Hey man, you need to tune the shock pistons, then shock oil if you're bottoming out. Shock springs aren't the problem. Without tuning those first, and if you're just swapping to heavier springs, the car will actually have traction issues and bounce more. You can tell right away that your XRT isn't loading up on the ramp but instead it's too stiff, therefore you're missing traction on the jumps. Same with the landings - it's bouncing bro.
I don't doubt that my shock tuning isn't perfect. I don't really get into it too much as I'm just not that picky. I am using the M2C pistons though and they seem to work pretty well. The problem really wasn't bottoming out as with really big jumps all vehicles are going to bottom out. My problem was that it was bottoming out easily on small jumps just because the stock springs were getting overwhelmed by how much heavier the car is I am also running shock fluid that is twice as thick as stock so that will help somewhat. Again though I'm certainly no expert on suspension tuning. I'm actually pretty happy with how this is set up and honestly probably won't mess with it :-)
AWESOME BASH and kILLER info!, I definitely learned something new today!!!! Thanks! You're absolutely right! Most parts can handle perfect landings, Top quality parts can handle almost anything!!! thanks for punishing the parts!!!
It's always best to clean the mating surfaces if you use glue or tape. A quick wipe with isopropyl alcohol will allow the tape's adhesives to work to its maximum potential.
Great video,my xrt has most vitavon parts as well as m2c parts so its heavy and the vitavon springs work great.i run 46 spur snd 32 pinion by gds gears which ihave had great luck with these gears since last summer with no heat problems.keep up the good videos really enjoy them all.
I'm also happy with the vitavan Springs. I wasn't super sure about them when I first put them on as they didn't really feel any stiffer but the proofs in the pudding and this thing lands jumps like butter.
Great video 👍 love it when you show that flipping crashes. I’ve always known you do that for our benefit. You’ve got too much rc knowledge to crash that bad accidentally 👍
Well I do crash badly on accident often enough as well. I'm frequently trying to push the limit and when you do that it leads to crashes. That being said I can land on my wheels if I want to :-)
hi do rc, question in the differentials of this xrt that you use, in the differentials do you mount the spiral shear couplings of the vitavon mod1.6, did you also put in some shims?
I've tried but the way the pinion gear is clipped onto the bearing It doesn't really give you much room for shimming. You can try shimming the differential itself but in my experience they're usually already pretty tight in the housing.
@@gianmarcopattarello6016 ehh. I kind of always have problems with the x platform differentials. Honestly the best setup I have found are properly shimmed stock differential gears with aluminum differential housings and aluminum differential covers. They don't really last any longer than aftermarket gears but they don't really seem to last any less time either and they're a heck of a lot cheaper to replace when they fail.
@@DoRC I mounted the one from Vitavon mod 1.6 after less than 5 minutes or I ate my teeth a nervous after spending 180 euros, and I had them sent back to me by Vitavon paying only the shipping only that I'm afraid of reassembling them
Have you checked out GPMs mod 1.5 that eliminates the Cush drive? It’s basically the same setup vitavon used on theirs but MUCH cheaper. I just installed one on mine but ran into pinion gear issues as it’s listed a bit confusingly. Thought I bought a 8mm pinion but got a 5mm, so I might have to run my somewhat damaged 13t for the moment if my lhs doesn’t have a replacement.
I didn't know GPM had one but personally I don't like eliminating the Kush drive. It adds some compliance to the system which really helps save your gears and drivetrain from shock loads. The Kush drive rubber does need to be replaced from time to time but I don't really mind doing that.
@@DoRC I was in the same boat but after 2 exploded spurs, 2 destroyed Cush drive housings and 5 destroyed mod 1.5 pinions, it’s time to try something different. I won’t be using earplugs so I should be fine. Definitely wouldn’t recommend doing so with earplugs.

I purchased the hobbywing Max 5 G2 with the 1100 G2.. fortunately you do not have to go through any of that to use that system. The downside is the can is the same size as the 800 KV.. so you really do need a rear brace on the motor and that takes up a lot of space. And you use the GMP ESC mount that goes in place of the radio box top... Other than that, I believe it was an easier setup than you had to go through. WFO 35/30 gearing mod 1.5
Yep. If you properly prep the surface by cleaning them both with rubbing alcohol and use genuine VHB as well as give it 24 hours to set up after adhering it double side tape actually works very well. Most of the time when people have problems with double sided tape it's that they either don't prep the surface, use cheap tape or don't give it time to set up before using it.
