I had same starting problem with my 2006, I stumbled upon this video checking to see a video to replaced the starter thinking that was the problem. I purchased the 4 gauge cable and it started right away as of right it's working thanks for the video save me $$$$$ will comment back if I notice any changes
Wow! Thank you sooooo very much for this video. My Pacifica did the exact same thing as yours did. Wouldn't start after I swapped out the front motor mount (pain in the arse) I went to AutoZone, bought the exact same cable it was $6.18, threw it in the car and it fired right up!

Thanks dude. was the problem with ours. the dude put new battery in, wouldn't do anything. so today just ran jumper cables both leads from the negative on battery to a good ground on the motor, bam , started right up. sometimes it's the simplest of things. thanks a million

This definitely worked on my 03 Chrysler Pacifica...took the battery out and took it to autozone to test it and the battery was good....went and bought the 4 cauge cable and installed it annd it worked....thank you man!!!
****MORE INFO***** My 2007 pacifica would crank once but not start. I spent 9 bucks got the 4 Guage 1 meter long cable(was about 12 inches too long but works) and 15 mins later it starts perfectly. Very helpful.

I'm going to try tomorrow. It started out with me having to get a jump every now and then. Then it quit at work. My coworker tried to jump and nothing. Then he opened fuse box under hood. Removed starter relay and plugged it back in. Told me to try and start again. It started but I had to hold the key in start. I was scared to turn off my car. Did my errands never turned car off. Got home turned car off, it wouldn't start back up. Definitely trying tomorrow. Everything is working lights ...etc but no turnover. I'll let you know results. THANKS

I bought a new battery and this is my next option to buying a battery cable and trying this. I love my pacifica and this is my only problem so far. I pray and hope this is my only solution to getting my car started.
No crank ' no start just relays clicking; ASD , fuel pump and theft red light ... stumbled on to this video and tried it with two jumper cables from the transmission all the way to where the battery is at (trunk) (ground to ground) and it turned on. Chrysler 300 2007. Not sure what to do next should I find all grounds or add more grounds from the engine to trans? Battery to trans is a long way lol^ thanks for sharing^
I had the same no start issues, in my case I was getting an invalid key and fob notification and after a few days of banging my head on the steering wheel because nothing worked for me I said let me change the key battery even though the keyless entry and panic worked I thought the battery wasn't strong enough to talk to the car. I open the key and the battery, battery holder and PCB board falls into my hand. so I put the battery holder and battery back on the PCB and hold it together with my finger try and start the car and it started right up. the battery bracket got loose after dropping my keys and battery wasn't making contact inside the key fob.
Thanks for the insight, but i had to change starter. I think the starter was original starter that came with vehicle. As a back up though, thanks to you, i installed extra ground wire jus in case the negative post should go out.
Great idea. The problem with my 2004 is that the battery tray won't come out. I removed the three bolts from the tray and it's still unremovable. If you would upload a video that shows exactly what you did to remove the tray, that would be great.
Check to make sure its in park if this happens. My wife did this. I tried this ground cable trick no luck. Scheduled it to be towed to a local garage. Wife calls today before the garage tow and says...it wasn't in park.
Unfortunately this was not my problem. ;( The starter!!! I have to take the fans off or take it off from underneath. Not sure how to go about doing this because this is my first attempt to work on my car! My hubby is a truck driver and I feel it's time to learn!
So, figuring it was a corrosion issue I sprayed CRC into the negative terminal crimp and then put a small amount of motor oil on the crimp to soak in and now the motor starts every time!
Has any of had problems with the ASD fuse blowing at every attempt starting? I did this methid last month and starting was flawless. Now its doing it again. Its the p685 trouble code. Cranks fine, all grounds have been checked. I am so lost right now and cant get a hold of any wiring diagrams..

been scratching my head with a pacifica. Came to my shop with a crank but no start issue. couldnt hear the fuel pump so i went and powered it through the relay with a power probe and heard nothing. since found out this test didnt make sense due to a check valve in the line that i wasnt aware of, but unhooked the fuel line to see if i was getting fuel and the pump was simply quiet. obviously no fuel so called it a fuel pump problem. replaced the pump, now i hear it clear as day but it still wont start. okay, i was hasty with diag i suppose, so i went to check for spark by pulling a coil and cranking. we had a spark (grounded to the throttle body) but it instantly stopped cranking after that. new codes come up on scanner. evap purge solonoid has a short, and asd relay fault (p0688). I look into 688, found signal couldnt make it to the pcm (after relay). notice a rodents nest but cant find bare wire, jump the connection from pcm to fuse box and now i get that connection. relay back in, same problems still. at this point, as far as i understand it anyway, alldata wants me to condem the computer. i dont believe it though so i found the video explaining ground issues and grounded the battery to an existing ground bolted directly to the valve cover figuring tranny and engine are mated so its the same idea and will work for testing. still nothing changes. i believe these 2 issues to be unrelated but jesus god i just want to fix it. the car belongs to my uncle and i hate to disappoint.

