Be careful on the knife holder. Wooden holders need upkeep in order to keep the nasty bacteria away. The nasties live in there. Stay healthy! Great vid, GL on the remodeling!
I find new kitchen things far too exciting! To the point i'm kind of bummed the pans I bought a good 5 years ago are such good quality they still look and use as new, heh.
The part where Tim said he didn't want to bring the outside fridge in because of stairs made me laugh so much. I love your little homey videos, they're just as much fun as the parks ones 🙂

nice that you had a spare refrigerator in the meantime. same here...we have a backup fridge in our garage from our old house. i put the magnets on there now.

I agree a magnetized wall in your kitchen would be great. I believe they have chalk board paint that can do that. That way if you want to write a note to each other during the day you can and also store your magnets.
The magnets won't stick to the stainless steel front, but they will still stick to the side of the refrigerator. So If you have any open space where the side of the fridge is showing you can stick some there. I had the same problem when I bought my stainless fridge.
I love how you guys stay positive and make jokes even when things go wrong, it's so refreshing! #dontsweatthesmallstuff (except when lifting refrigerators)
Will you guys ever do or have you already done a house tour? I can't wait to see the rest of the bathroom remodel. It would be super cool if you had a time lapse from start to finish on that.

By the way, I have that EXACT same Baker's Rack in my kitchen. I love it - especially the little wine rack along the bottom. :-)
Depends on the grade of stainless steel and the make of the fridge if magnets will work. Some stainless steel fridges have a stainless steel skin over a metal reinforced frame. Some stainless steel is more magnetic than others depending on the manufacturing process. Magnets may or may not work. Good luck you guys.
The sides of stainless steel refrigerators are usually magnetic, I put up important documents all on the side of my fridge.

Do you guys ever use the Target cartwheel app? I always check it see if they are offering any discounts before I go to the store. It's not a big discount but every little bit helps.
Wait... Stainless steel can have magnets on it. Mine always did growing up.
KitchenAid knives! Great choice. I love my kitchenAid block set. Just remember to HAND WASH them and occassionally use your sharpener. Jenn, you will love using your kitchen shears. I have two - one for meats and one for everything else. Just be aware that your stainless steel fridge may be a fingerprint monster. As in - shows every print everytime you happen to touch it.
You should totally do something to showcase all your fun magnets.

I do believe with stainless steel, you can use magnets, but I would want it clean and not a lot of magnets on it (nothing wrong with having magnets on it, but sometimes you want something different). I was going to suggest putting up a metal frame and putting the magnets on it, but the border idea is cool too!!

You can get a fridge that is stainless steel looking but can have magnets attached to it because that's what we have in our house in order to keep our magnets but have the fridge match the rest of the appliances. I think whirlpool is the only brand that makes that kind of fridge but i'm not sure

In regards to refrigerators, you can't go on cubic feet alone. You could have two different fridges with the same cubic feet dimensions but sized differently. That's because each manufacturer uses the space differently. Storage space (crisper drawers, shelves, etc.) vary depending on what brand it is and how much of that is usable space. One way is to take the measurements of how much room you have and find which brand gives you the most cubic feet for that size.
Calphalon is a great, solid brand for cookware. If you can, however, try to shy away from Simply Calphalon and go for Calphalon Classic. It's much more durable, as I've had Simply Calphalon pots that have oxidized on me, where Calphalon classic never does. Cuisinart and All-Clad are also two really great brands (especially All-Clad).
Some of the best knife brands are: Wusthof Classic Ikon, Henckels, Shun & MAC.

I got one of those combi microwaves where it can be used as a microwave, or a grill or a proper convention oven. I cooked a roast in it one Christmas as I had roast beef, roast lamb and roast pork. Never again. because it had an ordinary microwave door, it felt as if any moment it would just melt. Meat was delicious, but took an age for microwave to cool down.
Oh no. I'm going to Island of Adventures on Tuesday and I have hope that my daughter and I see you and Jenn there. Fingers crossed.

