    I am impressed with your knowledge and delivery of information. Thank you for sharing your savvy insights. Question though: Is it wise to hold ETF's in registered accounts like RRSPs and TFSA's from a dividend tax perspective? Is it not advisable to hold ETF's in non registered accounts where tax offsets are possible? (I'm speaking about American ETF's where withholding tax is an issue.)

    • @WealthAwesome
      @WealthAwesome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have room in your registered accounts, it's probably best to put it in those. The 15% dividend witholding tax isn't as bad as it sounds, as it's only on your dividend portion.

    Amazing video, but now I am so confused lol I am sticking to VFV with my TFSA for now and will have to research.

    • @WealthAwesome
      @WealthAwesome  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      VFV is a American equity etf while these portfolios are more global and include Canada. Many also include fixed income that auto rebalances. It depends on what your risk tolerance is and goals are.

    Does it make sense to buy a mix these ETFs from different companies, say VGRO and XGRO?

    • @WealthAwesome
      @WealthAwesome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Ernesto, not really. These portfolios are meant to be an all-in-one solution per account, because of the rebalancing features. It could make sense though if you say buy VGRO for your TFSA, and XGRO for your RRSP.

      Hey Paul good catch, my mistake. I must have copied it over from my blog post wrong and didn't catch the mistake. I will make a note of the mistake in the description, thanks for pointing this out. See the blog post here: wealthawesome.com/best-all-in-one-etf-canada/

      @@WealthAwesome you made me think I was holding 60% bonds for a second. Its already confusing enough without the spread of misinformation. With all due respect I won't be going to your website for financial advice... the comment below where Mehroz is considering adding xqq to his xeqt position I don't think thats necessarily a bad idea nor does it defeat the purpose of an all in one etf.

      @@WealthAwesome I’m new to investing, I have 30k in my Questrade TFSA account looking to invest in 100% VEQT. So all I have to do is buy as many shares I can with my 30k and that’s it? Besides logging in to buy more shares every month for 30+ years, I don’t need to do anything else on my Questrade account? Can I set it and forget it?

    • @ericy8315

      @@asdasd-lq2hd Yes,you do exactly that. I just bought 30k also in my Wealth Simple account. I am new to investing as well and from my research into ETF, just buy as much shares as you can with the 30k and just leave it for many years. I bought XEQT instead and will invest $200/month also until retirement.

      Yeah but their MER on Fidelity ones are ridiculously high, about double of what iShares is.

    Im currently in XEQT and was wondering if making a swap to HGRO would be worth it. My portfolio total is below 10k. I was thinking since XEQT doesn't have a Nasdaq specific etf inside of it, it might be better to add in an etf like XQQ but later I realized wouldn't it be better just to have something like HGRO ?

    • @WealthAwesome
      @WealthAwesome  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      HGRO is more American weighted definently than XEQT. It also has a different structure than the XEQT, as it uses total return swaps and doesn't actually hold any stocks. In this case, it's really a preference call for yourself, on what you want to be more invested in. Adding in an extra equity ETF like XQQ to XEQT isn't usually a good idea though, as it kind of defeats the purpose of these All-In-One ETF portfolios and you would have to rebalance your portfolio.

    • @paulirvine9870
      @paulirvine9870 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking of adding a small xqq position as well. This guy doesn't even realise xeqt is 100% equity so I would be cautious taking his advice lol..
