    Good information! I've replaced my crankshaft and campshaft position sensors before and was surprised that I was getting a check engine light for the camshaft sensor again. I'll look into the wiring before replacing the sensor again. I still have the original sensors that I removed.

      I bought a new pigtails with a socket from the dealer and had them do a overlay of installing the new wires into the harness and that solved the issue

    Glad you mentioned the wires that’s probably what I’ll be try next. I just changed the sensor but it will sometimes still read error then it won’t so maybe wires

      I had the dealer do a wiring overlay back into the wiring harness about 18 inches from the sensor where they found a break inside the installation of a wire and that was my issue not the sensor itself

    I have had 5 dakotas and never had problems with the wires or sensors thats good to know i still have 1 left I plow with its the 4.7 and just started having this similar issue .
    put my scanner on it and was watching the ignition timing at idle and its reading all over the place , not steady but at 2k rpm holds at 34 degrees at idle its bouncing from zero to 18 degrees then crank sensor code came up and also cam sensor . I just changed the fuel pump / the old one was holding at a steady 45lbs at all rpms with fuel guage attached - which is still in the good range but the new pump holds now at 52lbs starts instantly doesnt crank for 20 seconds anymore and has much better acceleration at low speed . was original pump with 170k on it .

      Ignition timing on my dodge dakota is also reading all over the place, from 0-25 when idling. And around 34 degrees at 2k rpms.. i have aftermarket Crank sensor and Cam sensor.. i will buy Mopar sensors this time..

      Yes CS bad .the wires to it were ok but it took 4 hours to get it out was so rusted from salt i welded a drill bit to a 2ft threaded rod just to get at it drilled 6 holes in it then was able to chisel it out used a vacuum so pieces would not go in the engine .

    приветствую. недавно дрифтовал по снегу и появилась такая же ошибка и расход бензина увеличился на 3-4 л сейчас на 100км 13-14л расход. машина шевролет спарк. что можно сделать?

    Did you just replaced cam shaft wiring only or did you replaced a sensor also?

    • @Cassette2Go
      @Cassette2Go  ปีที่แล้ว

      I put a new sensor in they're even though it wasn't needed as I was already there. I installed a new pigtail and wiring soldered back into the wiring harness about 1 ft distance. Ever since then no issues.

    Any ideas I rebuilt my motor and had to get a new pcm it’ll fire but not start up?

    • @Cassette2Go
      @Cassette2Go  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is tedious to do but check continuity in your wiring harness between components

    • @Cassette2Go
      @Cassette2Go  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check your timing and check your firing order and check for spark at spark plug

      If you're getting spark are you getting fuel

      @Cassette2Go  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it did work I replaced by way of an overlay of the wires and pigtail for the camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor back in a harness 18in and soldered in and now my engine runs fine no issues

    Why is that I want to see how to replace the camshaft position sensor in my 2005 dodge dakota 4x4 every vehicle except mine pissed wasting time

    • @Cassette2Go
      @Cassette2Go  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just one 10 mm bolt holding it in place and it's extremely hard to get your hand in there along with the socket because you have to do it blind because of the partslocation underneath the air conditioner on the side of the 4.7 liter engine of mine and if I can barely stick my hand in there are you sure as hell cannot shove a camera in there to let you see how it's done sorry I can't show everything

    Are you changing the camshaft or the crankshaft are they the same

    • @Cassette2Go
      @Cassette2Go  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had the Dealer do a wire overlay for both as they are different each is different and each are in different locations both are on the passenger side as the crankshaft one is down low and the camshaft is up high on the engine, understand? Both sensors were replaced with NEW ones and the wires were cut back and overlaid and soldered into place about 18 inches.

      @@Cassette2Go Hi. Did replacing wiring helped and have you had the same problem come back ?

    • @Cassette2Go
      @Cassette2Go  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arthurneroshchin5015 No that issue has never has never happened again. Last week I had a P0202 number two cylinder injector and I had that replaced along with a pigtail, that's been bugging me for over a year. I finally had that worked on repaired replaced. IAC the pigtail that going to that is going bad every now and then I have to open the hood wiggle wire and I can motor on.

    I think part of your problem is that you use AutoZone parts

    • @Cassette2Go
      @Cassette2Go  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I found out later the sensors were all good the issue was there was a break and the wiring harness going to the sensor so I had to have the wires overlaid and cut back and installed if you understand what I mean which then fix the issue
