As a student of science, but raised ‘Christian’, my faith was always weak and conflicted. Hugh’s teachings completely unlocked my heart, now I’m a born-again Holy Spirit filled weapon for the Most High. Perhaps you've rejected the young earth creation story as clearly told in the bible. Even right here in this video Ross confesses that there were 6 days of creation - then he goes off the rails to bend the texts to fit in with the big bang tale. You make your bed - you have to sleep in it. Choose well.
So by the way re-read Exodus 20:8-11 carefully - again and again - and examine the context in which it appears.

If you want to know about Ross, get the book Refuting Compromise
A biblical and scientific refutation of ‘progressive creationism’
(billions of years) as popularized by astronomer Hugh Ross
      by Dr Jonathan Sarfati.
Ross plays a game, and pretends to exude humility and sincerity, but he is proud, puffed up and arrogant. He deludes himself, and is greatly deceived, and deceives far too many who should know better. He obviously thinks he is some kind of gnostic. He writes a book titled "Why the universe is the way it is" as though he has all the answers.
Ross is a Trojan horse to the church. He rejects the creation account, and contaminates scripture with Big Bang secular philosophies that directly contradict scripture. He rejects the global flood and says it was just a local flood, and believes there was death before Adam's sin, which is an attack on God’s goodness and character. Very serious !
He claims there were "pre-adamites". (people who supposedly lived and died before Adam). His faith is in Big Bang, and he has constructed a religious cult that conforms to it. Scriptural meaning is twisted to accommodate it. Don't be so easily deceived, people...Gods word warns of these types in the last days.

In the scriptures it says that God divided the light from the dark before He spoke the sun into existence. That tells me there was some form of light that was intermingled with darkness. Doing this dividing made way for the creation of the greater light or the sun. It was God making way for the sun--a greater light. John the Baptist came out of the wilderness. The wilderness represented the former light that was given by Moses'writings including the law and by the prophets and kings such as David who were anointed by the Holy Spirit. But the true light got mixed up with man's sinfulness, false gods of the heathen and even God's own chosen people's straying. John shouted, " Make Way for the Lord! "He exhorted men to repent! He wanted them on a higher road with all the stones-- the stumbling stones-- cast away to prepare the way for the Messiah. He washed them in baptism from their former ways. And then the greater Light came... The son of God, the Light of the world that lighted every man. John was called the most righteous man that ever lived. But the Son of man was Righteousness! The Truth had dawned and It would experience an eclipse and then shine on for eternity. This is my prayer: "Lord let me separate the Light from the darkness and fully experience the eclipse of your death that I might pass from darkness to Light and walk in the Light as you are in the Light and have fellowship with You, Your blood cleansing me from all sin." Amen.

Truth=truth. God cannot lie. Science is fact. Bending science to fit a mis-translation of Hebrew into some bizarro story only chases away rational people to an eternity in hell. To say God’s science (yes, He created it!) is a lie and is to accuse Him of being a liar. I urge you to be cautious here. The far greater creation miracle and the greater love is shown through how God meticulously prepared this world for His man.

    • @IronMatt
      @IronMatt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@jony3775 God's word is the Authority. Science is actually not "fact", there are facts involved in science, but science changes all the time. Some aspects of science are facts, but what's called "historical science " is unproovable and, at best, a theory. The Christian has to weigh scientific theories against God's word, which is the authority , not the other way around. That's my whole point. If we have to jump through hoops to make the bible match what we accept as scientific facts, they may not actually be facts, then we are in error.
The plane reading of scripture brings about the young earth model and the rest of the bible lines up with that model.

