Thanks for the video! I am about to replace the hubs on my 2001 Durango SLT Plus that I have had since 2006. I really want to know where you got the chrome wheel skins for these 16" wheels? I like that chrome look over the painted aluminum
I actually bought these wheels off a guy that was parting out a Durango. So they originally came off a Durango. I’ve never seen these wheel skins anywhere else, but I never really search real hard. Just happen to stumble upon them on FB Marketplace.
Detroit Axle from Amazon was about $90 for the pair of hubs with new nuts and 10 yr warranty. Auto parts stores are over priced. I like your polished rims. Mine are painted. Was polished an option or did you do it?
These wheels just have a plastic chrome wheel cover over a steel wheel. I got these off a Durango a guy was parting out. I’ve heard good things about Detroit axle.
@@tylerterry1993 Detroit Axle is where i got mine from in a package with a steering rack, inner and outer tie rod ends and new sway bar links and bushings. the hubs are the last thing to be installed after 9 months 🤣
Thanks for the help. My first time replacing them. Made it easy
I’m glad the video helped!
I like your chrome rims. They look factory but chrome. Never seen those. Thanks for the vid.
They came off a Durango. It’s just a chrome skin over a steel wheel. Don’t see them too often on other Dodge vehicles.
Thanks for this video!
All I’ve seen are 4x4 videos, which wasn’t helpful.
Glad it helped someone out!

Hey great video ?? Do they sell just the bearing or do I have to buy the whole spindle?
You can buy just the bearings. I got these off Rockauto if I remember correctly.

Both hubs with nuts and shipping from Rock Auto about $90.
Great vid thanks bud.
What would make the bottom ballpoint castle nut scrap in to the rim?
How old is the ball joint? I’d say it needs replaced if rubbing the rim.
@tylerterry1993 it was an empty bearing making it rub
The wheel bearing seal goes bad and the grease leaves the bearing.
nut is 36mm or 1 7/16. and take it off first.
That 'retainer clip' is not a retainer. It is a tattletale squealer when wheel bearing goes bad.
