    Hey Chris I just found your channel and I'm a new subscriber. I have a question. Since I only have a RRSP and a TFSA, and this list are all Canadian ETFs, do you suggest using the TFSA if I want to invest in these ETFs? I am trying to avoid the WHT. What if I wanted to invest in VFV? Should I open up a Weathsimple Trade account for that? Or will I incur WHT if I use my RRSP/TFSA? Thanks I've learned so much from you already!

      Great questions. The WHT is only for the TFSA, you won't incur it in your RRSP. It's a weird rule, but that's how it is, so if you're concerned about WHT invest your international and US stocks in the RRSP.
      I personally still hold U.S investments in my TFSA as I think the benefits outweigh the WHT (remember, WHT is 15% of the dividends, not total gains so it's not too bad)
      Sure, Wealthsimple Trade is good for VFV, the buy's and sell's will be free with no foreign exchange fee since it's traded on the TSX. You can get $10 if you signup with them here: wealthawesome.com/recommends/wealthsimple-trade

    Hi Chris! I am new in Investing and I am using Wealthsimple. I was thinking to invest in canadian ETFs. What would you suggest? Do I need to pay something? I am planning to invest long term. Please help :)

      I would look into all-in-one ETFs if you're just starting out, check out this article: wealthawesome.com/best-all-in-one-etf-canada/

    Can you please compare the performance of Canadian ETFs to US ETFs? I always get buyers remorse when I buy Canadian etfs because I think they consistently underperform compared to their US counterpart. Probably because, the US market usually outperforms the Canadian market.

      In the past, U.S stock market has consistently outperformed Canada's. Just search the annual returns on the S&P500 vs the TSX60 and you'll see the big differences.

    Would you put such dividend ETF in a TFSA or RRSP ? Kind regards

    • @WealthAwesome
      @WealthAwesome  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's probably more effective in a RRSP if you had to choose just 1, because the TFSA has a dividend witholding tax on foreign dividends.

    But what metrics make up a good Dividend paying etf? /or stock in general

    • @WealthAwesome
      @WealthAwesome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the dividend payouts they are making is supported by solid business fundamentals (ex. profits, cash, growth outlook) then it's a good start!
