This video shows how Lemmy's bass style explained why Motorhead always sounded so GIGANTIC for a trio; those massive bass guitar chords just filled up a lot of the low-end and mid-range.
Yousseff Imani They were a trio for their first 9 years of existence, although they changed guitarists and drummers after their first album. That classic lineup of Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke, and Philthy Animal Taylor recorded the band’s most celebrated albums: Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, Iron Fist, and the legendary live album No Sleep Til Hammersmith. They had a LOT of lineup changes during their many years of existence with Lemmy as the only constant member.
@@Truth_Hurts_Bad most rock folk wrote a bunch of songs like that but thing is that Lemmy is far from that depiction of pedophilia, i like to look at it as a sort of perspective he has on it, kinda like gangsta rap. None of them are gangstas but they write rhymes about dealing coke and violence
The amps are designed to handle that kind of pressure, they usually blow up because of prolonged use or sub bass frequencies going too loud, if you use an octave pedal for instance
maybe not the hardest song to play on bass but definitely super super fun to play.. im mostly a Metallica fan and this made me gain a whole lotta respect to Lemmy

anxiety I remember playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1-3 that came out on dreamcast and ps1 it had so many good bands on it...Goldfinger, Dead Kennedies, Primus, Rage Against the Machine, RHCP. noob question, but what do the lines below the tabs mean? the I_I thing? and what does the swing from the 7 mean, just before it changes from 7 to an 5
lines are rhytmic figures. Half notes, quarter notes, 8th notes etc. And i think you refer to the ties. Those are for extending duration of notes more than it's value

they were a four piece (technically) at some point in the 80's but usually just trios

Hiya, what's the make of the bass your using, thanks
you know a man is crazy when he plays power chords on bass. Legend lemmy rest in peace
😂👌
Playing chords on the bass is probably what gave them a heavier sound
He would also overdrive the amp for his bass to which gave it this sound
Yup, his style covered the bottom and mid range.
Also the thick overdrive bass tone.
The tapping of the left leg is missing in the tabs.
Hahaha. Right?!?!
Lol
I was going to ask where the Jack and Coke goes in the song. But hey we sure do have spirit!

lemmy was really unique. great bass tone, interesting basslines, vocals that are recognized immediately and terrific lyrics. a genius.
Terrific alright.

He also played acoustic
Ayy lmao
Rythm Bassist?
Peter Hook
Lou Barlow has a similar style too
FINALLY! a bass player not afraid to play chords!! \m/great job!
Steve Harris plays power chords dude.
Von Heller not too smart there huh?
Burton used a lot of chords too :P
Maybe he was talking about the TH-cam bass player who isn't afraid of strumming.
...Geddy Lee?
This is the hardest song I've ever attempting on bass because I'm afraid to blow my amp

@@tite93 ruined the joke
To really play like Lemmy, just turn up your amp aaaall the way until it explodes. Then turn it up just a bit more.
Dude my amp only goes to 10 so I’ll never be able to play this one. Me needs a Spinal Tap rock amplifier!
Lemmy: Mom, can I get a bass guitar?
Mom: To use fingerstyle and slap?
