I am a HUGE Black Sabbath fan. I'm talking sitting alone in my room at 16 years old learning to play the guitar parts for their first four albums. This is absolutely, hands down the most accurate, authentic performance of Paranoid I have ever heard in my life. Your attack, your tone, the gain, it sounds like I'm sitting in their studio listening to Geezer's bass track on the master. Well fucking done sir.
The bass is the bone back of music. See: the best band in history, for any style: heavy? Punk? for example... bassmen make the difference Steve Harrys from Maiden, Dee Dee Ramones... even Metallica not was the same sound after lose Burton.

I'm french(excuse me if i make english mistakes hé hé)but i want to say that we always care about lead guitar in rock music, and often we forget the bass, but without the base drum-bass guitar, rock music lacks of depth.
Agreed, I was listening to The Four Horsemen last night and was listening to the bass drum sounding like a horse galloping, at first I thought it was a bass guitar but it sounded to repetitive musically, it didn't sound like something that could change audio pitch so I singled it out to be the bass drum. Then with bass guitar I listened and realized how flat and boring the song would be without bass, the bass adds much more variety and "flavor" to the music, it adds much more feel and in a way it kind of rings out in music a tiny bit longer than the guitar
@@blunttime1089 if this thing is frustrating when you play, then it's perfect exercise for fingers and your brain tempo. Don't let yourself down, keep practice going on.

Thank you for the upload. I always wanted to learn a Black Sabbeth song after buying the greatest hits CD about 8 years ago. I was just blown away by their music and how each instrument compliments eachother
I've been playing guitar for 16 years and started to play bass recently and I still can't get through this song, crying about half way through... Man you need some chops for this stuff!
Nicely done on one of my favorites. It proves greatness can be simple. The bass line for this song was so perfect. I will never tire of it. One of my favorite lyrics of all times, "Make joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry."
I recommend you learn their song “Electric Funeral” first. It really improved my pinky and ring finger dexterity and it’s fun and not too hard (I’ve been playing for about 4 months)
Don’t take short cuts. Just slow it down and gradually build up speed. Short cuts just mean you’re putting it off but will have to learn it some other time and/or you will never learn it. And it will sound weird to anyone who cares. (I’m referring to the recommendation to hammer on)
I more or less have all the parts down apart from the first bridge part where you hit the octaves, its kicking my backside at the moment because I am tripping over my fingers!
Awesome tone and awesome playing. My only criticism -- and it isn't really a criticism considering your version sounded really good -- is on the transition from E to D. Geezer plays the A-B-D-E transition down an octave so E5-E7-A5-A7 rather than D7-D9-G7-G9. However, like I said it sounds pretty awesome so I'm going to start incorporating both while performing this song. Should keep things interesting during what is otherwise a somewhat monotonous bass line.
Old guy now, remember as a teen with my Fender Musicmaster bass trying to figure out this and many other songs without anything like TH-cam. Would have made the job a lot easier.
Dear Great Master of Bass, Thanks to You! You play the Bass with panache! Thank you againg for remember me the BS concert in 1975 in Paris La Vilette area (FRANCE with AC/DC in fisrt part!) for Black Sabbath it was so perfect: an old beef slaugtherhouse...

Hey, would you mind doing a guitar cover for this song? I've never been able to figure out the solo very well and your videos help me a lot with guitar and bass. Do it or don't, keep up the good work man!
Well, it's not Billy Sheehan but pretty cool, also that is literally the best looking bass I've ever seen ever, I didn't even know they made Les-Paul-like basses. Not a bassist but damn it I want one

This song kills my hand, the endurance you need to just constantly be playing those eighth notes with basically no break for 3 mins
stay away from muse-hysteria for sure then haha