Pointing out that we are finally capable of understanding the observational proof of creation, through His Word written well before anyone had any clue about the science we know today, is not replacing the Bible with science. In fact it’s a maturing of faith and equipping to go out and disciple to people.

wonderful talk, thank you. While “day” may mean a period,Genesis does not just say “day” but “evening came and morning came the first ( second, third etc) day”. You reveal the order is correct so can it not be possible that God created on each 24 hour day in succession , the earth and universe, “where it would have been if X number of millions of years had passed” each time? I see miracles of God today witnessing to God’s ability to do this - a leg growing in one second four inches longer at the prayer of another - not slowly as the witness told me, but in one instant it was short and one second later it was four inches longer. Prophets in thee Bible were transported in an instant WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH THE SPACE INBETWEEN, (often called bi-location) - Habakuk with the stew to Daniel: Philip from the road with the Ethiopian chariot and next instant in Susa: Elijah, taken from one place to another and who had to be sought by his prophetic brothers. When Padre Pio was taken in an instant to North Africa, saved a soldier’s life and was returned in a second back to Italy he was asked how he did this feat ( one of many in his life). He said, “I am where God Wills me to be, here in the monastery one moment and the next He will me elsewhere.” This explains the mystery of Jesus’ virginal birth, God willed Jesus to be in His mother’s womb until full gestation and the next instant to be in the manger - hence not passing the space inbetween and so the seal of virginity was not broken.

      @ImogeneRichards หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I applaud your desire to defend the bible record and wholeheartedly agree, that it is a sure, truthful reference on whatever subjects it touches on.
Personally, i have found i have to take great care not to do two things.
1.To not take well corroborated scientific truths,as automatically being adversarial to the bible.
What is called science,is in truth, the attempt to uncover truth, about reality. It is a gradual progressive process, but it is,whether its practioners believe in god or not,a methodical search for uncovering truths regarding how god builds a universe, it is not my enemy.
People within it may try to distort or mess with things within that body of knowledge, but, the truths are there, and it is up to people who love truth, whether they're god fearing or not,to call out when it is straying from that grand goal of pursuit of truth.
Fundamentally though, clear scientific truths will only add to the bible account, no matter what people may try to do.
We have no reason to fear science itself.
      2.I must,
      use the bible correctly.
This takes much effort, but i find it helps by being careful not to take things out of context, its so easy to focus on a verse in order to prove my own thought or point of view,,and to ignore the previous verses,or chapter, which set that verse in the proper context.
Another thing ive learned,is to also collect all the rest of points the bible may make about that same subject matter,in the other bible books, this gives a clearer view of gods flawless thinking on the given subject.
I learnt this way of careful study, from great god fearing men,who more than a century ago used these methods to get clear views of bible truths.
It is easy for us to misunderstand what god is saying, and we dont want to stumble those who already doubt him.
      3.Be patient,things aren't always quickly apparent.
In Rom chapters 5,6, god is using Paul to address the matter of where human sin and death originated from,he was not making a statement regarding death in reference to all living things. In fact the whole theme of the bible,is written regarding this grand purpose that god has for mankind, and how it will be achieved.
In chapter 5 he specifically address the origin of human death,as being the fatal decision Adam made in Eden, and the consequences this has for all of us.
God reveals his response to this dire situation ie,supplying a ransom that will pay the price of bondage, and release mankind from this situation they are stuck in.Sin brings death, just as night follows day.
In some of gods final words to mankind in Rev:21:4 god paints a picture of all things he will remedy,or reverse for mankind, outcry, mourning, pain and death, are the things he promises to reverse for mankind.
When he sent his chief representative,Jesus, you will recall he resurrected and cured people, not pets or cattle,as a way to demonstrate to those people, and to us,the things which he would do at a future time globally. He further stated there would be a grand ressurection of humans in John:5:28,29.
So,we can see the picture that is forming right?
Nowhere does the bible suggest that animals did not expire before Adam,or that they only started dying, after the fall.
The ransom was provided to remove humans from endlessly being born into a dying race, it is a provision only for those made in gods image.
I personally thought that the gentleman who gave this talk,is a man who sincerely loves the book of creation, and the bible, and he gave a very reasonable, compelling talk.
My hope,is that as people who are in awe of this amazing creator,as i believe you are, that together we can learn and grow from each other.

Modern translations do not use this: Genesis 1:7 “And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse.” This is talking about what we now call the water cycle. The use of the world “firmament” in Genesis 1:8 is a carryover from the Latin firmamentum of the Vulgate. Genesis was written in Hebrew, the original Hebrew word is raqiya. This should be translated “expanse, sky, space, horizon”. Some translated this a vault. Genesis was written in Hebrew, which as limited vocabulary.

