    Being an owner of a 2004 Durango, Dodge is known is to make vehicles, especially trucks with muscle bound power, large cabins and aggressive styling which perfectly fit the persona of an angry snorting ram!

      fast forward to now, and you can get a SRT Hellcat engine in your Dodge with 700+ horse power.

    Dodge needs to bring back the Dakota, they should've never killed it off in the first place.

    I love my ‘06. It’s about the same size as the old std. d150, so it’s pretty much a full sizer by 1980s standards. 77,000 miles with the 4.7 and still going!

    • @brucebeamon5460
      @brucebeamon5460 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow 77,000 miles I'm impressed , probably no rust above the wheel well EITHER

    • @vr4787
      @vr4787 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bruce Beamon yeah no rust believe it or not. I regularly wash it and clean out the grime that accumulates on the lip under the wheel well where they tend to rust. So long as you do that as part of the maintenance regimen and lubricate the hinges and seals and touch up paint chips it’ll last.

    These look like nice little trucks. I'm moving to a state that gets more snow than here in the south, i need something that will take on snow and ice better than my Mustang. I'm planning on one of these...

    I make my dakota carry 2100 lbs on a weekly basis tow over 7000 lbs on a monthly basis and I LOVE my 2003 dodge Dakota slt 4.7 2wd even with thousands of pounds of weight and old age it runs like new

  • @BloodstainedSinner
    @BloodstainedSinner 11 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Yup. The 2005's were a simple 230hp. The 08's were 300hp, and THIS year, for 2013, they're 310hp. What amazes me is, I myself own a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7 SLT, and it gets 16-21mpg, with 230hp. The 2013, with 310hp, gets the SAME fuel mileage! I want to swap out my old 4.7 for the 2013 4.7!

    It’s a rare specimen to come across a 6 speed with the 3.7. Also, isn’t that the same engine in the Liberty? Maybe not a fairy tale ending.

      This is coming from an owner of a 2005 Dakota: The styling got it right for the 2008-2011 models.. too little too late. And yeah I agree the damn thing is too big in all the wrong ways. Too stout and awkward lookin.

    BloodstainedSinner: the Dakota was discontinued in 2011 so there is no 2013 model however, there have been numerous rumors of the Truck's return. I hardly believe Dodge or Ram will reignite its return

    • @brucebeamon5460

      Yeah well this is 2019 and rather than bring back the Dakota there's the Gladiator I would have perfered a NEW Dakota simular to the old one NOT LOOKING LIKE A RIDGELINE , which was an idea that they were considering

      BlueonGoldZ Nope. The 5.9L V8 was discontinued after 2003. So the only options you had for the Dakota was the 3.7L V6 or 4.7L V8.

      My 2005 dodge Dakota just pasted 100,000 miles about a week ago ( this being 1st week in March 2019 , the body has the normal rust at the rear wheel wells , some dings hear and there the interior carpet needs to be replaced and yeah my drivers side heated seat got that burn mark ( which there was a recall that I haven't had time to look into . But I still love it and WISH SOMEWHERE LOCALLY hear near Detroit COULD RECONDITION MY V8 Dakota that I can very easly park in my Garage / wish FCA would bring this vehicle BACK WITH A V8 too I'm not interested in that Jeep truck , GM'S got there's and Ford brought there's back

    The 4.7 was an overrated gutless wonder. My dad had an 04 ram with the 4.7 & I couldn't believe how weak it was. If u had 4 or 5 passengers & the ac was on, you had to floor it just to keep up with traffic. My 97 f150 with a 210 hp 4.6 v-8 & 150k miles at the time would blow the doors off of his Ram.
