Very impressive Yasmin! I am a native English speaker too though in my 60's so it's harder to learn. I also have a native Russian speaker I study with and in between I watch several You tube Chanels. I also listen to a Russian language station while driving. i am slowly, very slowly, getting to a level were I can at least understand a good deal. I have mastered the alphabet, so can read even, if I don't understand the words, I do recognize names, places and some vocab. Its a fascinating language! Best of luck to you! Thanks Dasha

As a russian native speaker I must say I'm impressed by your A2 level! Your speech is so clear and natural, with compound sentences and almost no grammatical mistakes! I'm currently learning German as a third language and see how hard it is to speak clearly and fluently even at B1 level... Good job, Yasmin and Dasha

My wife is Russian and although we speak English 95% of the time at home, I still try to surprise her with new words and sentences :)

Hi Dasha how are you, I am still learning Russian language because I have not joined any academy, I have also watched a lot of TH-cam channels but I am a little confused, which one is the best for beginner level, I have also joined Duolingo. 30 days have been completed today or I have watched 2 videos of yours now in which Daniel was interviewed or this video.
I want to know how to start, that is, how to make a time table.
I like these channels for beginners: Russian Grammar, О русском по-русски, Maria Petrova, Comprehensible Russian. Apps: Memrise, Drops, Babbel. I have a Russian for Beginners playlist on my channel.
I recommend you to practice every day at least for 20 minutes. Watch videos, write down and learn new words. Try to repeat and read aloud. Also speaking with a teacher would be really good. I like «Привет, Россия!» student’s book for A1 level.
Предполагаю что темп речи ведущей предназначен для иностранцев, но все равно медленно, как по мне. Для комфортного просмотра рекомендую скорость 1.25-1.50

I love Russian with Dasha! Rhetorical Question: Why does it seem like Russia only has a few names? Dasha, Daria, Katerina or Anna seem to basically cover 90% of Russian women. or some slight variation of them. Then Igor basically covers all the men that aren't Russeese(RussianCHinese)
Maybe it’s because you only know people with these names 😂 Anastasia, Elena, Veronica, Evgenia, Larissa, Tatiana, Natalia, Olga, Liudmila, Olesya etc. Igor is not the most common name. Alexander, Alexey, Evgeniy, Vadim, Vladimir, Danila, Nikita, Maxim, Ivan, Roman etc
Dasha and Daria is the same name
If you go back in time, Rome was the same way, there were only a handful of what we'd call first names (Gaius, Markus, etc), and they'd often be abbreviated with single letters (M. Agrippa). as you see in Russian today. While I'm not going to say they're related in any way, it is evidence that this phenomenon appears elsewhere in history and is not unique to Russia.
Also, up until the 19th century, the Orthodox Church only approved the names of saints for use within Russia.
Historically, names from the Bible or of kings and queens were the most common names used in many countries in Europe.

Это А2+, но не B1. Мы занимались по учебнику «Привет, Россия» для А1 и А2, B1 даже не начинали. Ясмин читает дополнительные материалы, смотрит видео и общается с подругой на русском, поэтому говорит грамотно.

Жасмин очень хорошо говорит, но от русскоговорящей слово "практиковать" в этом контексте уж слишком сильно ухо режет: ну не по-русски это, не говорят так.

To set the record straight - Russian is also a language of many Ukrainians and is spoken far and wide outside of Russia. It's also apt to point out that many Russian citizens do not support Putin's imperial war in Ukraine. The language itself is not at issue and is certainly not going away anytime soon. The primary source of the current sorry state of affairs stems from the current repressive Russian regime. Considering these facts, I think your point regarding the Russian language being "doomed" is more than a little misplaced.

@@mwgood523 First of all you should have confirmed that you are not a russian to make sure you are “arguable”. Second, the russian language in Ukraine is a language of occupants, its presence there is not a natural state and is a result of three centuries of repressions against the people and multiple bans of the Ukrainian. The russian language is quickly going extinct in Ukraine and it is a matter of probably two generations until it is completely gone. Third, almost all russians support this genocide. Look, even the author of this channel keeps silence and does not express any sorry about the situation. She 100% sure supports the war, trust me, like any other russian. Fourth, russia is going to split into multiple pieces, and those pieces will not maintain the russian language, so it is certainly doomed within 3-4 generations
I live in Ukraine and despise modern Russia, certainly as it's being moulded by their elite. But none of that is anything to do with the language. In Kyiv russian is still widely spoken. It's a consequence of history, similar to English in Ireland and Wales

For me, Russian is the language of Gogol, Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky. No country is perfect and as people we're all human and not so different even if politics obscures that sometimes.