"God gave us 66 books." Incorrect: the number is 73. You have the EVISCERATED BIBLE. Luckily the heretical Catholic priest Luther didn't have it all his own way otherwise your bible would be even smaller:
"Luther’s first German translation was missing 25 books (i.e., Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Esther, Job, Ecclesiastes, Jonah, Tobias, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach (i.e., Ecclesiasticus), Baruch, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Matthew, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, Hebrews, James, Jude and Revelation."

There are just too manny coincidence's to be a goincidence. like the sun being where it is the moon likewise the rotatiin of the earth, you could, write abook with them all. It's quite stupid realy, as they can't even use the word miracle, because of its meaning!

Hi there everyone, I wonder if your guest would like to know the origin of the 700,000 created universes and what is life from a science perspective? I say yes!
    ( creation )
It is the LORD my Father, who through me, his Word, laid the foundations of the
earth, the (material, mental, spiritual) energies and it is the Creator Sons, who after
having taken possession of a field of space, manipulated these energies in order to
bring their respective universes into existence.
    ( life )
Life is the energy released by the bombardment of the projectiles of the cosmic light.
The cosmic ray is ultra-penetrating, nothing can stop its course. The cosmic light
continually bombards the nucleus of every atom in the greater universe and releases
the energy they contain. This released energy generates movement and movement is life.
( the purpose of life )
The first duty of every human being is to seek perfection.
    Perfection is God.
The Divine Spirit is continually present everywhere at once in the great universe.
All creation has been invested with the presence of God.
Seek me and you will live!
    ( Religion )
Religion is strictly a matter of personal experience.
True religion consists of conceiving God clearly,
to know him by experience and to recognize the Father.

I see Mr. Ross as just one more wolf in sheep's clothing. I don't many times see him in a fine wool suit, so a better description might be, the Pied Piper leading a flock of sheep down a broad smooth path.

NO, he simply puts the Bible against HIS understanding and changes it to fit his limited view.
Evening and morning do not speak to a long period of time.
Moses reinforces this in Exodus, referring to the miraculous fact that God created the world in 6 days. If it actually took billions of years then 1, Moses is lying and 2, his point is invalid about making a single day holy.
Do you think our God would desire to find a population of humans who would follow him, so he waited billions of years for things to arrive? No way. He is following the Godless explanation for things and forcing the Bible to fit.
He should write fiction books. Great imagination, but entirely his creation.
How Sir, did the water arrive here? You know the best explanation "science" has is that icy meteors / asteroids landed, melted and voila, an inconceivable amount of water.
Then to say that the fossil record does anything other than support the young Earth? You again put the Godless explanation above the Bible.

I am very surprised that Dr Hugh Ross is so blind to basic Bible facts. The Bible is clear that God created the world 🌎 in 6 literal days and Rested the 7th day and blessed it. Exodus 20 and Dueteronomy 5 , the Ten Commandments! Six literal days to labor and do all your work, the 7th day , Saturday is the Lord's day, the Sabbath day. See also Luke 4 : 16 and Acts 17.Also the Bible clearly teaches a world wide flood. Dr Hugh Ross needs to put the Plain Truth of God's sacred word first! Instead he first clings to flawed evolutionary beliefs of millions and billions of years and then he tries to forced the Bible, God's words to fit in it. Like trying to put a round peg in a square hole, it will never fit. Thank God for His blessed Sabbath day of rest. It started in Genesis, He made it clear by the falling of the mana and Isaias 66 said it will last for all eternity. May God/ Jesus help Dr. Hugh Ross to read and accept the Holy Word of God As Is Instead of twisting it as he has done for years to suit or please his 🌎 worldly scientist friends 🙏!May God help him! May God help us all to follow Jesus all the way to the new heaven and the new 🌎 earth! Hallelujah! In Jesus Most Precious and Most Wonderful and Most Beautiful and Most Blessed and Most Holy name way way Way above All other names 🙏 Amen 🙏!!!!!!!

