This worked, and it was not difficult. I thought it wasn't going to work, and that the starter needed replacement, but for $20 and my labor why not try. Bought the 32 inch 4 guage cable, with a kit to spray off oil while also cleaning connections. Thanks.
what kind of starting problem did you have? what kind of symptoms? My 2005 Pacifica will just click one time with each turn of the key. And sometimes it will start. I have checked all my grounds and they were not corroded. I cleaned them anyways for good measure. I am wondering if your symptoms were the same as mine. I have used jumper cables to create temporary new ground from battery to the exact engine ground you used in the video. And it made no difference.
I fixed it! But it wasn’t the cables. I checked resistance of all the ground cables and they were all good. I ruled out the starter relay. And the battery was just replaced last year and was keeping a steady 12.3 volts with no load. I was fairly certain that the anti-theft was okay. So I removed the starter and took it into the auto parts store to be tested. It failed! The same loud click was made when the solenoid was actuated and the armature was extended. But the starter would not turn. Replaced it and now it starts fine every time.
What could be the problem if it does not start unless its jumped. Ive replaced battery an alternator an it wont start unless its plugged to another car.

Question does the positive wire get hot before u did the new grounding I changed my alternator sometimes the battery dies down or won't start
