Thank you SO much. Your directions were so clear and concise, especially the proper Copic stitch. I have made several watercolor sketchbooks now since finding your videos.
Wonderful tutorial! I really appreciate how you showed us on the plain paper with red thread first. Made it so clear! I love your artwork in your sketchbook, and hope you will be back doing your classes on the cruise ships very soon.🚢🎨
Wow! I love that little paper template with markings and how in detail you've explained this video. You have made it so easy and understandable. Thankyou :)
You sound like such a nice lady! Thank you for your presentation. I have written and bound my own books over the years but it's nice to see how others do their thing. I am looking forward to seeing what else you have on your channel. Thanks again.
What a lovely teacher . Your beautiful voice is like birds singing out side my studio. Then, the way you started off was incredibly helpful. You thought of everything including the use of red thread. The actual lesson of the sketchbook was brilliant. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to learn something new. You made it pleasant and fun, THANK YOU KINDLY.
Gold is always more precious when you stumble over it by accident. I wasn't looking for this, but so glad I found it. I didn't realise this is exactly what I needed. Bookmarked, liked and subscribed. Best wishes from Scotland. 🏴 🇬🇧
Di, thank you! This is such a great video. I have only ever made little stitched sketchbooks with one signature. I love this method you showed us with more. I am definitely going to make myself one, and look forward to seeing how you make the cover. A lovely idea for gifts too! ❤️
Many thanks for your comprehensive instructions: very helpful. I did a slight variation on your method: I used my sewing machine to stitch the signatures together as I had seen this method used in professional book binding. Stitching the signatures together helped stop them slipping.
I want to do a sketchbook of mine , but can I paint on both sides of the paper ? Like you did . Because what I know of is that you can only paint with watercolor on one side not two sides
Hi Desiree, I recommend you get yourself artist quality paints, either Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith or equivalent. I paint with a very limited palette, you can mix all manner of colours with a red, yellow and blue (Permanent Carmine, Aureolin and French Ultramarine so you don’t need to buy many at the beginning. Cheaper paints can be so disappointing with their lack of depth of colour. Have a look at my video featuring materials.
Great tutorial! Now I'm inspired to sew a whole bunch of watercolour joirnals 😅❤