Did you get one of the LGs you showed in the vlog? We have the same one, 27 cubic feet and we love it. Also, the side is magnetic.

the 28cuf seemed to have an ice maker inside the "firidge" but the 24cuf didn't have the ice maker visible. so idk. could be a matter of how deep they are? the size of the freezer unit? door spaces?
Dude! I feel you guys. My fridge/freezer when kaput earlier this year. It died in two stages..first the freezer, then the fridge. Then had to use a mini fridge for two weeks until they delivered the new one. The whoas of home ownership. #adultingishard
We bought a 4 x 8 ft. piece of 20 gauge galvanized metal and put it on the wall. It matches the stainless steel of everything else in the kitchen. With that, we can place magnets, pictures, and all sorts of things.
We went to universal yesterday afternoon bc we FINALLY got passes!! Was a little rainy but not for long
Depending on what refrigerator you got, you may be able to put the magnets on the sides! My sister has A stainless steel front one, like the one you were looking at and they put their magnets on the sides!
Oh no!! Refrigerator is broke? Hope all the food is not wasted...I had to buy a new dishwasher and I hated doing it!!! Didn't like the water all over the floor so it was sorta a necessity. My granddaughter and I love Red Robin....I always seem to get the Whiskey River burger...love it! I get it though with glutton free buns as I can't have the seeds! Tim, your burger looks sooo good!!!
You can tell who hasn't been living in Florida for very long by their reaction to what's coming in that Tropical Depression. Native Floridians are looking at it and saying, "Oh, just a depression? It's fine."
Tropical Depressions are just rainy weekends for us.

Jenn with stainless steal pots and pans they are not non stick even if the package says they are and they seem to discolor if you don't boil distilled vinegar in them after washing just FYI
I know home-ownership has its downsides, and one is exactly this. I had nice appliances in my last rental. I think the stove is new, and I know the dishwasher was put in for us, but I stared longingly at the appliances at Best Buy the other day. :) Oh and consider a whetstone to keep your new knives sharp.
What about putting your magnets on your washer or dryer? I think that's a new trend. Love your videos!!!

Hey! We had the same issue with magnets and you can actually get a magnet board! We have one and it looks cute hung up on the wall. Check Walmart or Amazon

Is your fridge not running at all or just not keeping cold? If it's still running, you might want to check if there is too much dust underneath. You'd be surprised how easily this can happen!

I know how you guys feel. My Refrigerator broke almost at midnight last week and I couldn't do anything about it because it was so late at night. Next day I was able to call a repairman and he told me what to do over the phone. It was just a small part that needed to be replaced. Good Luck with your new one. :)

My fridge died about 4 months after I moved into my house. Luckily you had a spare. I lost everything in the fridge. The weird part the freezer was working still or had so much Ice buildup I didn't loose my frozen food.

I said it once and i'm gonna say it again you guys need to try and grind your own ground beef from steaks . Best burgers you will ever eat I use ribeye and sirloin 50/50 mix . you guys are great keep it going .

Kitchen grade stainless is magnetic so your magnets should still work on the new fridge. Good luck.
That's what happens to me whenever something breaks and I have to make a big purchase. I end up buying ALL THE THINGS! Even if I don't "need" them.
Get a BIG White Board. that you can hang some place. might be magnetic. Nice on the knives. now you need a Knife sharpener. Nice Microwave. You should try those features.
Three stairs is my limit for moving things as well. Two stairs in fine, but that third step is a deal breaker.

You can put a piece of tin in a frame or multiple frames and display your magnets that way.

You and jen need to learn the features of the microwave.. That grill thing would be awesome! I have it on my GE Profile Convection unit (Ia convection microwave that use microwaves and regular heat to cook faster)... So yeah!@
If you put like pizza or other things to reheat it will crisp them up as well.. Plus the ceramic coating is non stick so no more nasty microwave!
Hope you didn't get an LG fridge... You will be in for a world of trouble.... And if FP&L has a recycling program for refrigerators you and Jen may quailfy for a small rebate... I would check into that.. I got $50 back when i had to get my new fridge
