Whereas the Challenger started to feel light and floaty at about 130 mph. I personally like my Mustang more than I did my Challenger. The 10-speed Auto is the bomb. And at 70mph, I can get 28 MPG with the Mustang. A four valve dual overhead cam V8 is just really impressive to me. And the Mustang has direct injection along with throttle body injection. Not sure about the Challenger.

I like both but I need a manual transmission for my enjoyment. I will not be racing in any kind of form, just retired and want an enjoyable car to drive with a manual. My first car at age 16 was a 1970 Charger R/T 383mag, 4speed tall pistol grip shifter. Loved that car. Today I am driving a 2006 Mazda3 sedan 5 sp man that I have enjoyed for 17 years. I want to get a new car for my retirement. I know the Mustang does not have a Tremec transmission, but I have not driven either one so I know nothing for comparison sake. I like the Challenger more due to sentiment but I believe I would rather own the Mustang GT for the long term. Any opinion or suggestion for a new manual to buy?
Before buying my '18 SS I test drove all 3, in 6spd as I prefer the manual driving experience. Ended up going Camaro simply because it was a significantly better deal, but if money wasn't a factor I think I would've went with Scat. I loved the immediate off idle torque the Scat provided. For someone like me, that will keep a car mostly stock and simply wants the most fun possible out of a street driven car, I think the Scat takes the win.
Great Video, Well Done. I have test Driven Both Vehicles. Your review is 100% accurate. The Scat Pack is fun to drive & the steering is a little stiff but acceptable. The interior of the Dodge is severely outdated. The GT Mustang is also Fun to drive & very fast The Mustang interior is well down & the Dash options just POP. We ordered the GT because it is more Sportier & fits our lifestyle. I also love the new Generation 4 302, which is really a 307. Ford doesn't use cylinder sleeves on the new 302. Now it's 307.
both amazing cars.. loved the low end TQ. of my scatPack , but the top-end pull on the coyote motor is crazy 😎 reminds me of my days of riding 2 stroke dirt bikes... just screams😁😁.. cant go wrong with either car..

I’ve always wanted 1970s muscle car and that challenger is the only one that comes close. Challenger, mustang Plymouth, nova, camaro. The 2010 camaro was really retro. Love your videos, keep it up.
Both are beautiful cars but the Mustang still gets my heart racing, I got my first one when I was 17 for graduation and ever since then I haven’t went without one in my garage. At 51 years young 🤣 my husband bought me my first Shelby GT 350 and so glad he did, considering they stopped production in 2020, I told him this one I wanna be bured in!
Another good video X! As a previous owner of a Charger SP, a Challenger HC & a 2019 Mustang GT PREM PP 1 I was interested in your perspective, & I think you did a very good job of the descriptions. I honestly enjoyed my SP around town the most, the HC on wide-open highways & the Mustang on curvy backroads. It’s hard to beat the SP for an all-around car. I sold the Mustang after about 6 months, and my takeaways comparing the Mustang to my Mopar’s was it had much louder road noise (not to be confused with exhaust noise), the stereo was inadequate for the best offered, but I just didn’t like the way the 10-speed shifted, and IMO the ZF is just a MUCH better feeling transmission. I realize it’s efficient, but it reminded me of a high-reving V6 always hunting for the right gear. And this is coming from someone that was a diehard Ford guy... I’ve owned nearly 20 Mustangs, but just like the Mopar’s better.
I don’t know how long you’ve had the stang. I’ve seen several of your videos on the challenger. Driving the mustang with the advanced traction control off turns them into a different and enjoyable ride. Just saying. I have a 2019 GT PP1. I’d love to have a charger scat pack as well but money dictates almost every desire. Lol
We have both 2015 GT and 15 Scat. If we had to keep one it would be the Scat due to overall comfort and space. Everyone's situation is different though. We like to ride to the beach, plenty of trunk and sunroof with comfy seats. Hard to beat.

As a manual transmission nut, it came down to a Challenger Scatpack 50th Anniversary edition widebody or a Mustang GT Premium with the performance package. The Challenger was about $1500 less, had more equipment and just looks badass with the white paint and hood-roof-trunk all in black. The Challenger was my pick, but both are incredible cars.
That's why you have to really compare the scat to the Mach 1. That's the only way you get a comparable transmission. The GT is shit with the getrag Chinese 6 speed. And if you so the scat widebody vs mach 1 the price loaded is very close and a fair match!

Even handed review which pleasantly surprised me. Both fun cars and enjoyable to own. Thx.
I cannot make my mind up at all, I’ve watched this vid atleast 20 times. Someone help😂
Take mustang
@@peakspider. I did lol I’m in love been gapping scats for 2 days stock!