In the beginning God ( not Jesus) created the heavens and earth. This clearly means that there is only One Creator, One God, doesn't it? Therefore, calling Jesus God or son of God is such a horrendous mistake , fallacy and belief, unfortunately , so money subscibe to. The Truth about creation and the ultimate destiny of these heavens and earth are to find in the only True and undistorted religion : Islam.
Study Islam and unravel the Truth. Islam acknowledges Judaism and christianity and gives irrefutable accounts about the messages conveyed by the messengers of each of those two religions, but at the same time, Islam addresses the fallacies, refutes the tenets of wrong beliefs and gives countless pieces of pure scientific pieces of evidence regarding how everything , by Allah's WILL, sprang to existence and how it will swing back to its end. And on the DAY of Reckoning every soul shall its commensurate reward or chatisement shall have! Study Islam!

Continue reading the very next verse Genesis 1:2 clearly states ‘and the spirit of God hovered over the waters. ‘The Holy Spirit part of the Triune God was also present during creation. This already debunks your theory. But lets carry on reading Genesis 1:26 ‘let us create man in OUR image’ 1 God with 3 forms hence the use of the plural ‘OUR’ Jesus is indeed the son of God, and is God in his own right. John 1:1 in the beginning was the WORD and the word was with God and the word was God.’ Jesus is the word of God. Even if I didnt want to believe the Bible about who Jesus was, I certainly wouldn’t believe a man that came 500 years AFTER Jesus lived over the 12 disciples who lived & ate with Jesus and went on to die horrific deaths declaring and prophesying all over the world that Jesus is the son of God who died for our sins and was resurrected 3 days later.

Keep on believing in your trinity doctrine which , obviously enough, falls apart and got debunked by previous Christians who convincingly chose to embrace Islam . By your logic, then, Adam should be a much worthier of worship god than Jesus as Adam was born from neither a man or a woman. Do some bias-free research and seek to find the truth and if you forbear then you have got wind of Islam and may you not direly regret not to have sought to unravel the truth!

The problem is that Muhammad was a false prophet. We know this from the stuff he wrote such as giving seven versions of how we were created:-
Quran 3:59 - He created him from dust . .
      Quran 11:61 - . . He ˹is the One Who˺ produced you from the earth . .
Quran 15:26 - Indeed, We created man from sounding clay moulded from black mud.
      Quran 16:4 - He created humans from a sperm-drop, . .
Quran 19:67 - . . We created him before, while he was nothing?
Quran 21:30 - . . And We created from water every living thing.
Quran 96:2 - Created humans from a clinging clot.
He was also immoral, having sex with a 9 year old. Being such a great lusty guy, Allah allowed him to have many more wives than ordinary Muslims and when he lusted after his adopted son Zayd's wife, of course Allah let him have her too. Quran 33:37.

This guy is sooo wrong, on so many things, right from the beginning. It's so bad, I'm gonna make my own video!
just for starters, he misquoted Gen.1:1 !! ...God created the HEAVEN, singular. not heavens, plural. Think about it, the 'first' heaven, where Gods throne is, ALWAYS existed, it never had a beginning. the 'second' heaven, space, is what God created in Gen 1:1. The 'third' heaven, our atmosphere, where the birds fly, was created later. So, if you can't even get Gen 1:1 right, how can you believe anything else he says? It also means there were no clouds ABOVE the deep and no solid mater under the deep. I wouldn't listen to anything this guy says. He has NO clue what he is talking about.

FWIW ‐ From the Hebrew for Genesis 1:1:
(Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz.)
      a) Bereshit bara Elohim (Hebrew):
      - “In the beginning God (Elohim) Created”
      b) et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz (Hebrew):
      "the heavens and the earth".
(*) This specific phrase ("the heavens and the earth") is a “merism,” a figure of speech indicating the two stand NOT for "heavens" and "earth" individually, but "everything" (i.e., the Universe).
This phrase ("the heavens and the earth") is used 9 times in the Old Testament, always referring to the totality of physical reality.
It is not about the Earth.
      It is about the Universe.
The equivalent word for our English word "Universe" simply did not exist in the Biblical Hebrew Language.
Thus, “universe” is not found anywhere in the Old Testament Hebrew text.
Perhaps it is you that should humble thyself?
