Good and informative video! Was your ignition switch dash mounted or steering column mounted? I'm having a no start issue also and noticed that there is no spring resistance when turning key to start position, it just stays in the start position and doesn't return to the run position...
I have a 2005 Pacifica and I can drive for like 45mins or longer... and let's say run in to lowes for 10- 15mins and come out and it will turn over like the rpms will only go up a lil... then cut off... if I keep trying so.etimes the starter will grind... if I wait like 20 30mins most of the time she will start right up... but I can smell something like bad gas... hope you can help
before you noticed this issue, did the car start at all. My 06 pacifica starts but has an issue with its hot. plus I have to push the key in and then turn a few time and then it will start. Just looking for some advice on this.
I watch this video and showing off same thing happened to me my wife turn the key it had no resistance I said somethings wrong with the ignition I found this video I took my nation apart took me about 20 minutes be careful take your time remember what you did and sure enough mine was broken and this video save me a crap load of money because for $30 on eBay my car is going to be fixed so thank you great video
Had a code replace crankshaft and camshaft position sensor n when u drive bout 20 25 it bulkes then continues what could it be 05 chrysler pacifica thanks
ok so this may or may not help but i can't turn the key to the start position and i can't fully turn it to the off position. I can remove my key but my battery completely drains after i take the key out which means that its still on. If i try to start the key it stops at the run position and never turns over. What do u think my problem could be?
Great video and you are right about the ground wire! I did that about a year ago and solved my problem... but now I am really stuck and hoping you could offer some suggestions my way. I have a 2007 4.0L Without warnings, about two weeks ago the car will not start, the engine will just turn and turn. This is what I did so far: Checked fuel pump fuse and it was ok. The relay for the fuel pump is the same for other things, so I just switched a couple of times and tried. Two weeks ago I remember not hearing the fuel pump "buzz" when turning the key, so since the fuse /relay were OK I concluded that the fuel pump was bad, so I replaced the fuel pump. The "buzz" of the fuel pump is certainly back, and now the engine will turn, quickly start but go right off (So the engine is on for about a second) so it seems that the problem is different now. I tried just turning the key to the one position for 2 seconds, back to off for a dozen times or so and try then to start the car without success. I am now wondering if my prognosis of a bad fuel pump was correct... What else could be causing the problem? Any suggestions would be amazing because I need to get this car back to work!
Steven if you have access to a scanner, check the live data and make sure the pcm didn’t disable the fuel pump. Had that happen on an F250 I worked on, replaced the fuel pump and in live data it said that fuel was disabled during cranking and it would want to start but would die almost immediately. One other thing I would try is take off the 02 sensors before the Catalytic converter and see if it makes a difference or doesn’t die on you. If that’s the case you may have a clogged cat

Elias Cabrera sólo desarmando el switch donde va la llave porque esa pieza está adentro. Con esta troca lo que pasaba era que entraba la llave y al darle vuelta no pasaba nada, no prendía el tablero ni arrancaba

Was it cranking at all before this? I have an 06 died while driving. Crank but no start replaced sensors and pcm, still crank but no start
I would check to see if you have enough fuel pressure and also check the crankshaft sensor with a scan tool
I have this same issue. I replaced crankshaft and camshaft sensors. Still cranks with no start. Im headed for the fuel pump next.

Stefvon Alred sounds like your ignition switch is jammed. I would start there since it's physically not letting you turn the key

What is the name of the broken part? Is it part of an assembly?
Jessica Alston I think it was called the ignition actuator and it's a piece the goes with the ignition assembly
you need to take off that black switch and put the cylinder in first and then connect that black clip after

Cpencer Benson no it didn’t crank or make a sound. This one didn’t have any codes either.