@The Vengeance of Diana 🧢 5.0s beat scats all day they weigh too much
@The Vengeance of Diana I’m sure you’ve won some times but in a full roll the 10 speed will always win in the top end
@The Vengeance of Diana have I proof of my n/a 6 speed auto mustang beating a 392 Daytona
I own A Mustang 5.0 but I’d love to get my hands on a Scat Pack.
Absolutely agree with you my friend
Nice to see good feedback from guys who appreciate both cars not a hater because of brand loyalty!
love your videos you do them well and are an educated car enthusiast that is very non bias .I like you will own any of the american makes and some german i am not a brand snob if its good its good .
Hey X just wanted to say I'm so excited to say that my hours at work have finally gone back to normal and I have time to catch up on all your content! Man things have changed and I love the new stang!
Thanks buddy.. glad things are getting back to semi normal for you brother
I am a Ford guy, i would pick the mustang GT, but the challenger is a sweet car also, they are both great cars, they both
have great qualities, but they are different, it just what the driver likes more. The Mustang GT does look great in the drive way.
Love the channel, keep up the great work.
Haha the vid i was waiting for!! Great content as always X
Thanks buddy
I’ve always wanted 1970s muscle car and that challenger is the only one that comes close. Challenger, mustang Plymouth, nova, camaro. The 2010 camaro was really retro. Love your videos, keep it up.
Mrs. X's car looks so much sweeter!
Awesome video! Nice to see an unbiased car guy.
Thank you Scott
Telling by your reaction. Scat Pack all day lol 🤟🏼MOPAR
Racer X knows he has made a big mistake buying a Stang
I really enjoy the stang.. the cars drive very differently 👍
@@RacerX9 great videos racer x. much love from the bay 🌁
Well said it sr .MOPAR Scatpack any day!!!
I love your unbiased real opinions about the vehicles. A true car guy !
Thank you Rob 🤜
I don’t know how long you’ve had the stang. I’ve seen several of your videos on the challenger. Driving the mustang with the advanced traction control off turns them into a different and enjoyable ride. Just saying. I have a 2019 GT PP1. I’d love to have a charger scat pack as well but money dictates almost every desire. Lol
Mustang because of the closing speed
Scatpack because of comfort
Aha the Mopar is Torquey!! You will enjoy your Pony car and in the video you are smiling!! Enjoy and keep the videos coming.
We have both 2015 GT and 15 Scat. If we had to keep one it would be the Scat due to overall comfort and space. Everyone's situation is different though. We like to ride to the beach, plenty of trunk and sunroof with comfy seats. Hard to beat.
Great comparison .
These are 2 beasts we've All contemplated in a VS. scenario.
I have a 2019 mustang gt and I kill 392s all day. I love my Mustang. I paid way less for the Mustang than what I would've for the 393 scat
Did you get a 10 speed auto or manual? You have any mods?
I own a souped up Camaro 2SS. But I would gladly take either one of these as well. Any of them will make you happy.
“Why not have both?” -RacerX
Lol exactly 👍
I’m too broke to have one🤣
The wheels are for the base model check with your dealership you’re missing the premium wheels
Because I’m broke as shit 🥺 #19yearoldgang
He does have both
Like the new car - but love the old. My wife and I appreciate and really enjoy the videos. Get that RacerX merch online! My birthday's coming up.
I drove a mustang for 2 weeks and ended up in a challenger! Mopar all day! Send it!!
Terrific review, racer x! Thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a Challenger SRT driver and absolutely love the torque but man I can see how that mustang is a lot of fun as well in the higher revs. Again great video keep up the good work
392 in the Mustang, call it " Scatstang" lol
That would be a fast stock car
That would be insane lol
@Andrew V 485hp and 475tq wouldn’t slow it down lol. Slight weight penalty with the hemi, but 50+ lb/ft down low is substantial
@@danielbarrios7478 Today, out my way for the first time I pulled up behind a mustang GT and you gotta say the videos don't give it justice, it's loud, it rumbles , it's a beast and with added boost it surely makes it's presense well known.
Lol...just found your channel...love the comparison...Challenger is like Hulk and Mustang is like Superman...awesome!!! 👍
Is the mustang easier to mod? Especially with tuning and adding boost.
Yes and no
@@xxsilver_gamingxx389 but mostly yeah lol
Gabriel Guerrero Yes
It's a ticking time bomb
The coyote definitely takes better to boost than the 6.4 but it’s not bulletproof 👍
super in depth, super great guy, instant subscribe.
Just remember, once you get past all the human bias and preference, the Mustang is faster, both in a straight line and in anything involving turning. It’s in every way the superior performer.
Oh Yeeeah Cant wait for content from the stang , happy 2021 racerX 😈
I love my gt premium, performance pack 1, 6 speed daily driver! By far the most entertainment you can get driving to work!
