Revrides also has a detailed video on how to use the lcd screen on their TH-cam channel. They also recommend that some settings should not be changed in the video. Thank you for the video.
hi tnx for the guide. when i in the settings menu (p-settings) , and i long press the power button, the "A" in the bottom line changes to "D". do you know what is the purpose of this mode A/D ?
I really don't know sorry, there were a few iterations of displays used in the Zero scooters. RevRides is a good resource, you could reach out to them.
Just wanted to note on here that all ZERO 9 scooters going forward have the same controller as the ZERO 8. This video is only accurate if your controller says "TF-100" on the top of it. Regardless, this video is great and keep up the good work!!
I counted the magnets when I took the motor apart and there were 30 so I set it to that value. I havent’t noticed a difference. The speedometer is like 4 km/h off. I tried a few settings to no avail. Any ideas?
The magnet setting is totally goofy, I don't even know what it actually connects to, i should connect to the hall sensors to ensure the motor runs smooth. 4km off isn't bad for these displays, I usually play with the tire diameter to try to get closer to the actual speed.
Hi! at the first start the scooter gives me the fixed red triangle without the brakes pressed and does not start accelerating, could you solve the problem?
Thanks so much for these helpful videos! Do you guys allow people coming to visit your store in Vancouver or Portland to test out the scooters? Looking to buy either the Zero 9 or Zero 10 and would love to try it before buying! Thanks!
That would be a question for RevRides, I am not sure if he has a dedicated store front but there are a few shops that will be carrying the Zero's as dealers.
Hey man. Thanks for the video👏🏼 Super helpfull. The power level settings, when i turn it down the scooter just start superslow. Is there a way to make the display show «faulty» numbers? Like the accuracy of the speed. When i run max speed it only show like 25km/h whn im infact running at higher speeds? 🤷🏼 Heared rumors about it but no valid info as of yet. Thanks:)
Hey Jim thank you for your videos. I had an issue that I wonder if you could help me with, and I wonder if you had it as well. It happens to be that my Zero 9 came with a speed limit. I know that it’s maximum speed is 45 km/h, but in the case of mine, it came with a 25 km/h limit. I ordered it from Falcon PEV (since I’m from Mexico City), and I wonder how can I remove the speed limit to its normal/maximum top speed of 45 km/h capacity. I am afraid I am going to be using it pretty often for certain rides. And, if I actually paid for a bug with that capacity, I would like to be able to actually USE that power when needed, you know? Thanks ahead Jim, I’ll be waiting for your reply :)
Thanks for the question. I'll have to confirm this but i'm pretty certain you have to open up the deck to reach the controller. There will then be a single wire, commonly grey, connected. That connections locks in the speed limit. I'd suggest you call or email RevRides and they can tell you exactly which wire it is. Unfortunately I don't have the Zero 9 here anymore to get that detail for you. I hope that helps. Other than the speed, how is the scooter?
Electron Surfer Thanks for your answer bro, it was actually really helpful (I’ll do exactly that) And yeah, apart from that, I’m super impressed about the scooter. It’s actually A LOT bigger, heavier, and bulkyer than what I imagined it was gonna be. But that’s actually a good thing! Because it feels safer as well. Stable. I love the feel of it in general. Before this one I had a pretty cheap and crappy one (non electric), so the upgrade felt EPIC! It feels I‘m riding a beast! >_
@Edgar A, as far as I know there is no way to change what power mode it starts in, it could be a safety factor I suppose. When I power it on I just change it right to gear 3 immediately. Thanks for the comment!
@Marlown Mormor, The Zero 8 I have is 10.4ah. I don't think a larger battery on the Zero 8 would make a huge difference to me. That being said I personally like the Zero 8 a little more as its a little more nimble, the 9 is more comfortable and capable off the pavement.
It does have electronic braking which in theory would give a little bit of regenerative effect, the reality is with a scooter you won't get much regeneration but could save some brake wear.
@Alex Komang, Keeping the battery between 20% and 80% charge will give the best battery life. I'd try to charge before 1 bar as much as possible. Thanks for the comment.
Hi I got my zero 9 and in the controller settings it doesn't show alla P's just 3-5-7-9 and 99 and 99 has all 0's and can't change it does anyone knows how I can restart it or something;
@Mike Santana, I am not sure if the 10X has the same display as the 9. Besides the various speed limit settings i'm not really sure, i'd check all those. I don't have a 10x so I can't help you more unfortunately.
@MrZones21, code 10 = faulty comms between controller and LCD, maybe a loose connection. The detailed instructions do not have a code 8. If you pause the video at 1:10 you can see the error codes.
@Matt Harris, I found that if I increased the magnet setting the delay was less but the speedometer and odometer is then not accurate. I was hoping there would be a way to update the controller, i'll ask RevRides about this.
@Global Safety, As far as I know there is not a way for end users to change the speed limit. You could contact RevRides and they may be able to help more.
GOT MY ZERO 9 two days ago. She is all charged, extra LED lights. Ready to rock.....and it won’t stop raining in NJ. ****!
Sounds great enjoy the ride!

