Despite being a relatively new investment product, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have claimed a decent portion of the market alongside index funds. As of July 2020, about 811 ETFs are available to Canadian investors.
I love ETFs for their ease of trading, diversification, and low costs. But if you are more into tangible assets like real estate but can’t enter the market due to high costs, REIT ETFs offer a fantastic middle ground. An ETF is a diversified portfolio of REITs - each with its own real estate portfolio.
This video can help you choose the best REIT ETF Canada.
I’ve ranked the REITs based on their capital growth potential (Five-year growth), and current dividend yield. Also, the dividend yield will be stated in this format: Current Distribution Yield | 12-Month Trailing Yield.

Could you do a video on the best mutual funds for Canadians? Even a bit of a video on why they are an investment strategy would be great too! Thanks n keep up the awesome vids!

Hey great suggestion! I actually have one coming that details the downsides of mutual funds in Canada, so keep an eye for that. It also covers some mutual funds you can take a look at (I mention the Vanguard ones briefly). Overall, I'm pro-ETF and negative on mutual funds. I've worked at a mutual fund company also, so I know a lot about the industry.

Hey! Slowly discovering your channel, great content so far! If I may, I suggest that you find a way to not have your notes on the side and to have them kind of in line with the camera. In the current video, once I noticed that, I couldn't stop thinking about it lol. Nothing else to say other than, keep the good work!

Thanks for the breakdown!Any particular reasons that CAR.UN and IIP.UN did not make the cut?

Those are REITs, not REIT ETFs!

I was thinking the same thing the whole videos, only vanguard seemed to have a MER below 0.5%. That cost just isn't worth the added diversity

if dividends are reinvested via DRIP, does that count as TFSA contribution? ie, will that reduce the contribution room amount ?

Hey this is a great question, so the short answer is no it does not reduce the contribution room. Anything earned within your TFSA account does not reduce your room.

Those are exactly mine, I personally rate them over hyped overvalued smartcentre. Smartcentre and nexus lot of hype bcs of essential customer but people don’t buy them for long term lol.