Heck of a daily driver RacerX! Great comparison that leaves driver choice as the option. I do love my ScatPack for sure.
id have to go scatpack , that torque is so addicting
It definitely puts a smile on your face
I owned a really badass ocean red 2021 Scatty Charger that hit 185 mph..... However, I could not beat a 5.0 Stang. I recently traded in my Scat pack for a Ford Mustang GT and I couldn't be happier with it. I will always remember the good times I had in my Scatty but from now on im all about team Ford.
Yessir I agree. Once you’ve had a ‘stang you will always know they are the best…there’s a reason Ford has been making them since the 1960’s
Happy New Year to you and Mrs. X! I can't wait to see what new content you bring in 2021. If you are ever in Michigan I'd love to race your Mustang. Keep it up brother 👍🏾
Sounds good buddy.. Happy New Year
This video couldn’t have came at a better time .. I was looking at both and didn’t know what to get
Right same here 😅. Which one you got
I always watch your channel because you are always very neutral in your reviews. You getting a mustang though made me subscribe to your channel, I own a 19 GT
Great Great video, got me shopping for one now.
Now you and the Mrs. X can prove the theory of which is faster in the quarter mile when yall head back to the track
Absolutely lol
Was that your daughter in the back ground 5:59mark? I couldn't stop laughing at her antics. This video made my day..
Yes.. she never misses an opportunity to bomb me lol
Omg he got a mustang 😍😍😍😍😍😍 honestly I would love to have a challenger scat pack (6mt) and a charger wide body 392. These two will sit perfectly with my 2013 mustang gt premium
I know didn’t say Racer X but the look on your face while driving the SP tells me that’s your preference.
I’d go Scat Pack, but both nice cars
Can’t go wrong with either one 👍
Fantastic video and your attention to your explanations is great and easy to understand . I can’t wait to see and hear the mods to the Mustang . Congrats Racer X !!!
Thanks Mike.. looking forward to it 👍
I’m actually in the market for the gt, hope your vids help. I really love charger scats but they’re significantly more expensive for the same miles.
Yeah sadly 5.7s are in the same ball park price wise but performance you have to go scat pack but they're $5000+ more
I'm looking between a 6.4 scat pack charger and a 5.0 mustang, tryin to find out if the 15k price difference is worth the money on the charger.iv always loved the chargers but if I can get something almost as fun for 15k less then that might be my options.im really stuck in between an don't know what one to grab lol
@@TheS197King in my opinion the 5.0 is a better bet. They’re faster and respond to mods better than scat do. I ended up ordering a 22’ 5.0 single cab, insurance is too much for a stang in my situation.
@@toto883 that's what I ended up going with lol.i was looking at a 2018 scat pack or a 2014 5.0, ended up with the mustang the power difference couldn't justify the 20k difference lol.
AWESOME review....you coveted EVERYTHING from A-Z. Both AWESOME rides!!
I own both of these cars as well. Though my mustang is a supercharged 2014 manual. I agree with your review 100%. The challenger is a torquey angry beast. Honestly, even though my scat pack is stock and my mustang makes 650ish whp and would demolish it in a race, I enjoy the scat pack more and it feels faster down low.
Dang didn’t know that
Excellent review on both cars. Thanks again X
Great video!! I was literally just wondering which one I want to buy this whole week, the Scat or the GT. My daughter is Mustang person, and I lean towards the Challenger. The decision is even tougher now.
Mustang
Which one did you end up buying ?
@@tommybrumfield3052 I ended up going with a black scat pack with the Dynamics package and adaptive suspension. Thing is great. Once she gets a Mustang then we can race each other ;)
🐎🏁Congratulations Mr.X, you’ve made a phenomenal purchase. welcome to the S550 club. It’s great you support both Dodge and Ford. I’ll be watching your videos much more now.
😳 I wish you got your 5.0 before I got mine because I did ZERO pulls during break in 😂 this video would have changed my mind for sure. It was horrible! Great content! Keep it coming
Excellent video with great info! What I get from you is that the Scat Pack is better for everyday driving because the usable torque. Also, you can carry more people in the Challenger. That’s my choice but with the wide body.
Saw that you were posting this from Instagram. Keep the great videos coming.
Awesome man.. I appreciate you letting me know 🤜🔥
Which one will win in a drag race ? Stock vs stock. Mustang or scat? Me personally would own both if I could lol. But I think I would go gt500 just because there’s not many ppl doing content with those as hellcats and scats.
That’s true.. love the GT500
I have a 2019 GT vert and what you notice is when the direct injectors come online combined with the VVT. I have the 3.55 gears with the 10 speed. That old school higher gearing trick does wonders off the line.
Mustang for me it lives in the high rpms
Wet&Snow mode is amazing in the mustang. 😉
Looked at both. ( I have a charger) Way more practical and I just love the punch these cars deliver. The mustang is an incredible performance car, I just find it's not common ( unless your a racer ) that you can use that up end power. Front end punch all day !
Love that torque 👍
Another great video! Here’s to new and exciting adventures and mods with RacerX! Livelifewithaview!!