@Tyler Boni, Thanks for the comment, i'll update that in the video description that its for the 2018 model for the controller model.

If I have 52V 13 A battery version, should I change P3 setting to 52V or leave it at 48?
P setting should match the battery. It will give you more accurate information on the display.
Hi! at the first start the scooter gives me the fixed red triangle without the brakes pressed and does not start accelerating, could you solve the problem?
Hi! The LCD control unite just realized that has a USB port connection on the side , what is that for? And this is on Zero 9.
Thanks.
@jack menino, I think it is for device charging, I have one on my Zero 8, i'll verify for you tonight.
Thank you, just noticed USB port on zero 9. Will come in handy for charging phone and other devices, "Thanks for the smile".

Cameron Forras: ZERO 9 unless you are north of 200lbs. Damn does ZERO build a quality product! Shout out REV RIDES!
Thank you now I know how turn on the lights

@@lalobalandrano3335 exactly what I named my Zero 9."The Beast
Can you explain the explanation point a little bit more - what does under braking mean?
Do you mean electronic braking?
why are there no instructions coming with it.
There should be, these had them from RevRides, it depends on where you buy them I guess.
How do you get it to start in gear 3 from power on? Mine always starts in gear 1 when turning on.
@Edgar A, as far as I know there is no way to change what power mode it starts in, it could be a safety factor I suppose. When I power it on I just change it right to gear 3 immediately. Thanks for the comment!
hi thanks for the cool reviews, I would like to ask what would you prefer z8v2 13ah or z9?

How do u use cruise control feature while riding?
The cruise control engages automatically after being at the same speed for 2-3 seconds, i'll add that to the descriptions. Thanks for the comment!
Does it have a magnetic/regenerative braking?
It does have electronic braking which in theory would give a little bit of regenerative effect, the reality is with a scooter you won't get much regeneration but could save some brake wear.
@@ElectronSurfer the brake effect is really what i want, I got used with it from the xioami m365 that I had before.
i just bought zero9. how many bars should i charge the battery. 3 bars left. should i charge it now or wait till 1 or 2 bars left?thanks
@Alex Komang, Keeping the battery between 20% and 80% charge will give the best battery life. I'd try to charge before 1 bar as much as possible. Thanks for the comment.

I am pretty sure they changed the display since I did this video, I'd check with Falcon PEV or RevRides for the current settings.
My 10x only speeds 25km/h How can increased the speed?
@Mike Santana, I am not sure if the 10X has the same display as the 9. Besides the various speed limit settings i'm not really sure, i'd check all those. I don't have a 10x so I can't help you more unfortunately.
depends wich country you live in,in australia all electric scooters are capped at 25km/h and cannot exceed that.
Take your head light off on the left side there's a white wire unclip it this is the restrictor for the 10x
I run into a problem i now get error codes 8 and 10 do you have any idea what it is?
@MrZones21, code 10 = faulty comms between controller and LCD, maybe a loose connection. The detailed instructions do not have a code 8. If you pause the video at 1:10 you can see the error codes.
Thanks for the video! I'm assuming the settings work the same on the zero 8?
@n8rates; the setting are pretty different between the two scooters, i made a second video for the Zero 8. Thanks!
P7 magnetic number for zero 9 as said at 28 bit of delay or is 28 everyone's setting anyone????????
@Matt Harris, I found that if I increased the magnet setting the delay was less but the speedometer and odometer is then not accurate. I was hoping there would be a way to update the controller, i'll ask RevRides about this.
I have mine zero 9 set magnets to 30
