination to take historical artifacts out of the hands of bad guys and into the museums in which they belong. A grown-up Indy (Harrison Ford) reveals himself shortly afterward in a familiar classroom scene, teaching archeology to a disproportionate number of starry-eyed female college students in 1938. Once again, however, Mr. Jones is drawn away from his day job after an art collector (Julian Glover) approaches him with a proposition to find the much sought after Holy Grail. Circumstances reveal that there was another avid archeologist in search of the famed cup -- Indiana Jones' father, Dr. Henry Jones (Sean Connery) -- who had recently disappeared during his efforts. The junior and senior members of the Jones family find themselves in a series of tough situations in locales ranging from Venice to the most treacherous spots in the Middle East. Complicating the situation further is the presence of Elsa (Alison Doody), a beautiful and intelligent woman with one fatal flaw: she's an undercover Nazi agent. The search for the grail is a dangerous quest, and its discovery may prove fatal to those who seek it for personal gain. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade earned a then record-breaking $50 million in its first week of release.

The Last Crusade definitely had the best humor imo. It's the kind of humor that you can laugh at while still taking the overall story seriously. It's the perfect balance of comedy and action!

aged 80 he still will play Dr Jones
IIRC he was a carpenter for movie sets. When he was offered a role in a movie, at first they would not meet his terms. He wouldn't budge and said that he liked being a carpenter.
He got what he wanted.

Apparently while filming the Temple of Doom, Harrison Ford actually scared the cast and crew by running across a bridge to see if it was safe, and George Lucas just said "What can I say, he *IS* Indiana Jones!"
Over 20 years later and it still makes me laugh.

I think what made me laugh hardest was how all the other passengers start waving their tickets around. "Boy, these ticket collectors are harsh! No free rides for *anyone* on this blimp!"

I like how his ears perk up when he realized who's talking.
The actor's name is Michael Byrne. He played the role of "Oberst Vogel", which I found ironic in this scene. Indy punched him in the face, then sent him flying on down into the baggage like a bird. Vogel is the German word for "bird". :-D
He was also great in The Sum of all fears.

They left everyone's luggage behind, along with a ticketless Nazi.
I think that was the unloaded luggage of the inbound flight.

The Zepplins operated regular services to NYC, and it's a luxury to fly on them. Not surprising that most passengers must have been wealthy and speak English.
Prior to WW2, zeppelins including that one from "Hindenburg disaster" had regular flights between America and Germany.. many wealthy German-Americans and Americans in general were onboard those zeppelins

A blimp maintains its shape by gas pressure only.
A Zeppelin or dirigible has an interior framework with gas cells inside.
This is why the largest blimp can hold perhaps a dozen people in seats and fly for a few hours, while a Zeppelin could hold 50+ people in staterooms and fly for days.

@@BobSaint Harrison Ford in his youth used to be about 6' 1", which during the 1930s and 40s in Europe would have been well above average. Note that the average American at the time was 2 inches taller than the average German back then. So Indy getting poorly fitting uniforms from the Germans he defeats actually makes sense in-universe.
And I love how the movie's music is in sync with the punches, the fall... everything, lol!!! It was a symphony while he was falling, lol!!! LOVE IT.
