In theory (although I don't know if done in practice since I haven't done webdev in a decade), not even this might be enough actually. Nothing is stopping the server from sending your browsing habits to Google or similar for analytics data. This is something the client wouldn't be able to block. I've used DDG for over a year and haven't noticed an issue with results. I choose the privacy over search results; especially when the results returned by Google and Bing are often censored/tailored to feed you a particular political narrative.
Let me get this straight, in order to get maximum privacy I need to get an extension app from google. I got 🦆🦆go because of how google operates. I’m more confused now
That was a bit misleading. DDG is useful because it doesn't sell data from your querries, but of course it won't protect you from the other websites you visit, it's just a search engine afterall. Their extension seem to do a fine job blocking trackers, but I think some adblockers already do that for you.
Literally the point of the video. So many people read "Tired of being tracked online? We can help." on DDG website without realizing that you need to add the extension.

Most of this is true - DuckDuckGo will not track you or mine your search data. However, it is NOT true that DuckDuckGo will not filter your search results. They do indeed do result filtering, similar to what Google does. The main difference is that they will perform the same filtering for everyone (sometimes based on location), and will not customize the filtering based on your search history.
Do you realize that the website itself uses cookies that can collect and share your data? If you don't want your data shared, you have to change your settings to block tracking cookies and data collection.
At 5:14, you advise using the Google Chrome extension, or the extension for whatever browser is used. That part could benefit from further detail. For example, my browser is Firefox, and at one time, at least, Firefox shared the same engine with Chrome. So, I may not need to add the Chrome extension.

Do not mind the search results at all. Privacy and non biased results mean so much more than a better collection of results. All the info is still out there, just need to click a few more links.. remember when you had to go to a library to find out anything lol 21st century problems
Why images in my DDGO disappear? I’ve been using this search engine for 5-6 years now, first time this happens. Input?
If you have a custom tracker, duckduckgo can't block it
Did you guys notice the smiley in his eyes that the lights make? I cannot unsee it anymore :(
Excellent, thank you.
Can u add the extension to google chrome on an adroid device?? Or is this only for computers??
Or you can just use a track blocking web browser
I’m glad this extension exists. It brings all of the features from the mobile app to even chrome!
Lito, how to use DUck duck go For apple products without chrome OS ? I changed the search engine for Safari into Duck duct go , but not able to find duct duct go extension. . Can you do a video podcast or for Safari without chrome OS , please. Thanks much . Your videos is important to us, educational.
Add FireFox browser to your Apple product, then use DuckDuckGo in it.
Liron , Tony rom New Zealand calling, I like you style bro, liked and subbed - cheers
I've used DDG for over a year and haven't noticed an issue with results. I choose the privacy over search results; especially when the results returned by Google and Bing are often censored/tailored to feed you a particular political narrative.
I’d switch but my school blocks any searches used from an engine besides Google
Duck Duck Go keeps a history of where you have been. You have to clear the history 1 site at a time...
This is great! thank you. I really had no idea that the extension was this useful. I was using it wrong xD.
It also gives TH-cam a D grade for privacy. Thanks Google... lol
Wait! This all assumes we don't want targeted ads. I'm a mountain climber. I have no need for ballet slippers and propellers for outboard motors. I want my ads targeted. Now what?
You are watching this video wrong
🙄
Most of this is true - DuckDuckGo will not track you or mine your search data. However, it is NOT true that DuckDuckGo will not filter your search results. They do indeed do result filtering, similar to what Google does. The main difference is that they will perform the same filtering for everyone (sometimes based on location), and will not customize the filtering based on your search history.
Do you realize that the website itself uses cookies that can collect and share your data? If you don't want your data shared, you have to change your settings to block tracking cookies and data collection.
If you’re convinced about advertising then you’re gullible
oh you mean the multi- trillion dollar industry that has been around way before technology? Yeah. I guess you know better🤦♂️
What?
you gotta know how to word your search criteria to get good results on ddg
At 5:14, you advise using the Google Chrome extension, or the extension for whatever browser is used. That part could benefit from further detail.
For example, my browser is Firefox, and at one time, at least, Firefox shared the same engine with Chrome. So, I may not need to add the Chrome extension.
Great info (and clever vector of self promotion searching your own website content, ha, ha.) Subscribed!
well that was the only way I could show the analytics - but a bit of shameless promotion doesn't hurt 😉
