Here for part two. Thank you so much. Plus I appreciate that you showed us that even the most brilliant teacher might have a small issue. You are a lovely teacher in sketchbook content and execution.

Thank you - very helpful! If you want a sturdier hinge, leave the scrim and glue it between the end paper and the inside cover.

I've tried making some in the past but didn't end up looking as neat as yours. But you do some details that are new to me. I am definitely going to give it a go following your instructions! Thank you Dianne !

I loved watching you do this Dianne!!! You were so thorough in explaining the process and I can't wait to try this. They are both beautiful. How were you going to cover your new book with the dried flowers? I know you mentioned plastic, but how did you do that? I'm gathering my materials and I'll give it a go! Thanks so much for such a wonderful tutorial. I hope your trip was delightful and you painted treasured memories to hold dear to your heart in your home-made sketchbook! 😊

Hi Liana, I am so glad you enjoyed my tutorial and I hope you make a beautiful sketchbook. I covered my book with cartridge paper so that I could create an arrangement of dried flowers which can be pasted onto the paper. I have a thick plastic cover that is used to cover library books and just pop it onto the book afterwards - it stays in place as the folds are permanent and can easily be removed if necessary.

The use of a brayer will help smooth out the air bubbles when gluing and using a thicker paper like card stock on the inside and outside of the book. Will you show how you added your painting to the front?

Thanks for your tips regarding the brayer and thicker paper. I am planning to show adding a painting to the cover soon.

Hello! First let me tell you how very helpful your tutorials are! You are such a wonderful instructor! I found your TH-cam site about two weeks ago, but I've already been through all your videos, and am eager for more! I will be watching often and hope you'll continue this type of instruction. I did have a question about the first video your uploaded - about watercolour materials, including paints! You showed a swatch chart you had made of your colors, as well as listing them in the notes. Are all these colors transparent? I am quickly learning the importance of having the most transparent paints, and as I begin to replace my "old" colors, I want to be sure in invest in, not only good quality paints, but the most transparent I can purchase. Any comments will be appreciated - and thank you so much for your wonderful instruction!

Hi Robin, I am so glad you are finding my videos helpful! Thank you for taking the time to give me such wonderful feedback. Happy painting!

With regard to transparency, some of the paints are slightly more transparent than others but if you use them diluted in glazes, these ones are transparent. I avoid the cadmiums which are definitely not transparent.