It didn’t start. So I took out the ignition and check the actuator and it wasn’t broken. So my question is? Where to attach the 4 gauge?
Dustin Avery , I did tell my husband that the videos about this problem. Says it should be mounted on the negative side and to the transmission side. Nope he did it his way. Nothing, so he’s thinking starter or alternator

My 2004 Pacifica lost power on the freeway. I was doing about 70 and it started slowing down I tried to push on the accelerator but it continued to die I was able to get to the right where it finally died. I could not get it started. Had it towed home. My husband went and had the battery checked. it was fine. when we try to start it just spins. it doesn't crank it just spins. we tried replacing the ASD relay. That didn't work. tested the fuel pump relay it tested good. We listened for the fuel pump when we turn the key and and can hear it make it's little noise. Can you give us ideas to figure out the problem.
PassionFlower X, it was the timing belt shredded. car still doesn't start though. praying it didn't destroy engine. someone told us this morning something else to check. oh I'm asking God's favor and that that is whats wrong.
reply to Andre Vann, well we ordered a part to make sure the new timing belt is lined up right. my husband was trying to do it by hand for about 3 weeks. but couldn't after ripping up his fingers several times. so we ordered the guide and his plan of it doesn't rain Saturday is to do it. I'll let you know if it worked.
My issue was the alternator. Put a new one on and it runs great. That was a few months back, now the next has broken on the radiator and I have to get a new one. $500 Smh.
I think i have the same problem. I tried to start my car, and it started but then cut off. when started a second time, nothing happened. nothing lit up, replaced battery week ago,and the battery is fine, but nothing on inside of car would turn on. had another car charge battery after a while, and windows worked, radio lights up, but no lights on dash and radio has no sound. my key fob didn't work which made me recognize problem. after mechanic looking at it, think there is a problem like this or the ground wire, but am not sure due to different symptoms. need to know if symptoms are possible with bad ground wire.
there could be these symptoms with the cable not being strong enough. its worth a try imo due to it being a cheap solution. (hopefully.) let me knownif it wo4ks!!
this is why I no longer buy from chrysler nothing but problems, motor, transmission, power what ever maybe!! have a friend that has a brand new chrysler pacifica and he is already having trouble with the transmission and some power windows lol get yourself a kia at least they care and help

Yes it did. I connected the ground to the transmission side cover. Took about 15 minutes.

Wow same troubles on our 2007 Pac. Intermittent starter problems Dealer erroneously replaced ign. Switch $$$ wasted. I gather Chryslers "trained" mechanics don't know about a simple and cheap fix. Thanks much!

Where did you buy the battery cable from? Did you have to alter it in anyway? I'm a novice mechanic but my wife's Pacifica is having the same issues.
+Jared Davis i bought it at Oriellys auto parts store. Auto zone will have it too. There is nothing extra you need to do to the cable. Just attach it.

Not hard at all. Just used a socket with an extension.

Cheryl Kinman did you get it fix my car did the same and on these Pacifica s with the 3.5 motor they claim timing belt failed can damage motor .

Did this and the car starts up now. However, now thr battery is constanly dying. Always needing a jump to get the car started.

possibly the starter. but make sure you have the negative terminal connected to something that will allow current.

I think i have the same problem. I tried to start my car, and it started but then cut off. when started a second time, nothing happened. nothing lit up, replaced battery week ago,and the battery is fine, but nothing on inside of car would turn on. had another car charge battery after a while, and windows worked, radio lights up, but no lights on dash and radio has no sound. my key fob didn't work which made me recognize problem. after mechanic looking at it, think there is a problem like this or the ground wire, but am not sure due to different symptoms. need to know if symptoms are possible with bad ground wire.
there could be these symptoms with the cable not being strong enough. its worth a try imo due to it being a cheap solution. (hopefully.) let me knownif it wo4ks!!

this is why I no longer buy from chrysler nothing but problems, motor, transmission, power what ever maybe!! have a friend that has a brand new chrysler pacifica and he is already having trouble with the transmission and some power windows lol get yourself a kia at least they care and help
