Composing Music, Composing Life - Sarita Mishra on Life as a Female Tabla Player

Despite being born in an age where women were expected to manage households and prepare dishes adapted to varied tastebuds, Sarita Mishra’s passion lay elsewhere.
She would rather prepare compositions instead of food; smack a tabla instead of swivelling a spatula; and train young women instead of following conventional societal norms.
By no means a pacifist, Sarita’s life has been peppered with several highs, notably among those being opportunities to collaborate with artists around the world and have her name etched in Nepal’s history books.
But where there are highs, there are also lows. And Sarita’s journey has been no different.
