    Found another vid a few days ago where they used teflon plumbers tape to wrap around the poly bushing before greasing and pressing. This supposedly stops/prevents any type of future squeaking/noise from the bushing. Might be something you want to look into, either way thanks for the video. Very helpful for me in 2019!

    The proper way to do the transverse link rear mounts, (AKA how to get them torqued because a torque wrench won't fit in the space where the nut is when the link is on the car), is to mark the mounts before removal from the transverse link, (I used a straight edge to make a mark on them in line with the black mount on the transverse link), then when you put it back together you then line the marks up again and then torque the rear nut to the correct torque while keeping it lined up. Then you install the transverse link onto the car. The mount to body bolts should also then be torqued to 250nm with the vehicle at curb weight.

    • @TheDutchGarage
      @TheDutchGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a chance that some other thing starts creaking be course of the stiffer bushings. The way of least resistance. Be sure to check things like top mounts of your struts and other suspension components.

    Have tried plenty of lube but they just wont go and have left the original shells in place as instructed, thinking of using a bolt to draw them through, anyone have any ideas?

    • @harman1967
      @harman1967 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya, it's the front bush on the lower wishbone ( rear subframe ). Had a similar problem on the front subframe but was able to insert the bush at an angle thus reducing the bulging effect, it then popped in no problem.
      The bulging seems to be the problem, as you apply pressure to the bush it swells sideways thus requiring even more effort to push through bracket.
      This latest one is a bit frustrating

    • @TheDutchGarage
      @TheDutchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes thats indeed a big issue with the softer poly or rubber bussings. What i do in most cases i put a big hose clamp around the part that bulges. then push it in and remove the clamp or place it a bit higher and push it furter. But be carefull you dont chew up the bushing. i use a old inner tube between the bushing and clamp for protection. Also be sure that the bore is as smooth as you can get it.

    • @harman1967
      @harman1967 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey good news, I have managed to fit the poly bushes, my technique is to install them at an approx. 45 degree angle in a hand operated press, by carefully applying pressure and supporting both bracket and bush to a point where the distortion allows the bush to collapse inside the bracket, at this point the bush pops into place and requires just a further push to drive home. Thanks for your help Dutch Garage : )
