Really like this - just one thing people may not think of: make sure your hands are scrupulously clean while handling all the materials, and especially the paper.
I’ve been planning to make my own sketchbook, and now I know which technique I am going to try first. Thanks so much for sharing your process! 🙏 You made this seem doable for novices like me.
a lot of work , but a very beautiful result . Nice done !!! If I wil make one , I wil give him a back too . Maybe from different layers of an old newspaper of other materials . I wil see , thank you for this good inspiration .
I'm definitely gonna do this soon, I already feel like a sketchbook is something very personal but then make it yourself makes more yours than just buy one 😍😍 great video!!
You will need the glue, it won't last otherwise. Since its a sketchbook that you will open many times and use often you want to hold together properly. :)
Instead of paying for pads or blocks of arches, it’s cheaper to cut it down yourself. I wouldn’t think of it as brave but you do have to plan the size you want. Even if you don’t want to make a book, unless you want to paint full size which is huge, you can cut the paper to various sizes so you can work smaller. For instance, one sheet can give you 4 11x15” sheets .
Not everyone paints huge and it’s cheaper to buy the big pads to cut down to the sizes you prefer. It’s definitely not brave… it’s very common actually. So weird that you think it’s a problem. It’s just paper.
You are using THE best paper for the notebook. I watched another video and they used Canson paper which is second grade paper with no cotton in it. I love yours. Nice job. But the music is very distracting from hearing what you are saying. I couldnt hear some of what you said.

Really nice ✨
Great video, thanks a lot!
Beautiful job! 📙👌
Is the glue totally necessary? Doesn't sewing the pages together hold it enough? Sorry if this is a dumb question

What kind of threads you were using? The music was very loud
I have never seen anyone cut down Arches paper before bec it is so so expensive. 😳 that’s mighty brave of you!
I was thinking that too but then thought it would be easy to make tags, book marker, etc

Worst video on the subject ever, and the music doesn’t help!

So good!!! I love it!
Thank you!
The music you used is amazing, anyone know what it's called?
I've been looking for it myself, so good.

Loves this video but the music was just too loud for me and then when you speaking it's so quietly. But either way it's gorgeous. Ha e a great day

Why do you think that music is a bonus?😮 it’s. aggravating 😡
Hi, do you know if the water used when painting can ruin the glued zone? By the way, I love the result!
The glue is water resistant if not water proof, besides you likely won’t be soaking the pages of a sketchbook even if doing wet on wet.
Way to much work.
